Leslie was and always be one of my favorite actors and singers. He had it all- at least to our eyes- but thrown it all away. Some of my favorite movies with Leslie are:

    Farewell My Concubine
    All's Well That Ends Well
    The Chinese Feast
    Once A Thief
    A Better Tomorrow
    A Chinese Ghost Story
    The Bride With White Hair
    She's a Man. He's a Woman ( Gum Zhi Yuk Yip)

    What a filmography!

I haven't seen Rouge, but I'm going to put that off for a while since both Anita and Leslie are gone. It'll be too depressing...

The way I see it. He's not really dead. His performance's essence will always live forever. Seeing his movies, I see him as a romantic but melancholic figure.

Omigod! There's a thread on Leslie Cheung! One month ago, I didn't know who Leslie Cheung was. Then, my cousin gave me his dvd series of TVB's The Fallen Family and I immediately fell in love with the incredibly handsome male lead in the series!!! This guy was handsome! So I searched around the internet, trying to find out who he was - Leslie Cheung! I then avidly searched for all youtube videos on him and found a bunch of his concerts and music videos. Boy, can he sing and dance! And he looked so hot! Then, I watched practically every movie he was in during the past one month. My favorites included Once a Thief, A Better Tomorrow I, A Chinese Ghost Story I, The Bride with White Hair I, Shanghai Grand, and Moonlight Express. So handsome! SO HANDSOME! And then my bubble burst when I realized he already passed away. So sad. But he will always be so hot and handsome to me! I saw this one youtube video where he performed his hit song Sleepless Night in Korea. Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmnE6W_GdNA

    Thanks Melanie for those clips.

I know this actor/singer. He is quite talented himself.

Yes, I just finished watching He's a Woman, She's a Man last week and thought the movie was hilarious. I started to watch the sequel but stopped after the first 15 min because it wasn't as good as the original movie. I also watched The Bride with White Hair II and didn't like it very much, either. Bridgitte Lin and Leslie Cheung only had minimal screen time! It was mostly about other characters!

Ah, Leslie had such a bashful look when he shyly looked down and said he used to have the audience toss something back at him because they didn't want his stuff! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi0ePr91U5c

Leslie will ALWAYS be remembered and will never be forgotten since he is really special and talented. I just feel so sad that he threw it all away... . I heard a lot of songs for awhile and didn't know that it was him that sang them, but then found out that it was him. The day he passed away was a shock to us all... I just could not believe it. I remember seeing him the Fallen Family and gosh was that a SAD series. Sadly, Leslie died in that series too. Seeing it now hurts even more since he really died in real life....

There's a huge difference between depression and schizophrenia. I have an aunt who is schizophrenic and trust me, people know when you start to talk nonsense; all logic is toss out of the window. Depression is much more subtle and sometime hard to detect, but there are clues. Friends and family should never take these psychologic and psychiatric problems lightly, these people need help.

I remember watching nearly all the films Leslie was famous for when I was a child namely A Chinese Ghost Story, Better Tomorrow, Alls Well Ends Well series, Once a Thief, He's a Man She's a Woman, Tristar and others.

But I never appreciated his depth as an actor until I became an adult and reevaluated his artistic fare:
Rouge, Happy Together, Ashes of Time, Viva Erotica

He is so charismatic and embodies the beautiful misunderstood outsider so well. Simply iconic.

i know suicide is bad solution,,,but no one through what he through... and no body so strong as you that live and read what i wrote!
so.... if you like him,,or not ... please stop to judging him.
cause maybe if you in his part,,,nobody knows what you can do!
i disagree with what he did,,,but he already did! i only could said.... "you do your best,,and i'll do my best to keep loving you! you are like magic gor gor! love you! "

I am not his fan and not into his work but gotta admit he is a very talented and successful man. He had pretty much everything going his way and he threw all of them away. Not feel sorry for him though as he wasn't a victim of any kind. His death is completely self inflicted.
