There is no 'transitive'?? brotherhood.

Otherwise DY and XZ would be the Liao Emperor's brothers too.

sworn brotherhood is not transitive.. when DY and XZ decided to become brothers DY mentioned that he had another brother and they agreed to include XF in their brotherhood. This was later affirmed at Shaolin when the 3 brothers finally met and became sworn brothers again.. at least that was the way it was in DGSD 97.

Okay, back to the discussion. The sworn brotherhood between XF, XZ, and DY was truly admirable. In a way, XZ's father Abbot Xuan Ci caused XF's mom to die when XF was just a baby, then in fight at Shaolin many years later XF *caused* Abbot Xuan Ci to die after receiving Shaolin punishment. Yet, the brotherhood did not break up, and even grew stronger among the three. XF and XZ could put aside their differences. Now that is something worth telling!
