Hi! Has anyone watched "Yi Di Ji Mao"? Went shopping the other day and came across this series of Chen Daoming which was on sale so I bought it... Unfortunately, I do not have the chance to watch it due to study commitments so probably have to wait till the holidays... Watched the first episode but it was kind of boring but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will get better cos CDM is in it!

I watched one episode of that series and stopped. It was just sooooo dull. I may go back one day and finish watching it since it's not very long. If you do continue watching it, please let me know if it ever gets more interesting.

Lady Zhuge, now that you have watched Infernal affairs 3, which was your favourite scene? Mine was the one Chen Daoming walked over towards Tony Leung at the bar scene and suddenly hit him on the head with a bottle! That scene was damn cool! He just acted as it nothing has happened! I personally think that CDM acted in too few scenes in the movie which was a little bit of a disappointment but overall, his performance was good!

The bar scene was my favorite too! Poor Tony, though. That's gotta smart. I agree, CDM didn't get enough screentime and the movie overall wasn't that great, but it was better than the second movie, which was quite boring. I found the first one to be the most entertaining of the three.

I'm a fan of Uncle Ming I really watched some of his series, I most like the series is Nữ Tuần Án (I don't know how to write it in English ), woa, that series is so great, funny and I can watch it all day

In reference to "Black Hole", I don't think anyone said he killed his mother. From what I've read, he killed his lover and indirectly caused the death of his sister.

Wow, what an impressive role! I didn't know that the film started like that. As for his wife, I think he doesn't care much for her, even when he knows she is pregnant and she tells him that she wants to keep, he just says: "What a good mother!" I think he kills her lover just because they intend to expose him. The only one he cares for is his younger sister, I suppose. What a pity he indirectly kills her at the end.

Fei Fei did you know that you can buy CDM series on ebay for a fraction of what you pay anywhere else. It's all a matter of looking, Black Hole was on sale for about $14 last time, but I forgot to bid. Right now they have Chinese Style Divorce for sale, so if your interested take a look. As for your advice on Winter Soltice, I will definetly give it another try. Any CDM performance is never a waste of time, but since I'm watching several other series at this time it might be awhile until I get around to watching it. I'll let you know if it's any good.

He didn't kill his mother nor his lover. In fact, He killed his wife's lover.

He commits suicide at the end in front of the police coming to catch him. The police is aslo his old friend when they were in the army. Even his way of suicide is surprising and impressive. He drinks poison. Not until he falls down does the police know what he's just drunk. Haha.

Do you feel that CDM's character was a pitiable villain? His character sounds a lot like the serial killer in another series that I'm currently watching called "Si Wang Ri Ji". Both had traumatic childhoods that have made them coldblooded and detached and have experienced events that have contributed to their psychological discord.

I'm not sure as I didn't watch from the beginning, but I think it's because he showed no care for her. I wonder why he married her???????He just didn't consider her his wife. He even showed no feeling when she amitted having a baby with her lover. It shows that he didn't love her at all.
Yes, I feel his charater was a pitiable villain. I feel that he's not inborn coldblooded, it's just because he had a very terrible memory about his childhood, and wanted to revenge. And that was his choice. His life is a stragedy. Of course, he had to compensate for what he'd done, but I still feel sorry for him. If he'd been born in another family, I believe his life wouldn't have ended like that.

I wish I know what happened to him too.As I said earlier, I didn't watch from the beginning . His father is really a respected person who is a high-ranked official(I can't remember exactly what he is). But from what I know, he did do something like leaving his children on their own, don't care for them, or that kind of things. CDM's character has to live on his own, and care for his younger sister. And there're some other things that I don't know, but that's why he hates his father. The screenshot you saw is the sceen when everybody has already known he's the culprit. His father was ill, and he comed to tell him that he would confess. He wanted to know what his dad think, and he talked to him with no respect at all. At the end of their talk, he told his dad that he's telling lies. " Want me to confess? Wait until the next life", he said. His feeling was very complicated. And it's a very difficult role to play. But he did an excellent job
At the end, his father was imprisoned, his sister died, and his wife left.

According to Variety, John Woo is set to direct a live action adaptation of He-Man, which will be co-produced by Fox 2000 and Woo's Lion Rock Production. The screenplay will be written by Adam Rifkin. No date is given and it seems the project is still in the very early stage.
Currently John Woo and his Lion Rock are working on historical epic Battle Of Red Cliff with Chinese company Asian Union Film and Media. According to Hong Kong's Oriental Daily, John Woo denied the report that Chow Yun-Fat had refused to join the project. Woo has asked him to play Zhuge Liang, the top advisor to warlord Liu Bei. Chen Daoming, who portrayed the king in Hero, is in talk to play Liu Bei.

I've just run into this news and I wonder if it's right. I read in other thread that CDM may play Cao Cao so I don't know which is more exact???Does anyone have update info about this series?

The segment you quoted was from October of last year, so it's probably outdated. I was under the impression that CDM would be playing Cao Cao, but I'm not sure if the final cast has been confirmed yet since the most recent update on that site says it's been assured that CYF and Jet Li would be in the project while earlier it was mentioned that the production has a wish list composed of actors like CDM, Tony Leung CW, Gong Li, etc.

I'm watching a series but I don't know its name in English (Cuộc chiến sinh tử). The series itself is rather boring, all 13 first episodes just about 8 "mei ren". I wouldn't have watched until now if CDM wasn't there. He didn't appear until the 14th episode in the role of a "wang ye"(Đa Nhĩ Cổn, don't know English name again ) He's the one who helps the first king of Qing dynasty to take power. Has anyone seen it yet? I can't find a pic of this film as none of his webs mentioned about it. I want to know if it's worth watching. The plot isn't interesting and it let me down.

It was made in 2001. Luckily he's not the main character. Up to now, he's just appeared in one episode in no more than 10 minutes. It can be watched online at about 3pm (GMT +8) from Thursday to Sunday here. I know you won't understand it, but if you have time, just have a look in case you know it.
