    kariya-linden-cooke
    ruutu-chubarov-keane
altho i like the lines better like this
    cooke-chubarov-naslund
    sedin-sedin-bertuzzi
    kariya-morrison-linden
    ruutu-keane-king
but either way the lines looks awesome
I guess it all depends if Bert goes to jail or not Anyone heard update on this case yet?

ya and i think they want kariya cause he could fill in bertuzzi's spots if he's missing and your forgot marty ruchinsky, unless he's not joining the team any more

havent heard anythin about bert going to jail, i dont think he have his hearing yet. even if he get off w/ just community service he still face a possible lawsuit from steve moore. and even if hes found not guilty he still need to be reinstated by the nhl. so honestly he prob wont play next yr (if there is a season). on a side note, i heard sumthing about heatley mite be charge w/ manslaughter and goto jail, can anybody confirm this?? i hope i heard wrong cuz heatley is one of my fav player!

btw, ruchinsky is a UFA, he was very invisible the whole time he was in van, didnt produce much in terms of offensive #, was placed on teh 3rd line by the end of the 1st round.

btw, in the worst case scenerio, this mite be the nuks opening lineup
    cooke-chubarov-naslund
    sedin-sedin-king
    f. federov-linden-reid
    ruutu-kesler-brookbank
this is assuming bert not allow to play next yr, morrison cant agree to a contract, and nuks not signing any UFA (including their own), and keane retiring. i do NOT like this line up at all! we'll have trouble makin the PO like dis.

i don't think that will happen cause with almost 300 UFA out there you are bound to sign at least a couple and not to say your own free agent so don't worry, and if there is a lockout, teams have lots of time to consider who to sign and who not to sign

nonis already said hes not gonna sign UFAs, he'll just trade for the player he wants. also, if theres gonna be a season, it'll have some kinda salary cap (believed to be around $36M-$40M) and the nuks payroll for next season, assuming they sign all their RFA will be close to it already, so addin UFA mite not be an option.

For Heatly's case, he was driving recklessly and not sure if Alcohol was involed... but his case is different because the event (don't like to use crime because it sound guilty already) happen outside of the game. Also a death occur with this situation

For Bert's case, he took a cheap shot at Moore that result in his broken neck and might not be able to play hockey again. Also it was media hunted... and involved with a marquee playing in the NHL elite.

NHL seems to not weight heavy on Heatly's case while Bert is a big issues but it could be because so many people show that punch while Heatly no one was really a witness to it

I thought Heatly should be suspended for what he did even if it is outside of NHL. They include him in the Canada Team and he was great in it... but did he get punish by the NHL for the car accident? The answer is no... which is kind of stupid for the NHL part.

I don't think the NHL has any jurisdiction on what goes on outside the league, they can't deal with players if they were impaired driving, cause it's not up to them but the police to deal with these players, whereas bertuzzi did something during a game, that was inside nhl jurisdiction, therefore nhl took action

bingo! i dont think the nhl should punish heatley for sumthing he did outside of the rink, dats the court's job. and i dont think the court should punish bert for something he did inside the rink, dats the nhl's job. dats the way it should be.

Calgary just lost their super centre man Craig Conroy to LA, what the hell is going on, Calgary shouldn't wait any longer to sign their guys are they are gonna get picked off by little greedy teams. Conroy gets 12 mill, what the hell is going on i though the salary cap is gonna kill that number if it becomes approved

also a line to what happened with the free agent signing so far

well calgary's "super center" had 8 goals last yr, EIGHT GOALS! even in today's nhl, dats very low. and dont try to convince me dat playing w/ iginla didnt help his assists total. essentially, he'll goto LA and will only put up 25 pts, mabbe 40 if he plays w/ palffy (if palffy resigns w/ the kings). i dont think hes worth $3+M a yr, calgary was wise not to spend dat much on him

ack who knows what's going on i mean sutter signed reghr and nilson's brothers just yesterday as well.
but with conroy leaving it's cause sutter couldnt give him a long term contract with no trade clause. but he re-signed simon. that dissapointed me.

Signing reghr may not be all that bad since he's in the team canada world cup team, so it's all good, as for nilson, when he was playing with donovan and nimenin they were really, really good, so keeping him should be good

i guess sutter is hoping dat talent runs in the family
tryin to think of some recent brothers combination dat works, let see....the bure bros didnt do so well in Fla, i think pavel was hurt for most of the season, then traded. the courtnalls bros played ok in their only season together in Van, but didnt play on the same line and geoff left after 1 season.
those r the only brothers combo i remember off the top of my head, feel free to add to it and comment on their play.

The best brother combo I remember was way back when Quebec City had a hockey team which is now the Avls... and there was these brothers Stashny (sp)... hard to remember because I was little then.

Speaking of brothers, most of Sutter family all play in the NHL and became coaches... I know a couple went back to their family farm. Maybe that is the reason why Sutter wants to recruit and sign brothers... family connection.
