haha, i guess only me and james understand trizz, dats what happen when u read every one of trizz's post here!

of the 3 lightning players, im most impressed w/ lecavalier, he is one of the more dangerous player for canada in this turny. thornton too. good to know that canada will have those 2 centering their top 2 lines after sakic and lemieux retires.

lastly, finland moves on after a surprisingly close game w/ germany. i thought it would be a blowout, guess u cant underestimate any team in this turny, hope canada wont think that they can just walk all over slovak.

hey from midseason, to the stanley cup, me, james, and superkarate monkey are like hockey pals now, ne ways how could sweden get hammered by the czechs, but congrats to the czechs they finally got their act together, ne ways, too bad for sweden, we knew today that a power house will fall and another upset for sweden, that's kinda sad, they were upset in the olympics and now in world cup, they can't show their face ne more

    CZECH REPUBLIC beats SWEDEN 6-1

That was like how long ago? Ask any Swedish hockey fans and they'll tell you that Naslund sucks when he wears the Tre Konors jersey.

I do understand the big picture of trizz posts, it's just that I need more logic. I guess I'm too old for these kinds of posts.

I'm mostly impressed with Thornton. I thought he was brutal during the playoffs and didn't do much during exibition games but he showed me wrong with some good plays.

I'm not at all surprised of the score. Remember that Canada barely managed to win versus Germany in SLC? They play a very defensive game and it's really difficult to past their blue line.

I think the canadians need to play like a game 7 for everygame from now on, cause every team that i've seen in these three quarter final match are putting up a good fight and i'm sure that the Slovaks will do also put a good fight like too, and i don't like the tournament format, everyteam makes it into the elimination round, so your practically playing three exibition game and once your in the elimination round that's where it all counts

so disappointed in sweden, they were my 2nd favorite team in the turny. so much for the dynamic duo of naslund and forsberg. but to be fair for nazzy, up until the olympics at SLC he was usually played on the 4th line, so its not like hes been choking at international turny for too long.
thornton has been excellent, his line is more offensive than i imagine, i thought they were supposed to be the so call 4th line.
personally i dont like the format. im used to the best of 7 series in the nhl. in this turny u can win 3 games and lose 1 and u'll be the first team out of the turny. lets hope dat doesnt happen to canada *finger crossed*. i dont think sweden and russia put up a good fight trizz, specially sweden, they folded like some cheap tent after the 2nd goal. still, canada shouldnt underestimate slovak.

Sweden was 2nd on my list too although I wouldn't use the world "favorite". Aside from Canada, I don't freaking care. It's just that on paper, Sweden looked 2nd best. I'm really scared of the Czechs now. You never know with them. I hope that we'll beat the Slovaks and I don't see why not and I'm dreaming of Canada pounding the Czechs to humilation. You don't know how much I absolutely HATE Czech players and fans. Their players are sneaky and cheepy and their fans are totally biased and disrepectful of Canadian hockey. I hate them with a passion.

wow, what did the czech (players and fans) do? i dont really remember any major incident w/ them and the canadians. mabbe they got a little cocky after the '98 olympics, but dats only becuz they won gold.
i think the czech will only get better from now on, since jagr is injured and wont play for them (for this turny or ever again), jagr is such a cancer in the locker room, too bad hes gone cuz i hate the czech too.

If you frequent other hockey discussion forums, you'd know. It's since the World Cup of 1996 that I've been discussing international hockey with people around the world and I'm very much aware of European fans mentality. The Czechs, Slovaks and the Russians are totally biased against us and have NO RESPECT at all towards Canadian hockey but the Czechs are the worse. When we win, it's always because we cheat and they start to imagine conspiracies everywhere. As for the Czech players, they are dirty and sneaky. Everytime we play against them, there's a scramble and that's because Canadian players can't stand all the sticks in their face. Czechs also dive A LOT, they're lousy actors but effective enough for international refs. I also hate their lack of interest when they play in the NHL but you can see that they're totally different when they play for their country. I can understand that their country is more important but the NHL is their job. You do want to perform at work right? Well it's the same thing with the NHL but they seem to just tag along with no heart.

I don't think it matters much. I believe the Czechs are our biggest obstacle. The Finns are hard workers but I didn't see great talent in their play against the Americans. The Czechs though look extremely dangerous.

Oh gee, look at that. The puck hasn't dropped yet and a Czech or Slovak fan is already certain that we're going to cheat. Read Asmodian's post near the bottom of the page (the 35th post).

all these stuff comes w/ being the best team in the world, they are jealous of us cuz we are so good. u wont hear them saying the german cheated cuz they just arent worth it. its kinda like the same thing with the americans in the olympics tho, lots of ppl i talked to say the american cheats and bribe to get the most medals everytime. i dunno if thats true, but they say things like that cuz the americans are the best (most medals anyways). i acutally take it as compliment.
i dont think all czech tries harder for their country, just look at jagr. but its different when u dress for ya country. to look down and see the maple leaf (not toronto) on ya chest will make most canadian player plays better. its not dat they dont try in the nhl, its just different.

i would've like to see a canada vs usa final, but oh well, i hate the americans anyways so its probably better they dont make the finals
czechs will be tough, but finland reminds me of the calgary flames, and u know those teams can be tough, specially when its a best of 1 "series".

It's jealousy but it's also simply because we're North Americans. Remember that it has only been recently that Canada is successful. A few years ago, we didn't win much internationally except for the WJC and even then, Europeans had no respect.

As for cheating in sport, my view is that Americans are biased but I believe the real cheaters are the Eastern Europeans. They are used to that so it's easy for them to think that others do the same.

You clearly didn't see Jagr at the World Championship. He was determined I could see it. With Canadians, I truly believe we play very hard both for our country and also for their respective clubs. Not always but most of the time. That's the difference between them and us. Am I biased? Maybe, but I doubt it. I don't defend a player just because he's Canadian.

Until you experience the European fans (especially Eastern) in every single significant international hockey competition, you won't understand them. Jealousy is a too easy conclusion. It is rooted in their social and political fabric.

    CZECH, MATE

A Czech journalist asked Team Canada's Joe Sakic if he expected Czech players to be fatigued and possibly jet-lagged, to which Sakic replied: "I hope so."

He then asked Sakic if he felt it was fair that the European pool teams had to travel to North America, while the Canadian team remained in Toronto.

    Sakic wasn't sympathetic.

"That's the way the tournament is. What are you going to do? Can't complain, can you? You can't make excuses," Sakic said.
Good reply Sakic. That's why you've always been my favorite player. Talented, skillful, humble and smart.

wow, that was the most supenseful game ever, i was at a party watching it and the whole house erupted when we scored the winner, it was crazy. ne ways not it's canada vs czech, and i believe we past our greatest obstacle ever, even greater than the states, cause the czechs are the most dangerous team ever, tha's if they play well, and we did get some really good lucky break, and luongo, i'm scared everytime he tries to make a save ne ways all good now, noe i'll wait for the finals
