2008. Mar. 20 - Jisub treated us a movie The Fate.

    http://www.fate2008.co.kr/
On the first day of releasing of the movie The Fate, Jisub purchased all tickets of a theater and invited his fans, friends, management crews to the movie.
Yesterday, I read the fan club notice in the afternoon.
And I received an sms from admin that it's too unexpected, no time to inform, so not many fans could come.
Admins worried that Jisub may be disappointed.
At night 10:30pm I arrived at the theater, I saw a black van at the parking lot.
It means a celebrity is here.
It has been less than 24 hours since this event was noticed, but 40 Japanese fans came from Japan!
They came directly from the airport, so they were having suitcases.
We Korean fans were about 40~50 persons.

A few minutes later, Jisub's manager Mr. Cho and SSH's manager Mr. Lee and many many BOF crews arrived.
I was surprised that manager Cho gained a lot of weight and SSH's manager lost a lot of hair.
    (FYI : SSh's manager http://blog.naver.com/sannycho.do?Re...No=90023298750 )
Manager Cho distributed tickets to us, but nobody went inside the theater. who were we waiting for?

From another hall, hundreds of people came out. They were SSH's fans, they were wearing Honeylang(SSH's fan club) T-shirts.
They watched movie together, it seemed SSH came and said hello to them.

It's 11:15pm, movie time! we couldn't wait any more, so we went into the hall.
I chose the most rear seat, because I wanted to see the whole seats. (rather than the movie )
Actually, it was very small hall, front seat and rear seat are not far at all.

Trailers and commercials were being shown.
A guy came into the hall, who had cap and muffler all over his face, guarded by manager Cho.
That masked guy had a seat at the 4th line of middle block.
The 5th line was all empty. I ran to there like a flashlight!
Mr. Wi Sung Cheol, who is Jisub's best friend and also BOF crew and his wife actress Jang Shin Young came.
    (FYI : Wi Sung Cheol http://blog.naver.com/sannycho.do?Re...No=90023332098 )
There was only one seat at the left of Jisub, so Jisub moved to the right one seat.
The final seat allocation was Mr. Wi in front of me, his wife on his right, masked sonick on her right.
Hong Kong fans were at my right side. one of them said hello to Jisub, and he turned his face to said hello.
Jisub had very long and curly rear hair different from recent CFs, which was strange to me.
Soon the lights out, movie began.

I enjoyed the movie, when I had watched the trailer on the TV, I had decided to go see it.
I never expected I could see it on the first day.
Kwon Sang Woo is so attractive at the movie, I saw him in his recent TV series 'Bad Love',
which had bad rating and even worse reputation.
His totally different looking in the movie was so much attractive.
He was tough, strong fighter with greased hair... vulgar and ignorant.
On the other hand, SSH was like a wounded wild beast... pitiful... Both were really hot~
Well the movie was very violent, but I enjoyed it.

There was a scene, that SSH attacks KSW's night club.
One of guest looked familiar, it was Mr. Wi who is sitting in front of me haha.
At that scene, Mr. Wi and his wife and Jisub laughed a lot.

The movie was over, lights up.. but nobody stood up, waiting for what?
Suddenly Jisub stood up and walked to the right front seat with muffler on his face.
he greeted to a person there, the person said "What's that?" then Jisub uncovered his face.
He was standing front, facing backward, so all of us could see his face.
His face was very small (Yeh I already knew it... but very small) and a little bit dark colored.
The man stood up, and it was Song Seung Heon!
He turned back to say hello to us. They took picture together there with BOF camera.
Stylist Miss Hong was sitting next to SSH.
I also ran to there, but there were too many BOF crews, they built a human obstacle.
SSH and Jisub went out through the front gate, and that gate was locked.
we fans went out through the rear gate.
At the outside of building, there was a big black van.
SSH was sitting at the assistant seat. We couldn't see Jisub, maybe rear seat somewhere.
Soon the van left... It was 01:40am, I came home.

Thanks Jisub for showing us the movie, I hope The Fate make a great success.

What very little I've seen of Dennis O'Neil in Sweet Spy did not impress me. He spoke only English and his acting was only so so. Hopefully, Dennis O'Neil's acting has improved since 2005 when Sweet Spy was first broadcast.

I just thought it'll be great to hear good English spoken and to be able to understand it. I was painful to listen to the English spoken in Hotelier (Bae Yong Joon) and Love Story in Harvard (Kim Rae Won). It was a pleasure to listen to the English spoken by Yun Jung Hoon in Sad Love Story.

I agree. It's especially ironic when Kim Rae Won and Lee Jung Jin were supposedly two most outstanding law students in Harvard!

Have you heard SSH speaks English before? If not, try Law Firm, the 1st chapter when he was in HK. He has strong accent but it is not so bad to understand him.

I'm not a fan of Dennis O'Neil's acting skill either. But it's okay to have a sub-role played by a cute guy.

eating is an enjoyment in life so i don't blame him if he loves to eat ... lol.
good thing tho that he also exercises a lot to stay fit. i read that he spends 2 - 3hrs a day to exercise and various clips also show he worked out in between breaks during filming.

in fact i wish i'm as dedicated as he is toward exercising.
In the past one year starting late july/aug 2007, he's gained a bit of weight not that he's not muscular/lean but just heavy but it is okay because he still looks great for a guy in his 30s.

So he can talk in English? Fluent or just a little bit?

