Wait, take out Linden and put Sakic, then Leetch after that for my list.

After last year's playoff, I got a soft spot for Iginla too.
It's not that hard, man. You once told me that it just didn't feel like a hockey discussion without me. Then again, you might not remember because I guess I'm just "some guy" to you huh.

    Hey buddy (someguy44) welcome back

Ya I been busy too I don't post here as much as I wanted to. Also is not the same without an NHL seasons

Sakic is a great player and I heard of him playing since I was a wee little guy in the WHL when he played in the Swift Current Broncos.

For great defensemen, I still think Orr was the best, he can do both scoring and play defense. I think if Wendal Clark played his original junior position as a defensemen his career would be longer.

Well, I'm retired as "someguy44". He no longer walks amongst this dimension. Anyway, I said I wanted to retire and come back when my Chinese is good enough. Of course, that didn't happened even though I spent a whole year in China / Taiwan. Anyway, Someguy44 posted a thousand posts (including deleted ones) so I thought it was a good time to retire him. Long live ZhaoZilong44!!! (until at least a thousand posts. hehe)

For pure talent, I always thought of Orr as better than Lemieux or Gretzky. Remember, the guy got a 150 pts for a d-man in the low scoring 70's. Sakic is a great player, but what I like about him even more is that he's a nice guy. I have friends who know him personally and they told me he's a pretty nice guy (just like Linden although I've only met Trevor and have never met Joe).

Trizz, I didn't have hockey for a whole year so I know how you guys feel. I didn't really miss it as much as I thought, but I did get to hear the Nucks vs Flames on online radio las April/May and downloaded the 7th game of the Bolts/Flames game. I was in China at the time btw.

Orr was not only a great offensive force he was also a great defensive force too.

The thing I like about him was he doesn't play by the restriction and also play his role. Yes he jumps in a lot of attacks but he gets back when his team needs him the most.

Lot so great players are either great offense or defensive player but I think he is the total package.

i heard orr was a physical player too, he fought a few guys (and won) and he hits. he revolutionalize the position of Dmen, without him todays Dmen wont be leading the rush (like jovanovski). but in terms of the most physically talented player its gotta be lemieux. the guy can do things w/ the puck that nobody can, just watching his hi-lites makes me dizzy.

ps. wow i wonder how long it'll take me to retire this account, i've been posting here for a year and i dont have close to 1000 posts! how'd u guys post so much!?!?

pps. i saw naslund on saturday! hes really kinda shy haha

I haven't seen ne hockey players for quite a while, but ya orr revolutionized everything, if it's not for him, the defencemens won't be behind the net like jovo for instance, and yes lemieux rocks, he's plays the puck like it's another arm

p.s. to superkaratemonkey, i'm here for a almost a year and i hit 2000 already, but ya go to the open debate section, they have some great things there

To me Coffey (when he was younger) was the next closest thing to playing Orr style... There is Leetch who play too offensive and there is Bourque who play too defensive.

Super Mario is awsome... He has the size and the grace but he always live under The Great one's shadow...

Howe was pretty good too but I think he lost it when he play too much and too long of a career.

come to sfu, i'll show u around
funny how we keep on chattin here even though theres not even a season eh?
i read some parts of the latest nhlpa proposal and its kinda disappointing, it made lots of cut in payroll in the short run, but in the long run the owners are still getting screwed. i think this is just the nhlpa attempt to win back some support from the fans.

Anyone into tons of hockey highlights from the past?

Here's a link of great saves, goals, fights, hits, etc...

    http://www.hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=106187

I thought the guy scoring on his own net was just hilarious.
    He even celebrated.

Oh SFU definitely has the most beautiful campus in Canada. UBC is like a small city, but the one great thing that makes UBC appealing is that they have their own nude beach. I don't think there's another school on this planet that has their own nude beach. I've never been to U of A, but I've been to Ryerson, U of T, York, U of M, Brandon U, U Vic, and Trinity. U of T is like a small city simliar to UBC, but UBC has the taller buildings and the much larger land.
