The USA's future is not as bleak as Sweden's. The US did at least win Gold at this year's WJC. Sweden hasn't won a medal at the WJC in 8 years! After Sundin, Naslund, Forsberg, Alfredsson and Lidstrom, there's no one else. Zetterberg is good but not great. Their best prospects are Alexander Steen and Robert Nilsson and I saw them at the last WJC and they're pretty blah.

ya that's true, but what the americans got now ain't that good, and truthfully, sweden is screwed if they don't produce some pretty nice players in the near future, hey just wondering how many swedes are in this year's entry draft?

sweden have ZERO first rounder in the 04 entry draft. they are in deep deep trouble. but they have the sedins coming up! haha, j/k. yea they are screwed in 5 yrs.
finland is gonna be a powerhouse in the future, they have so much young talent in goal they can rival canada as the goalie factory of the nhl.
usa will be ok, wont scare many countries me think, but wont be as bad as sweden. paraise, dunno if i spelled his name rite, should be a good one. keep an eye on him.
czech still have some younger sniper, as do slovak, but their D is really lacking.
russia will always be among the most talented, but they dont play like a team so i dont see how they can win.
i think this WCH opened alotta eyes, ppl used to think finland are push overs, but they showed us. it also showed how much trouble some nations are.

Sweden and Germany as far as i can see are screwed over for the next five years, slovaks and czechs are great, but they need some work, russia ya they are great and talented and they do pose a treat but ya they play as individuals not a team and if they work on their team play they will ace for sure, finland has gone from hoping to knowing they can do ne thing they can. And our team, got everything, we just gotta play consistent in some games, remember the czech game, we got owned

It's Zach Parise. Parisé is a French name. In fact, his father, J.P. Parise, was a member of Team Canada at the 1972 Summit Series.

parise is a 1st round pick by the devils from the '03 draft, hes lead the WJC in points this yr i think. just from everything i read he should be a great player.
yea crosby i heard was drafted by WHA, but i dont think dat league will even get off the ground. they ahve no building, no GMs, no players under contract, they have no hope of playing this yr i think

Well for one, Zach Parise is talented but nowhere near Crosby. If you don't really follow prospects, it's quite normal that you never heard of Parise while Crosby is just really, really special and anyone remotely interested in hockey should know Crosby.

i dont think dats what he means, i think what he means (and i dont wanna put words into canuck21's mouth) is that its normal u never heard of parise cuz hes not as good (therefore not as hyped) as crosby, but taht anybody dat watch the game should know who crosby is, dats all. u clearly have heard of crosby, but not parise, and dats ok cuz parise isnt a prodigy like crosby is.

i'll be watching sportsnet for live broadcast of Modo games. apparently they are gonna show 2 games each wk go naslund, forsberg, sedins, ohlund, etc!!
i'll also watch some whl, i'll start going to Van Giants games, and gerernally whatever hockey they have on tv. the thing is, i no longer have 3 hrs to sit in front of the tv watching games anymore, so this lockout wont affect me as much.

So you're saying I don't have a life? Now who's insulting who? He he... Seriously, let me rephrase it for you... You never heard of Zach Parise because he's good but not a phenomenon like Sidney Crosby is hyped to be. So unless you're a hockey freak, it is NORMAL to not know who he is.

Btw, I don't watch many hockey games either. I almost never watch NHL games. As I've said before, I'm a fan of internatioanal hockey and the only hockey I watch each year are the World Junior Championships and the World Championships. The last WJC was the first time I ever heard of Parise.

Being a freak is not necessary bad. It just means that you're passionate about something. I believe everyone is a freak of something.
