What a sad way to cap the ending of 2003. First we lost Leslie and now Anita... May she rest in peace...

Cantopop diva Anita Mui has lost her fight against cervical cancer. She passed away at around 3am this morning. She was 40 years old. The star, one of Hong Kong's most popular singers for over two decades had been hospitalised earlier on Monday. Many of her celebrity friends including Jackie Chan and Nicholas Tse had rushed to the hospital to see her. The singer held a series of concerts in November and had put on a brave public face, saying she would overcome her illness.

Anita Mui passed away last night, at 2:50am local time. The cause is said to be lung disorder resulting from her cancer.

this year so many stars died: roman, leslie, anita and a week ago, "xiao hei" died Not to mention with other sad things like sars... Not a happy year this year. Hopefully, 2004 would be better.

yup yup... very sad... 2003 gotta gotta be the worst... many celebrities + 1 in my family in January 2003

I stopped listening to others singer music... and took back a couple of her old cd's & redownload couple of Mp3's (which were the best...) guess I'll be playing them all day all night... grew up when she was the best in the 80's and early 90's .... she'll be missed by lots of people... R.I.P

I was saddened to hear about Anita Mui's passing today. Like Roman Tam and Leslie Cheung before her, Anita was a great talent who was taken from the world much too early. In addition to being a gifted singer, Anita was known as quite an admirable person. A few years ago, she staunchly defended the privacy of her friend actress Carina Lau after the news media had become excessively invasive about a kidnapping controversy that had occurred a decade earlier.

She will be missed, and her songs will be played forever.

Yep. Many good artistes have left in this year. What's wrong with this year anyway? O__O()

Although I'm never a fan of Anita's, but I do quite like her and it's sad that she passed away at the prime of 40. >.<
