Yeah, I think you're right to skip part II. I was so dissappointed that I'm not in the mood for part III. However, if it's broadcasted on the local channel, I'll give Chen Bao Guo a look. I also like Zhou Jie more than Lu Yi although I'm not a fan of both. I think ZJ's acting as Bao Zheng is more suitable, more funny. I don't remember if there's anyone replacing Pang Tai Shi, maybe I'll check it out. Anyway it's not worth watching.

According to jade, Pang Tai Shi wasn't in part II.

No, this is not a new series. I've never seen it before and it didn't get very good viewer reviews at Tigercool.com, so I was trying to get some second opinions.

"Jian Lin Tian Xia" seems to be advertised as more of a separate series, but I'm pretty sure that it is SNBQT III. The actor who plays Bao Zheng in it is Wang Xue Bing. I've grown to dislike him more and more because every time I see him, he just reminds me of a block of wood. He just doesn't come off as very smart, witty, or the least bit entertaining either and I fail to see much versatility in his acting. Sure, I'll let you know what I think about the conclusion of III once I finish watching it. Without giving too much away, what aspect of the story was left unfinished? I mean, I hope it wasn't the big case or something, because then I would be pretty upset. There will probably be a part IV in the future, though.

Hi, Lady Zhuge how are you coming along with Jian Lin Tian Xia? I'm sorry to tell you that the big case is what's left unfinished in the end. I was pretty upset when I finished the series, I hope they come up with part 4 soon because the ending really sucked. Since you seem to read Chinese well, did you hear anything about a part 4?

The only series that I saw both of them in was Nu Xu An, and I really didn't like the series that much, especially the woman who plays the lead and dresses as her died husband. She really irritated me, and I watched up to the part where CDM and CBG's character met, and stopped.

I've been trying to update my progress in the "Jian Lin Tian Xia" thread, but I guess here is good enough too. I only have 7 more episodes to go now and am on the last case. The second to last one was sort of connected to the final one because of the masked guys and their mysterious, but powerful leader. Their presence has stimulated Ao Xue to start regaining her memory!
Whaaaa....?!? The last case is left unfinished?!? Does that mean they don't reveal who the mysterious masked leader is? You did watch the entire 47 episodes, right? Which case was your favorite? How about in YJB I, which case did you enjoy the most in there if you still remember them? (Others who've watched either series can answer the question as well. )

I actually don't read Chinese very well, but I do try to get some practice once in awhile. I haven't heard anything about a part IV yet, but given the popularity of the YJB series and the fact that this most recent one leaves you hanging (?), there is a good chance that there will be at least another installment. If and whenever that will be made and who will be in it is beyond me, though. This might also be wishful thinking too, since I love this type of series so much.

I actually enjoyed what I saw of "Nu Xun An", so I still plan on continuing it some time.

I don't know why you find Sun Cui Feng irritating, but I really enjoyed it very much. I think it's a good series for entertainment, and the casts also did good work, esp. CDM. I think he and Sun Cui Feng pair up well together(much more chemistry between them than him with Alyssa ). If my memory doesn't beat me I heard that the actress he likes to corporate most is SCF.

Yeah, at least SCF is closer to his age than Alyssa is.

Thanks survivor_gal! Again, happy Chinese New Year to you and every other CDM fan as well!

You were right about the ending of "Jian Lin Tian Xia", jade. I finished watching the series over the weekend. I don't feel like repeating myself here, but you can read my overall thoughts on it in the JLTX thread or more specifically, here.

Yes, I did watch all 47 chapters of JLTX, and basically you never find out who the masked leader is. There seems to be two power leader, one is someone ba xian wang is trying to protect (guess who?) the other is the evil person behind the plot with ties to the government (but it's not pang tai shi). However Pang Tai Shi is involved in the plot to frame ba xian wang. Basically at the end your left really confused and sad.

My favorite part of JLTX has to be the beginning. I thought the bickering between ba xian wang and pang tai shi was great. I also found Ao Xue and Zan Xiao to be quite hilarious in the beginning and also in the soccor killing case.

As for SBNQT 1, I really liked all the cases that CDM appeared in. The case involving the killing of the Korean Prince, was the first time that I was introduced to this great actor. From that point on I've been a avid fan ever since. But my favorite has to be the case at the end involving the true identity of the king and the framing of ba xian wang. I thought the plot was cleverly conceived and all the performances were great.

Anyways I hope the make a part 4 soon, because I hate unfinished endings. Hopefully they won't change the cast like they did in part 2. Have a great and prosperous New Year to all CDM fans.

Yeah, the ending of JLTX was pretty sad. I mean, it was good that there was no war between the Song and the Liao for awhile according to the narrator, but whatever happened to Ba Xian Wang? I guess he really did end up sacrificing himself for the emperor's sake this time. In the first installment, he was saved in the nick of time by Bao Zheng, but not this time around. Pang Tai Shi's main goal was not actually to frame Ba Xian Wang. His true target was the emperor and was very upset that Ba Xian Wang foiled his big plan. If they do make a part 4, I hope they don't have Wang Xue Bing playing Bao Zheng again. I like the rest of the main cast, though.

