Got lah. You should rewatch it then. They both died at the end of their story.

I think Ding Dian is hot when he's in jail covered with beard.

Wan Gui (Chi Fang's husband) is also quite handsome.

Totally agree - he has this insincere, too good to be true look when he's clean shaven, almost like a pervert - would make a great villain in another series, I'm sure. He looked rather good with a beard, though.

In terms of beautiful girls, Ling Shuanghua was also very pretty - maybe not in those scenes where they tried to beautify her, but later on when her life started getting miserable she looked so so beautiful. I don't remember any tavern owner either - apart from that innkeeper and his wife which seemed to be there for comic relief more than anything, but then it's been a long time since I watched it. Was it after Di Yun returns as the martial arts master or before? How did they die?

I love Linked Cities as well - the non ZJZ Jin Yong serials have so far been very watchable. Alec Su's HSDS was probably my favourite and Linked Cities is a close second. Book and Sword was very good, but they killed off too many of my favourite characters at the end (they all survived in the novel), while Xiakexing, although very cartoonish and overdone with CGI, had a very memorable Shi Potian/Shi Zhongyu dual role - the acting was excellent and showed such a different character with the same face. I haven't seen any others, but all these are of a very watchable quality.

Totally agree. When I saw TSTL, I thought the actress was one of the veterans I had seen before, someone who's very very famous in China. But then when I found out she's a girl and not some 40 or 50 yr old actress, I was stunned. I thought they were making some old actress look young, not the other way round.

Can someone feed us a brief storyline of The Linked Cities? Is this about treasure hunt, revenge or something else.

SO glad SC got a role in DOMD and with HXM. HXM's charm does work on girls, but not sure whether he can be cheesy and street-rat like WXB.

I really enjoyed the starting part of the series and the ending parts.
Poor guy Di Yun is though... how those fajety dickheads beat him up 8 to 1.
He spoke memorable words like 'When you came to our town we killed our chicken and served you good beer.... your not even human'
And that ugly lady who made DY go to jail was a fken **** 13iatch. I felt like knocking her head with a pole.
Feel sorry for his martial sister too, bloody heartless people.

Wow, the fights in the snow mountain really took a looooong time. 1 whole episode, just fighting and fighting and fighting. Continue in the next episode some more.

I didn't really enjoy the snow mountain parts .
I like the part where the cannibal dude gets hammered by Di Yun when he tried to be Wulin leader.

That's Liu Chengfeng, Hua Tiegan and Lu Tianshu vs Blood Sabre Ancestor? Very long fights, but very well choreographed. At least it wasn't 1 whole episode of laser bolts, CGI and Matrix stunts. The fight was brutal and kept me on the edge of my seat for quite a lot of it.

Well, the little outdate CGI they use was still kinda distracting. But they make Xue Dao Lau Zhu really really scary. This guy like cannot die. I can truly understand Hua Tiegan's feeling when he said 'you are not human, your are not human'.

Anyway, I wonder how Shui Sheng got material to make those fur coats. They certainly were not able to get any animals or they wouldn't have run out of food.

This the radio drama I listen too, it was explained that Shui Sheng got the material from the hawks and birds Di Yun caught. So, this coats only appeared after they run out of food and Di Yun got the idea of shooting down the birds, unlike the tv version.

LOL I wanted to rewatch this since I didn't have a good impression of it the first time but somehow I ended up watching Jewel in the Palace which is so interesting.

That was one of my favorite events in the novel. I was glad they didn't really change much with that episode / event. What Yue Doe Lo Joe did in that sequence of events was the main reason he's my favorite bad guy. He used his brains to defeat 4 people of equal martial arts ability to him. I can't think of another JY villain or hero who was able to do that in any of JY's novels.

There are some events in that episode that won't make much sense to people who didn't read the novel, but just watched the tv series.

    1) The reason why the Lok guy had to come out of the snow sooner for air then the Blood Sabre Monk is caused Blood Sabre Monk was used to that enviroment plus he figured to breathe the oxygen in his pocket holes (something the Lok guy didn't think of). That's why the monk could stay inside the snow for longer and shows his cunning. The sword he stuck in the snow was also planned.

2)When Di Yun admitted to killing the Shui guy out of mercy to the Shui guy's daughter, the blood Sabre Monk finally figured that Di Yun wasn't what he thought Di Yun was and wanted to kill Di Yun after. Of course, he still acted nice to Di Yun just like the tv series.

3)In the novel, the monk also knewed Fa Ting Gong was going for him, but got out of the way and Fa Tin Gong ended up killing the Liu guy. What the monk did after was even more amazing. He jumped down a hill of about 800 feet doing saumersault after saumersault. That was not really shown in the tv series.

4)The Monk did say he had 72 plans and only used 3 to kill / injured Fa Tin Gong's three brothers. Of course, Fa Tin Gong being the coward that he is believed him. This wasn't really any different from the novel, but I just wanted to bring it up anyway.

The monk is funny too. He kept referring to himself as the Shui guy's son-in-law. I can't remember if that was also what happened in the novel, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Yes, he did that in the series all the time too to anger the Shui guy.
