    Default Golden Wheel Monk's age

How old is Golden Wheel Monk? Is he about the same age as the 4 greats?

His skills seems to be on the same level as the 4 greats, so how come he hasn't been know to anyone til ROCH?

The Golden Wheel Monk, I believe, was approximately 10-15 years older than Gwok Jing. He was younger than the other Greats, but not as young as Gwok Jing.

As for his relative obscurity before ROCH, he had spent his youth in Tibet perfecting his martial arts until he was confident that he could enter the martial world as a *major* player. It was at that time that he ingratiated himself with the Mongol regime and became the Imperial Minister of the Mongol Empire.

Wasn't he about 20 years older than GJ?

He is older than KJ? I thought they are at about the same age. Anyway, he is way weaker than KJ at the beginning of ROCH. If you compare to real life MMA, KJ is at GSP level whereas GWM is at Dan Hardy level. There is simply no chance for him to win a fair fight against KJ.

JLFW was a genius who reached great status around age forty. when he and Guo JING exchanged palms, it was stated that he had ten more years of inner power power, but GJ had more proficiency in his palms. so i take this means he was about 48yrs old, GJ was around 38yrs old then. as YG was around 18yrs and GJ was about 20 when YG was born. at the end of ROCH he about 65yrs old, the greats are around 90yrs plus.

If he was on the same level with GJ, then why did he not challenge GJ a death match in a fair fight. If he is victorious, he would be the hero and the war would be over. Unfortunately, he is a coward that only go after the weak or out number them. He never has the courage to go after someone at his level in a fair fight. I was surprised that he wasn't on his knees begging YG to spare his life after he lost the final battle.

Because being someone's equal means a 50/50 chance of winning. No sane person would risk losing or winning a war for those chances. Even if GWM challenged Guo Jing, Guo Jing would be a total idiot if he accepted it. Being a hero means you place your pride below the greater goal.

What an excuse? So according to you, kidnapping a girl who just saved his life for bargaining chip is way to go. I guess the best way for Junior Dos Santos to beat Cain Velasquez in their next fight is to kidnap Cain's little daughter and use her as the bargaining chip. The best way for Alexander Gustafsson to beat Jon Jones is to kidnap Jon's little daughter for bargaining chip. After all, it is the most effective way to become a champion. So according to you, training hard for a fair fight is waste of time, if you have other more effective method no matter how dirty it is. What the Mongolian didn't realize is kidnapping GX for bargaining chip not only put GWM is bad light but putting the reputation of the entire Mongolian race into the toilet. What the Mongolian and Jurchen did not realize is Barbaric Society is short lived. It will collapse and won't last long. Civilized Society will always win in the end. Winning is important but how you win is even more important.

A warrior who places the outcome of a war on his own personal pride is a fool. What idiot will forego all military advantage and resolve the entire war through single combat when they don't have to?

I understand you have strong beliefs about morality, but you really need to think more about the context of what is being discussed. Golden Wheel Monk isn't trying to win a championship on TV so millions adore him -- he is trying to kill the only guy that is causing the war to go on.

Nuclear weapons, advanced military technology, terrain advantage, etc...do you forego all those things for a "fair fight" when the stakes are so large? No, you use what you have to beat the enemy.

Before you discuss anything else, remember that Guo Jing himself was willing to assassinate his sworn brother Toulei, who's martial arts are about a hundred times worse than him, just to end a war. Xiao Feng held his own sworn the Emperor hostage in order to stop a war. These tactics are exactly what GWM wanted to do (unless you want to keep harping on the fact that it was a woman he captured instead of a man).

The difference is GJ and XF were not invaders, they are defenders. When you are the defender, you should do whatever necessary to protector yourself and no one can criticize you. On the other hand, when you are the invader, it's another story. In society, if someone attacks you and you kill him/her, it's called self defense and it's justified by law. If you attack someone and kill him/her, it's called murder and you will be charged.

Thắng làm vua, thua làm giặc. The goal of both sides, whether invaders or defenders, is to win. You gotta do what it takes to win.

    You are Teochew Vietnamese too?

So it's ok for the strong to go after the weak with all the dirty tactics. What do you think about genocide in Rwanda during the 90s? It killed 500k-1mil but the tactic was might be effective during the time. What do you think about the tactic of the Nazis? They seem to be effective during the time. What do you think about Marxist leaders like Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, and the Kim regime? Their tactics were effective during the time. Especially the Kim regime of North Korea, their tactics still work very effectively to these days. Do you justify their actions?
