Nope, I haven't seen "The Female Official" yet, but that's on my list of stuff to watch over winter break.
Why couldn't you get past the opening theme?![]()

the song did not sound very good and the quality if the production did not look like its a very good show..knowing how much u want to watch this, I would have lent it to you if u were living near me.
I don't think it's fair to judge a production just based on the opening song. A good opening segment doesn't necessarily mean the series will be good and a disapponting one doesn't necessarily mean the show will not be entertaining. Watch a couple of episodes at least.![]()
Thanks for your kind thought, but I already have this series, just haven't had time to watch it yet.

Me too. It's rather long since I last saw him in Hero.Btw, I came across another thread in this forum discussing about John Woo directing a movie about Romance of the Three Kingdoms(RoTK) and that Chen Daoming will probably be one of the actors involved. I just keep hoping that it is true because I just can't wait to see Chen Daoming in a movie again!
I'm not sure which role suits him best as he can play many different roles. I think KongMing is a suitable one as it's similar to DongFang Suo and Liu Fei, but I'm eager to see him in another character, and I wonder how he is in the role of Cao Cao.If CDM will be in a new RTK film, which role do you think he'd be best suited for?If he act well that role, it'll re-confirm his talent in a variety of character - and I believe he will. So hope to see him again soon.
I don't agree with you, strawberry. You shouldn't jugde a film just by its opening song. I've seen this film already, and I really enjoyed it very much. It's really good although I don't remember the theme songthe song did not sound very good and the quality if the production did not look like its a very good show... Try it, and you won't be dissapointed, and don't forget to pay attention to Liu Fei-CDM, it's the most intersting role, I think.

survival_goal, you mentioned this long ago, before I found this forum, so until now I've just read it. Anyway, I ran into some information in local newspaper that involves this matter. In the article he said that the role he likes best is the one in MO DA HUANG DI, in which he played the last king of China. That role had brought him the prize of the best actor in the role of a king. What a pity I haven't seen it yet. I really want to know what was the role he likes best like.My friend had read to me an article in the local Chinese newspaper that CDM however did not really think highly of his roles in both the Infernal Affairs 3 and Hero. He thought that the films were produced mainly to meet the audience's demands and to gain profits while sacrificing the qualities that a good film should have. He, as an actor with principles, chose his roles carefully. Did anyone of you read anything like this?.Have you seen it? It's rather old, so maybe it's difficult to find.

I know its not very fair but I could not help it...
ok..I will try again.
I'm really anxious to see him in the role of Cao Cao. At first I didn't think he'd fit the mold given my impression of Bao Guo An's near-perfect portrayal in the SGYY series, but I've changed my mind.Originally Posted by Fei Fei

"Mo Dai Huang Di"...isn't it also known as "The Last Emperor", or am I getting it confused with the film?Anyway, I think I've seen a clip of it. It involved CDM and one of his servants pulling pranks with a new invention at the time...the telephone! It was such a funny scene.
That was his favorite role? It's interesting how his favorite role and his favorite of his series ("Er Ma") are different.

Yes, it's The last Emperor. It's his favourite role according to the article, and I'm not sure if it's wrong. Anyway, I didn't know that his favourite series is a different one. Can this happen? If it's true, he's really an interesting person, more than I thought he was, although I have always thought he's very interesting."Mo Dai Huang Di"...isn't it also known as "The Last Emperor", or am I getting it confused with the film? Sorry to ask a fool question, but I don't know the series SGYY. What is it? I'm not sure if I know it as I'm not used to Chinese name. And what about Bao Guo An?I'm really anxious to see him in the role of Cao Cao. At first I didn't think he'd fit the mold given my impression of Bao Guo An's near-perfect portrayal in the SGYY series, but I've changed my mind.

According to one of his numerous websites, "Er Ma" is his favorite of his productions. It's also where I got most of the information in the introductory post of this thread. If the article is recent, then maybe it's more accurate? Or, maybe he's just a very interesting person (more interesting than we thought), as you said.Originally Posted by Fei Fei

SGYY = San Guo Yan Yi or Romance of the Three Kingdoms; it's one of my favorite series, though it's a bit lengthy at 84 total episodes. Bao Guo An is the actor who played Cao Cao in the series. No wait, he didn't just play Cao Cao, he was Cao Cao!Originally Posted by Fei Fei

Hi! Been extremely busy with my studies lately that I have no time to log in...Anyway, I will try my best to pop in once a while.
Nope, I haven't watch any of CDM series except for bits of Young Justice Bao 1 and ZGSLH.Originally posted by Fei Fei

I haven't read this great classic yet so I know nothing of the characters. Thus, no comment on what role is suitable for CDM as long as he stars in it!

What a pity you've just seen 2 of his series. I've seen, in time order, Nu Xun An(extremely good, which brought him to me), Young Justice Bao 1 (which made me become his fan), Da Han Tian Zi 1( Which I wacthed because he was there), Hei Dong( which I watched only the second half. Because I have to prepared for an important exam then, I didn't paid attention to TV film, and I didn't know he was there until my sister told me, and it has passed the first half.Originally Posted by survivor_gal

The article is not recent, actually. Contrarily, I think it's rather old. It's one of the only three articles about him in Vietnamese that I can find. And I don't know which it's tranlated from. So maybe it's not realiable. However, whether it's realiable or not, he's still a very interesting person.Originally Posted by Lady Zhuge

I watched the opening theme of "The Female Official" and I really like the song! Some of the images and colors leave a lot to be desired, but it seems like the series will be entertaining. CDM looks especially young with the makeup he's wearing.

Yeah, I agree with you. He's so young especially when he tells about his youth-even much more younger than what you've seen. You'll see that as you continue watching. They make him so young that it's a little funny, I think. And it's really a series for entertainment. What a pity I don't remember the theme song. If you can find it, do post the link for averyone to hear. Watch it and tell me what you think, which scene you like best. I'm afraid if I say too much now, you'll be annoyed. So just wait until you finish it, then we can discuss.Originally Posted by Lady Zhuge

The themesong used to be available at one of CDM's websites, but it got taken down. It sounds like a very romantic and sweet song, although not necessarily befitting of a rather comedic series like "The Female Official". I watched the first episode. CDM's character Liu Fei seems like another Dongfang Suo. I didn't know that Zhang Tie Lin was in here, but he just has a cameo as Bao Xiu Xiu's hubby. I was wondering what was up with his character not going back to Xiu Xiu after he'd promised to do so upon making it big and then claiming he was just about to after Xiu Xiu showed up with Xiao Bai and confronted him about it. It sure didn't appear like it to me. Oh well, he's gone, so that's that. I probably won't have a chance to complete this series for awhile. I'm still in the middle of finals as well as in the middle of too many other series.

Yes, Liu Fei is another Dongfang Suo. In fact, because he acted as Liu Fei so well that they asked him to act Dongfang Suo. I don't really catch up with what you say as I didn't watch the first episodeOriginally Posted by Lady Zhuge
However, when I saw it, I've not known Zhang Tie Lin, so I didn't pay attention to him. He's Xiu Xiu's husband???? I remember that her husband was not good-looking, was he?
Anyway, he didn't appear in the film many times, and most of the times was in others' memory.
. I didn't like that role in fact, as he was considered a so good person that everyone respected him, but in fact he didn't do anything, except his name that Xiu Xiu used to do a lot of good things.

Yeah, Zhang Tie Lin played Xiu Xiu's hubby, but he was killed off in the very first episode. I agree, he didn't look very good. The makeup definitely didn't complement him. I'm used to seeing him as emperor Qianlong, whom I think he does a great job of portraying.![]()
