Quick summary (someone has helped me to translate into my mother tongue. My summary here will be done on the basis of the translation, :P)

- Da Hang Hai (or Zheng He) has been secretly filmed at many locations including HaiNan, Hengdian, Beijing, ect...

- There're two teams working in parallel. Tang is on team A, currently filming in Beijing. Lo is on team B, wrapping up filming in NaiHan and other coastal locations. They'll be waiting for team A to wrap up and enter post-production at the end of next month.

- There's been a total of 8 boats constructed merely for the purpose of filming, including an attacker and a rescuer (pardon my terminology, as I'm not familiar with marine ) Once entering post-production, computer graphic will be used to multiply them and to complete scenes/ battle scenes as needed.

If anyone has the time, please help in providing a better translation.

Lady Zhuge: I've just started to gather information about Tang Guo Qiang lately. I am actually a Gallen's fan and one fine day he (Gallen) said that he was so thrilled to be able to meet and chat with Tang Guo Qiang on calligraphy. That was on The Exile of Lady Wang's set. Then I went on and googled some searches (with great difficulty since I'm not Chinese). Another fine day I stumbled onto this board Since then you know the story

I've recently finished watching "Nu Ren Tang" (Woman's Hotspring). A heads-up: Don't watch this series just to see Tang Guo Qiang. His face may be largest on the cover and they advertise it as something like "another epic piece following 'Chang Zheng' and 'Yong Zheng Wang Chao'", but that's a load of crap. TGQ is only in it for the first two episodes excluding flashbacks. I think TGQ did more background work for this series (as part of the production team) than in front of the camera.

The series itself isn't too bad and features a good-looking main cast of Yu Bo, Zhang Yan, Liu Xiao Feng, and Huo Si Yan. The director is Taiwanese so there's quite a bit of overdramatization and loud background music to set the mood.

I wonder why there's still not a sina or some other main site for this production yet?

After this series, TGQ will be playing Mao Ze Dong for the nth time in a series called Xi An Shi Bian ( 西安事变 ) that will star Sun Hong Lei as Zhang Xue Liang. Da Hang Hai should be done filming soon since XASB is scheduled to start filming at the end of this month (March).

TGQ has two new series since the last time I've posted here: Hu Jia Han Yue ( 胡笳汉月 ) and Nei Ge Shou Fu Zhang Ju Zheng ( 内阁首辅张居正 ). He will be playing Xiao Wen Di's master/teacher in HJHY. In the other series, he stars with Yang Xue in a love story involving a man of 60 and a girl of around 16 as they show that age is not a barrier. Say what you will, but they didn't have those kinds of laws back then...

Hi, I am new here, and if you haven't notice already, I am a fan of TGQ too. First things first, the pictures you posted for 贞观长歌 above are really funny(no offense, I just think they are). TGQ was like so happy because he was surrounded by women , it was almost like he was saying, "Hey! Look at me! I am surrounded by all these women! I am so happy! I am definitely the Ladies' Man!" Lmao

TGQ seems to have gained a few pounds in JSFYQ(Or did they just puffed him off to make him look stocky?). Did he lose weight after this? Seems like he did quite a bit by looking at these recent photos of NGSFZJZ. By the way, TGQ's English name is Angus?

A 60 year old gentleman and a 16 year old girl? Don't worry, I love/dig these pairings. Which reminds me, I never had enough of the Yongzheng-ex 14th brother later Yongzheng servant girl pair in YZWC. Romance doesn't blossom, like, the last 10 episodes of the drama? Before I knew it, Yongzheng sent her back to 14th brother already! I was like, Damn! The romance was too short!

Back to the NGSFZJZ photos Lady Zhuge just posted. Awwwww, they look so cute together! I found some other photos of the drama, including one shot with TGQ in the red robe from the front. This fits perfectly with the photos of red-robed TGQ above. Makes a great set! Now you can all immerse yourself with red-robed ZJZ-TGQ photos from all directions(left-right-front-back)! Lol

Yes, he's definitely not the size he was back when he played Kongming. There's more "front" for sure. Angus is apparently his English name, but I'm not sure if it's even official. His series were under that name on some online DVD site.

About the romance you're talking about in YZWC, I was actually kind of torn about it. On the one hand, 14th brother did save that girl and she's the only love he seemed to have. They were mutually devoted to one another until Yong Zheng forced them to separate. On the other hand, Yong Zheng was an emperor with an empress and other concubines, but he actually felt very lonely in his position while unfairly getting a bad rap. Ultimately I think the ending was melancholy, but appropriate.

I think I saw a TVB version about Qian Long Da Di. It was more wu xia though. Usually anything TVB produces is (no offense to them) not really historically correct. What they produce is mainly for the purpose of entertainment, and not other stuff. I find TVB series lacking the depth and intelligence that mainland series has.

You are absolutely right. I don't really like Hong Kong series much (my canto is crap so I usually watch the mandarin-dubbed version). I remember an ATV series in the 80s about Zhuge Liang's life (starring Adam Cheng) and the plot was just shocking. As if portraying Zhuge Liang as a martial arts expert wasn't bad enough, they also paired him up with Xiao Qiao (Zhou Yu's wife).

What a coincidence. I watched a series with the same name Zheng He Xia Xi Yang when I was 5. I really liked the show. It's very historical and the acting, props were so natural. Classic chinese series.

Hope Da Hang Hai will live up to our expectations. i like Zheng He's amazing feat in history. Apparently, it's even greater than Columbus's voyage, isn't it?

Hi! Just discovered this forum! I got to know Tang Guoqiang only after watching his performance as Emperor Yongle in "Zheng He Xia Xi Yang". And then I found out that he acted as Zhuge Liang in Romance of the Three Kingdom and I bought the dvd! Amazing actor! I am now his fan!!
