Well, in ATV's Showbiz Tycoon, you have:
    - Michael Tao do an impersonation of TVB boss Siu Yat Fu
    - Angie Cheung played his first wife
    - Carina played his second wife
    - Alex Fong played Chow Man Wai (Golden Harvest boss)
    - Wayne Lai played Ho Goon Cheung (another Golden Harvest
    boss).
    - Kathy Chow played Lin Dai (60's star who committed suicide)
    - Astrix Chan played Ling Bo (70's singer/actress who was
famous for playing Zhu Ying Tai in "The Butterfly Lovers")
    - Teresa Mak played Dik La (70's sexy actress)
    - Stephen Au played Bruce Lee
    - Belinda Hamnett his wife. And lots more...

Basically that story talked about making movies in the 60's/70's and the rivalry between companies, but i thought it was a load of crap. And if didn't know that someone i liked was starring a small role in it, I would have given up on it a long time ago. ADND is much better.

In TVB, you have had the "Old Time Buddy' series with:
    - Francis Ng as Patrick Tse (i.e Nicholas Tse's dad)
    - And i think Nic was mentioned as Lemon "Ling Mung" (rhymes
with Ting Fung) (or was it the movie??)
    - Jessica as Siew Fong Fong (famous 60's/70's actress)
    - Maggie Cheung as Chan Bo Chu (famous 60's/70's actress)
    - Gallen Lo as Lui Kei (famous actor + porn director (not shown in
    the story)
    - Florence Kwok and Kingdom Yuen as the famous female couple
in opera, Bak Shuet Sin and Yum Gim Fai
    - And more....

Also, that TVB series with Bobby and Sheren Tang about the movie business, where Louis Yuen Siu Cheung played Wong Jing, Michael Tse played Shephen Chow/Nic Tse, May Kwong played Faye Wong (IMO), Wu Fung played Cai Lan (famous host), and more...

Basically, i prefer Old time Buddy and ADND. Most others are slapstick and very boring.

o right! (slap on my forehead!) how can i forget showbiz tycoon and old time buddy?! my sis watched showbiz tycoon (and i plan to someday) and old time buddy was actually one of my faves! loved gallen there when he had this whiny voice even did some research on the actors/actresses they portrayed. in showbiz tycoon, i don't know kathy chow was lin dai. poor lin dai (the real person), i wonder why during their time committing suicide was very 'prominent' my hunch is, they had a major lack of psychologists/counsellors. so whenever they encounter problems, they felt they had nobody to turn to.

You don't see too many actor and actress commit suicide anymore which is a good thing.

I think it is because back then most stars think that when their career is over is over... but now there is stories that stars can make a come back so this might give some hope to those that lost hope.

yes, that's a really good thing. and they have more to think abt now rather than lovelife. see, many of those who committed suicide are all because of ruined lovelife...lin dai and company

is that why isabella leong is getting pushed by EEG now? because she's done stuff with albert yeung?? for god's sake, she's only 15! but she did say in an interview that she likes men who are at least 10 years older than her... her reasoning is that she lost her dad when she was young... so she needs a guy to take care of her. oh im sure albert yeung is taking care of her...

Over love is usually the reason why people commit sucide...

I heard that Leslie want to become a legend. Most legend die unexpectedly. I always thought maybe that is one of the reason why he killed himself. He wants to be unique.

i think it's because he had some illness. anita mui mentioned before she passed away that she felt like a bad friend because even her own good friend wouldn't tell her that he had a disease and instead chose to kill himself. conforms with some media speculation that he'd committed suicide because he had AIDS/HIV.

why would leslie choose to jump off the roof and mess up the way he looks? he's a person who places so much importance on appearance.

Maybe to add to the myth... the sense of legend. So they can't freeze his body up so future generation can see etc.

I also heard rumors that he contact HIV/AIDS... but that is pretty easy to proof with the blood sample.

    Maybe he was murdered...

Always give others the benefit of the doubt - you'll never know when you will become rich and famous one day - wouldn't it be terrible to read such things about yourself in print or hear it from the media?

The moral of the story is: Never want something so badly that you would sacrifice your soul for it. Be contented with what you have and achieve the achievable and try not to reach the unreachable.
