I thought the guy scoring on his own net was just hilarious.
    He even celebrated.

Oh SFU definitely has the most beautiful campus in Canada. UBC is like a small city, but the one great thing that makes UBC appealing is that they have their own nude beach. I don't think there's another school on this planet that has their own nude beach. I've never been to U of A, but I've been to Ryerson, U of T, York, U of M, Brandon U, U Vic, and Trinity. U of T is like a small city simliar to UBC, but UBC has the taller buildings and the much larger land.
hey u post at hfboards? whats ya username there? im there like every single day lol. goto the nhl talk board, they have a link for a really funny hockey joke.
sfu is most beautiful? i dont really notice it. but it'll be ALOT better in the future cuz they are tryin to make it look as nice as possible for the 2010 olympics. we have, now and the future, many new constructions going on rite now, its nuts!!

trizz-u have the #1000 post on this thread! congrats!! u beat me to it, damn!

I will doubt NHL hockey season will start this year. Bettman is too much of a tought butt to want to start the game. I doubt he even likes hockey. To him is all power and money.

There are some owners and player breaking though you can tell. They just want the game to start again.

i dont think its completely his choice, im sure the owners get a say in it. i mean if i have hundreds of millions invested in a team and the nhlpa make a good offer, i would force bettman to accept it or i'll fire his @$$. but so far the offers from nhlpa hasnt been that great yet.

don't worry superkaratemonkey, when we get 1500 we'll let you get it, but seriously the nhlpa makes horrible proposals no wonder we don't have hockey, i think they are the one that need a corporate restructure

I don't know who will give up first... from the way things are players are cracking more then the owners...

I still think the party that get screwed the most is the fans... like Molson Canadian did in their commercial...

Someguy44 of course. Then again, I don't really post that much these days. I used to post a lot in the old fanhome till they moved to the Insiders site. After that, a mass exodus of posters went over to the HF boards. Anyway, what's ur username over at HF?

SFU to me has the best site for a campus cause it's on top of a hill and the scenery (inside or out) looks great. I've been to several universities outside of Canada and let me say that their concerns weren't about the look of the campuses.

i think the party that will get screwed the most is gonna be the pubs and bars cause during big games and weekends is when they get all their money.

plus the reason why the players are cracking it's because they are still spending money like b4, but the owners accumulated some money as a reserve b4 the lock out, they saw it coming

my user name at HF is the same as here
sfu is nice for view ans scenery, but its freakin cold from october to march, the science dept looks like jail, and smells funny everywhere. i heard some Uni in the states (even the most well known ones like howard) are tiny. oh well, im sure sfu is pretty decent, i was so in awe by it my first week there. now its like "mah, its no big deal".

trizz- i heard the nhlpa is gonna pay all its members $100,000USD per month for the remaining of the lockout. dats more than what some doctors get, so as long as they cut back on their red wine and caviar i think they'll be fine

This is amazing this place is more active than b4, theres no hockey, and we're posting in here more than we did during the off seasons, how does that work.

WOW 100000 USD a month are they nuts, omg where did they get all that money?

i think the nhlpa told all the players to prepare for a long lockout, and took an extra 5% from their paycheque to save up, now they are using that money to pay the players. kinda like how the owners save up a "war chest" so they have money during the lockout.

I'm not a NHL fan. So here is my question: Why is it that NHL players can't accept the salary? Football has it, and so does NBA (eventhough, it's kinda joke), and both of players in these two sports seem okay with that.

It's because the NHL players all want to make as much money as their skills is worth, it doesn't matter if it's taking all the money out of their clubs, they will still do it

LoL......Owners need to save up a 'war chest'? Most these guys are Billionaires. I guess they must buckle up now, tighten the belt, and not spring for those $2000 haircuts.

As to this Lock out, I feel the problem started in 1994, if they signed a good deal, none of this would have happened.

i don't care if this lockup lasts a long time. What they need to do is fix the problems that exist in the league. I remember (being from Vancouver) in 94 when the Canucks played the Rangers and it's regarded as one of the best stanley cup finals ever. NHL was at the peak of it's popularity. In a matter of ten years (today) so much has changed. Ever since Lemaire won the cup using the awful Neutral Zone Trap, hockey has gotten more boring each year. So take as much time as they need as long as they can fix the problems

but this lock out isnt about solving those problems, its about signing a new cba. whatever they make the new cba to be, the nhl hockey will still look the same as before.

the previous CBA is where all the problems are. They need to have a new CBA where the salaries are under control. Ticket prices are getting more and more expensive because it's the only way the owners can keep up with salaries and make a profit. That's the reason why i love watching the BC Lions. 30 bucks i get 2 tickets and a great night of entertainment.

But that's football, and it's the CFL they are different from the NHL and seriously i think even if they sign a better CBA hockey will still be that neutral zone trap that the devils play really well

haha ya i know what u mean. It was a just a rant i wanted to let loose because it has been buggin me for a while.

CBA aside, lets talk about the game itself. Last season they had like former NHLers like Roy and Bourque to comment on how to improve the game. I personally like the touch up offside they use to use instead of the delayed offside. And god i hate how they moved the goaline ahead to give more room for ppl behing the net. Personally i thought that made the trap worse because the bluelines would be closer to the neutral zone. I mean Gretzky didn't have problems behind the net

ya i get what you mean and they should really fix up how the ice looks like kill those ppl who play traps, the anahiem and new jersey series i swear i fell asleep every single game it was that boring, but the calgary tampa series, that was excellent it shown that there is a way to get rid of the trap and now it's all up to the NHL to fix that