When entering the army, he was also measured 179cm. So I think that's his correct height.

In the beginning of Fate, he lost lots of weight due to busy schedule and taeqwondo practice for the mv. He did gain the weight back around november last year (4kgr he claimed), and partly because he got more chance to rest when injured his chest and back during the filming.
But I agree with Seungheoney that he doesn't look at all heavy for his height.
In fact, I thought he was too skinny during the early part of the year and his look now is just perfect.
Oh well, just a matter of diff taste.

Not that he spoke English or anything. It was the Law Firm script that contained some English line, and he just read them.
Besides that, I only heard he spoke several simple English words or sentences with his fans or during interviews so can't tell.
But I don't think his English is fluent.
Only few Korean actors I knew that speak decent English, including Lee Byung Heon and Yeon Jeong Hun.

Don't feel silly PrincessTx. You're free to express your feelings in this forum. We love honest opinion. Different ppl may have different taste but we respect the differences. Besides I can sure tell that you adore him.

To be honest, I may be biased because something about SSH really attracts me. So I'm with you -- also think that he's Asia finest actor.

Yes, I've seen Law Firm and thought SSH's English was good. His English is probably even better now since 2001 when Law Firm was broadcast. I have no problem with accents. People probably think I speak Cantonese with an accent. I really admire people who easily master other languages -- yes, PrincessTx and Angel, especially in this global world! I wonder if SSH gets coaching from his brother who attended Cornell and who presently resides in the LA area???

Sometimes when I'm watching a drama and "broken" English is spoken, the English subtitle is automactically changed to Korea. So now I can't read Korean and can't decipher what's being said. When Daniel Henney spoke English in Spring Waltz, the English translation was really bad. I was better off listening to DH (DH, DO, and YJH all received education in the US). BTW, San Francisco/Bay Area fans, did you know AZNTV, for lack of sponsorship, is going off the air April 9. Gonna really miss the excellent English subtitles it provided.

Oh I'm green with envy of the fans who saw Fate with SJS and SSH present in the audience!!!

Hey great article from that blog!
Really liked it, but I totally do not wish I was there, hahaha.
Both SSH and SJS on the same place, in the same time....too much, I wouldn't survive that I'm joking, of course I envy those fans.

What was that about the muffler on SJS's face and his hair curly? weird.
I recently read somewhere that Koreans value the beauty of the person by its face-size. Smaller the better - so i'm totally out of their league lmao

maybe he covered his face to hide his identity ? or maybe he had a cold? i heard the koreans cover their face when they have a cold because doing so they believe they can avoid passing on the germs
anyway i think sjs is a really nice buddy to have. always there to support his "hyung" in good times or bad times. the 2 of them are like brothers. so cute. wish i have a good friend like that.

the small face beauty thingy is not just a korean belief, it's also for other asians too. probably because asians tend to have round face w/ flat or small features. funny though, fashion changed, because my mom told me that in the past asians adore women with "moon" face. small face is okay but i'm not sure what so good about having a face like the moon? because neither crescent or full moon face looks attractive to me, and that's not to mention pot-hole skin like the moon surface ... ewww

I doubt if his brother coaches his English. They're nearly half the Earth away from one another. S.Korea is highly industrialized. There should be plenty of English spoken expatriates and English instructors there for consultation.

I totally hear you about the poor English spoken in korean dramas and the disturbing switch to Korean subtitle. But I can tell that they tried hard.

Oh really? AZN will be terminated? I agree, that will be a lost. The subtitles from AZN are written in very decent English. I watched Goong from the Web, and oh my, the subtitle for Goong must have been provided by a high-school-dropped-out gangster, filled with vulgar and swears, so bad.

Maybe not, cause in the text it says that he covered it out while standing front and showed his -coloured- (I wonder what that was about) face to our Oppa. Weird.

    Me too!
But I didn't get why does it say in the text that that other guy who also appeared in Fate, was his best friend? Or sworn brothers is not the same like very best friends?

    Hahaahaha,lmao. Cool sense of humour
I actually have a moon-face, and since my cheeks are big, it looks even bigger.
So now I'm dieting..to take my cheeks off, lmao.

SSH & KSW are really close friends but SSH & SJS are closer, like siblings, since long before SSH & KSW. They're sworn brothers. Same with Lee Byung Hun. SSH and LBH are also sworn brothers. So it's like...SSH's
    older brother: LBH
    younger brother: SJS
    best friend: KSW

Angel, SSH adores LBH and was LBH's fan when he was still a young actor.
From what I read, though holding a very subordinate role, SSH was very excited when receiving the invitation to appear in Beautiful My Lady to co-star with LBH.
He asked LBH for 10 autographs and told LBH in person how much he admires the guy.
SSH and LBH developed their friendship during Beautiful My Lady and became very close, like brothers. The two hung around together everywhere that ppl said, wherever there was LBH, there was SSH, and vice versa.
Since LBH is older and with more acting experience, he is a like a "hyung" to SSH and in SSH's early career, SSH would seek for advice from LBH before accepting any acting contracts.
It was LBH who influenced SSH into accepting Make It Big invitation. According to what I read, LBH advised SSH to take Make It Big to challenge his acting skills with something more unusual from his lover image.

Nowadays probably because of their busy schedules, I heard less of acquaintances between the two, but that doesn't mean they're no longer have high regards for one another.
