Ruby Lin is looking to lose her single status as soon as possible.

The singer-actress talked about her dream boyfriend on Saturday when she held a meet-and-greet in Beijing to promote her latest album, "Xin Ru Zhu Yi."

"He must be profound, not stupid, handsome, and get along well with my friends," Ruby said.

She asked people not to relate the songs in her new album, many of which are about lost love, with her breakup with former director boyfriend Stanley Tong.

"My album doesn't mean any specific person."

I totally agree.. Gosh, she cannot sing at all. I don't think her album will sell at all. I think the ONLY people who will buy it are those BIG die hard fans who just want to support her. However, besides them, I don't think anyone else will buy it at all.I think she is trying to make money but I don't think that is a good way of doing it.... I think it is embarassing that she has to do this to herself just to make money...

I completely agree with you. Since my sister is a fan of Ruby, she told me to listen to her new album which was posted on Youtube and also available to download for free.

I was surprised for many reasons.

First: because her music management team advertised her by saying the following: she improved so much, her voice is unique and uncommon, because she's a famous actress so she didn't have time to truly show how talented of a singer she was. And let's not forget that it has been reported by Ruby's publicist that her contract with the music group was around 10 mill, you expected something great. But let's be honest, it was far from good. Once again, it's all talk and advertisements when it comes to Ruby Lin, there's nothing substantial about her quality of work. Her fans might say that she has "improved" but does that mean she is a singer, that this CD was worth all of the advertisements, and the praise. Was this album base on quality or an attempt to overshadow Ruby's embarrassing retreat back to Taiwan to earn money instead of Mainland China?

Secondly: during her promotion there were huge celebrity supports from: Alec su, Fan Bing Bing, Huang Xiao Ming, Lu Yi, Li Bing Bing, Wallace huo, Shawn Yue, Peter Ho, Jang Nara and so on. So you expected them to at least listened to the music album and honestly supports Ruby for the right reasons. Unfortunately, these celebrities definitely endorsed the wrong product. I'm thinking they did not even listen to the CD. Since the release of this album, the sells were not good (you can check on various Chinese and Taiwanese websites), she had mini concerts for shows and reporters but was not actively invited to perform at big events.

Thirdly: Ruby lin was named Singer of the year and her song Onion was the song of the year, shocked anyone? Well don't be. These prizes were handed out for a no-name award show, the 12th Annual M-zone award.

Let's be honest, her work in HZGG was great. Although she is not a versatile actress, but she did have good success playing her gentle roles. And of course she is beautiful. For an actress who is over 30, she is unquestionably beautiful (let's put rumors about potential plastic surgery, and reports of botox injections aside). But realistically, she is not a singer. And realistically, her "comeback" album is a disappointment. Let's not just concentrate on her looks but her quality of work.

To be honest, really get tired of to read those without-proof opinions/and wrong information opinions. Maybe you really want to show off ur incompetence, right? This time, I will give reply since I am so free today.

-> Her music company is China mainland one, not taiwan one. That taiwan company "擎天娛樂" just responsible for distribution in Taiwan. So, her all promotion is focused on China, not Taiwan.

And when she back to taiwan from China? All of her recently series is china production (Love at sun mook lake is China-TW joint production, this will be out in China first aroud April) and most of her commercial contracts are China too. Can u give me any proof that she back to Taiwan to earn money instead of China? She earned money from China(album, series and ad) You keep insist that ruby back to TW, but none of ur saying is proven. I even think you can't distinguish China from Taiwan? right? Before u claim almost of ruby's ad are based on TW, but I already point our ur fake opinion ( u never reply. )

->Omg....send short supporting message to friends/co-workers means the endorsing? Their message are personal one. Do they got money after recording unclear and short VCR message? Any of their VCR messages broadcasted in TV or radio for promotion? There messages just show only 1 time in her press conference day and some news reported many of stars send their wishes for her, that's all. Good or bad, they do that just support their friends. You can't record the short vcr message for ur friends or coworker? It is the least thay do for her.

For example if one celebrity saying "my friend's new movie is really great" in public but that movie is horrible one, attacked by so many audiences and critics.. that person have to make an apology ? No. It depend the personal eyeview and their supporting to ruby is their own choice.

No one think number of celebrities greeting message guarantee the quality of the album. People just think "She got many friends and nice co-workers who love to supporting her". And "quality" itself also depended by each person's point of view & everyone has different tastes. I think you are the one who think other celebrity supports means it's worth.


3. Since the release of this album, the sells were not good

And what about think - No. 2 ranked in China amazon best selling in 1st week, no 4 ranked in 2nd week, and ranked other several online site's top 10 best selling album? And ranked in many music charts's TOP 10 included no.1 several times? I am too lazy to repost them into here, moreover I don't want to do since your strange eyes only can see bad thing of ruby. If you want to know, searching ruby's chinese web. I think you can do well because you are so free for keep searching ruby's news and informations everyday though you are not fan of her.

Oh..don't say those chart is not so meaningful since your goddess ZW's sites listed those chart's very proudly and treated them so valuable as your goddess's music album's "accomplish" and "success".

She got award 'entertainer of the year', not 'singer of the year'. Singer of the year award goes to eVonne since her album really well-received. 最佳女歌手/年度艺人...In ur eyes, they are SAME??

Though this is not well-known as MTV awards, it lasting for 12 times...if u keep want to put down..I really feel sorry for so many singers who was win in this award for 12 years.. When I visit the sohu web today, I found quite interesting things. Sohu held their annual award in today(8th). Funny thing is..the stars who nominated their annual award are the stars who have their blog in sohu or who was very active in sohu's event. Since DEGE999 'd goddess has her official site and blog in sohu web, I am sure she got award in this time since sohu set up the award for her as 'gift' From last year, sohu sudden start their crap annual award to follow sina. And their award all given to stars who ONLY very cooperative w/ sohu.


This is so called "no-name award", just hold to promote their company and give away the award to only their cooperative and blogger stars. You can got so many award from them if you open ur blog in sohu or you are so active in sohu's event. Because this is "recompense" award, not based on any talents or real popularity.
