Default Second Class fighters of Tian Long Ba Bu

Leaving aside MurongBo, Xiao Feng's Father, The Sweeper Monk, the 3 Elders of Xiao Yao Pai, JMZ, and the 3 brothers (XF, DY & XZ), who is the better fighter in the lower class of fighter category ?

I am thinking about the following fighters:

    - First Evil
    - Murong Fu (This guy puzzles me. He's not that great, but why does everybody said 'Nan MuRong' ?)
    - Ding Chun Qiu
    - You Tan Zhi
    - Duan Zheng Chun
    - Yin Ci

    Did I miss anyone ?

You know, JY said that Xiao Feng defeated quite a few opponents who had better inner energy and/or techniques.

There should be a handful of pretty powerful fighters out there in the background which were not named. Its not easy being better then Xiao Feng in either power or the technique department.

    Okay... great... now we have

-MuRong Fu (again, should he be up there with the Superleague fighters ?)
    -Duan Yuan Qing (First Evil)
    - Ding Chun Qiu
    - You Tan Zhi
    - Xuan Ci
    - Duan Zheng Chun
    - Duan Zhenming
    - Yin Ci

So who's the best and who do they rank among each other ?

    I would rank them,

    Duan Zhenming,
    Ding Chunqiu,
    Duan Yanqing,
    You Tanzhi,
    Murong Fu,
    Xuan Ci,
    Duan Zhenchun

I'm not sure who Yin Ci is though?...

i thought that was only when he was young. i doubt there are any fighters more powerful than XF at this age that haven't been named already.

You really think You TanZhi is better than Murong Fu ?

I always thought Murong Fu should be probably just below DZM and about the same level of DCQ, maybe just slightly below.

Well, You Tanzhi has much higher internal energy than Murong Fu. MRF is a better fighter with superior techniques. I'm sure MRF can think of some tactics to trick YTZ in battle - if he lasted long enough.

MRF would probably win. You can tell that he knows when his opponent is stronger just by the fact that he used YTZ to take the heavy blows of XF. He should be smart enough to know not to go head on with him. And it probably won't take long for him to find YTZ's weakness.

Personally, it was a toss-up as to where I felt I should put those two. But frankly, MRF didn't impress me enough to the point where I think he would be able to beat someone who made even DCQ nervous (even despite seeing that YTZ had much inferior techniques).

DCQ and YTZ mostly just through poisoness corpes around, and combated only a little. But personally, I think DCQ would win easily if he just took a few moment and actually fought with him.

YTZ is a unique case in the JY universe. Like Jue Yuan.

If you fight him head on and plain match palms or energy with him, even the Mighty Xiao Feng could not beat him.

But if you use tactics and projectiles etc etc, a relatively low fighter should be able to take him.

MRF likes to use a sword in battle too, so that might be another problem for the combat inexperienced YTZ.

Well, 1 Xiao Feng is equal to 2 MRF or 2 YTZ or thereabouts. So even when Xiao Feng was younger, to be better then him in inner strength or technique still would put you pretty high up in the rungs when compared to MRF and company.

Yes...remember, Xiao Feng isn't an old fart like a lot of the master-hands; he's only 30. What would you say "when he is young" to be, anyhow? 25?

i was thinking maybe 13, 15. when XF was truly first starting out. It's not hard to conceive that XF can meet masters who have better strength and tech then. By 20ish, who knows how far he went. i doubt there's any fighters not named in the book that have better internal strength than him by 25.

I agree, unless these fighters died before the novel's time, then there's no need to mention them. Otherwise:
