well, u have actors in hollywood doing drugs n being in n out of rehab centres. Winona Ryder convicted of shoplifting (i think) and lots more others (u totally lose count).

Hollywood, Hong Kong, wherever. Unfortunately it's the nature of the entertainment industry where normal people are promoted to demi-god status and drugs and whatever-else are easily accessible among the rich and famous.

The industry itself already has a bad name. Yet people still join. Why? Fame. Fortune. Glamour.

Same reason Britney Spears sells. Louis Koo is a handsome fellow, you can't say much about his acting and singing abilities. But he appeals to a lot of the ladies in HK.

I used to think these tied to mob or drugs or sex scandel is just part of marketing...

it might give the industry a bad image. but i think it will create an opposite impact for those who turned good. would it be better to give chances to those ex-convicts (really severe term, but i hope you get what i mean) to be good and useful citizens. of course im not saying all of them managed to be good as they enter showbiz. but for those who really changed for the better, i think we should give them chances. afterall, who does not have a past?

They do get pretty famous... and paid pretty well.

There are some actress out there who have done Porn and is what help them make it to main stream career.

Shi Qui is one... and I can see in the future their will be more taking this path...

Shu Qi's not a porn star, she just did III (R) rated films. I haven't seen her films, but I think she never actually has sex on screen, or I haven't heard that she has.

If SQ is a porn star, then so is Nicole Kidman, Diane Lane, Jennifer Connelly, etc.

It's just film nudity, no biggie. No reason to respect someone less just because they went topless on screen.

I have friends that have Shu Qi's having sex with guys in movies... beside i think some of the III films if you bring them to North American they woudln't even have R rating more but XXX rating.

Cleavage shot is not porn but I think sexual intercourse (you can see it) shots is.

I could be wrong since I don't really know SQ's films, but I'm guessing it's just simulated sex. Mainstream US actresses do that too. Just pretend to grind and grunt and crap like that. Not porn.

Porn is when the focus is sex, and there is actually sexual acts performed, not just the simulation of sex.

An example of the threshold crossing into porn would be the actress holding and playing with the actor's johnson for real, and you can see it on camera.