I finally watched all three "Infernal Affairs" films! I enjoyed the first one the most. The second one was my least favorite and three was kind of confusing with all the going back and forth between time. Anyway, since this is the CDM thread, I must say that he did a great job in III. He had me fooled 'cause I thought he was really some badass triad boss...

I haven't watched any of the three, but i've seen a short clip of part III, and CDM appearance made strong impression on me. He looks like a ringleader . However, I didn't receive any good comment on this part, that's why I don't buy the whole. It's certainly not his fault, but I still decide not to watch. In the movies, his make-up make him quite older than in reality, I think. Honestly, I haven't seen him in many modern movies, but his She Ming Wu in Hei Dong seems to be the one in which he's youngest. I don't know why the role She Ming Wu made deep impression on me with his very very cool and stylish appearance.

Have you seen Hei Dong(Black Hole) yet, jade?

Yes, Fei Fei I saw Black Hole a few years ago. I usually don't like to watch modern tv series, because I perfer to watch period pieces instead, but since CDM was in it I decided to give it a try. This was the first time that I saw CDM play a bad guy, at first it was kind of shocking, but his performance was excellent as usual. This character became one of my favorites, because he was so complex. This was the first time that I actually wanted the bad guy to win at the end. The reason that I like CDM so much is because that regardless of what type of character that he plays. He is able to completely disappear flawlessly into that character, and really make you believe that he is that character.

Just because of that reason I wasn't able to watch Winter Solistic. I purchased that series awhile ago, but watched only a few episodes. His character was so weak and miserable that I couldn't watch anymore. Did you see that tv series? Did anyone watch the complete Winter Solistic series, please let me know if it's worth continuing?

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. When my local channel started to broadcast the series, they didn't advertise it as much as others, they even didn't mention about CDM, and honestly I don't really like such story, you know, about the police against bribery, smuggle and that sort of thing. So I didn't pay atenttion to it until my sister told me that she had just remember the main atagonist was CDM. The result is that I've just seen the second half However, I was attracted by his outstanding performance, I even don't want his character to die at the end I esp. like the sceen when he's in the bar with his younger sister after the death of his assistant(I can't remember his name). He feels very sad and lonesome at the time, and the only one he find to have a drink with is his sister. But he can't tell her what's going on in his mind, and he's about to cry There's no tear as he doesn't want to cry in front of his sister, but his facial expression at the time shows his deep sorrow, and he stands up and leaves. That's the first time I've seen him cry, it was so moving that I'm sure I'll never forget the sceen.

As I didn't watch the first half, could you tell me what happen? Why he hate his father so much that he can't forgive him. And he does all the things just to revenge his dad, right?

No, I haven't seen it yet. But I think it's worth wacthing just because he was in it. Even his charater was weak and miserable, I believe he won't make you disapointed with his performance. So why don't you try? If only I had the series! I always like to see him in more different charaters.

    Hi Fei Fei,
I watched Black Hole a few years ago, so my memories a little sketchy. However I remember that the movie started with CDM's character killing a man in his office with poison injected into the top of a bottle of water.(he was trying to blackmail CDM) He drives with the body in his trunk and buries it in a remote isolated area. After he kills and buries the body he makes his way to a temple and prays. So right from the beginning you know this character is complicated. He has a beautiful wife, but he doesn't seem to care for her. However when he learns that she is having an affair it seems to affects him greatly. He kills her lover, but I'm not sure if it's because of the affair or the fact that they plan to expose him. His wife is pregnant by her lover, but CDM's character plans to raise the child as his own, eventhough his wife wants the child aborted. He world is very disciplined, those who wronged him are always punished.

As for his father, his hatred seems to be credited to his childhood. His childhood was very unhappy, I believe it was due to his father's political views or political position. Basically he was responsible for not only raising himself, but raising his sister. He felt his parents abandoned them, especially his father. I'm not too familar with Chinese history, but it's probably similar to what happened during the cultural revolution.

Hi! Has anyone watched "Yi Di Ji Mao"? Went shopping the other day and came across this series of Chen Daoming which was on sale so I bought it... Unfortunately, I do not have the chance to watch it due to study commitments so probably have to wait till the holidays... Watched the first episode but it was kind of boring but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will get better cos CDM is in it!

Lady Zhuge, now that you have watched Infernal affairs 3, which was your favourite scene? Mine was the one Chen Daoming walked over towards Tony Leung at the bar scene and suddenly hit him on the head with a bottle! That scene was damn cool! He just acted as it nothing has happened! I personally think that CDM acted in too few scenes in the movie which was a little bit of a disappointment but overall, his performance was good!

Wow, what an impressive role! I didn't know that the film started like that. As for his wife, I think he doesn't care much for her, even when he knows she is pregnant and she tells him that she wants to keep, he just says: "What a good mother!" I think he kills her lover just because they intend to expose him. The only one he cares for is his younger sister, I suppose. What a pity he indirectly kills her at the end.

Tie Lin Dao Ming, It's Nu Xun An or The Female Official. I didn't know that you like Tie Lin, too. Haha. There's also a Tie Lin's thread. Anyway,as usual, just welcome you to the thread! Your avatar is good, just that I don't like Tie Lin
as much as CDM, so I'll never do like that. However, if you like both, it's OK
