How many books are there in this novel? This is the beginning of book #2, so...

I make a point of compiling useless "trivia" like this cause I was interested in knowing what they were a while back (I think there was even one at #24 or something?.. Yeah, it's *only* #3. But as you'll find out, one of the themes is that the wielder matters more than the weapon. You'll see most of the Top 10 in the remaining parts of this story. Although, #10 actually appeared in the sequel.

Geez. Do you all have to remind me how long this book is? It gets depressing you know. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

At least you get some shorter chapters mixed in there. And the story keeps things interesting. So, it's probably not as bad as it may seem. <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">

I think Sung means zenith or peak. So maybe I woulda called it Solar Zenith... ah, who am I kidding, I'd just take the lazy way out and call it Solar Iron Sword! <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0">

As long as it reads smoothly and the plot stays close, I wouldn't notice the difference. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> I know how these things go. Some things just don't translate well, and sometimes the meaning gets across better with certain details left out or re-worded..
And then there are those few cases (like some poem/proverbs) where you just get tired of figuring it out and say screw it. <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0">
I am, however, interested in spotting where the mention of CLH's battle with the Water Matriarch comes up. I know I read it somewhere, but I can't seem to find that part anymore.

Li Xun Hua came after CLH? Why did i always think that it was the other way around?

Probably because of the Richie Ren movie. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
I'm sure some people think Lee Cham Foon was CLH's teacher because of that movie too.

yep. agreed. god knows what the producer & scriptwriter was thinking of with that. quite ridiculous.

It's so sad to see what the likes of Yang Pei Pei and Wang Jing do to these great novels. It sucks that Gu Long is dead, or he can put a stop to this.
Then again, Gu Long's always broke, so maybe he'd accept these changes for the money. <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0">
Meh .... you the man.. to translate 89 chapters. Maybe we should create a fan group or support group for Meh... What do you guys/gals think??
Keep up the good work Meh. <IMG SRC="smilies/thumbsup.gif" border="0">
well, I don't think they would dare to mix characters from different stories if GL had been alive.
They could have done the same for JY too had he been gone. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
BTW, what do you think of Vincent Jiao's dagger Li?
I have a mind to buy it but I don't trust taiwan wuxia series that much. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Always a popular question <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
Too lazy to look up the pinyin, so hope you know Cantonese...
1) Tien Gei Lao Yun's Pipe (or was it a Stick?)
2) Searn Goon Gum Hung's Dragon & Phoenix Rings
3) Lee Cham Foon's Flying Dagger
4) Gwok Sung Yearn's Solar Apex Iron Sword
5) Liu Fung Tsin's Marquis Silver Halberd (he switched to some kind of hand weapon)
6) Hearn Chung's Wind & Rain Twin Meteors
7) Sai Moon Yau's Snake Whip
8) Chu Gort Gong's Golden Iron Crutch
9) Yee Hook's Green Demon Hand
10) Yuk Lan Dao Yun's Eastern Sea Jade Orchid
I'm missing some but that's all I can remember.

except for the two that appeared in this last chapter and li, who else have made appearance yet?

If I'm not mistaken, the Green Demon Hand already appeared and was killed by Ah Fei. As for Vincent's Dagger Li, I thought it was pretty draggy, especially toward the 2nd half. They just talk and talk and talk and cry. The 1st half had much more action (even then it's not enough). I especially like the part where Vincent runs across water - very cool.
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.
IMO, Vicent's XLFD is a fairly good stand-alone series, if you like the Taiwan-style(whole bunch of crying and talking) series. The story basically stayed the same until the whole Shaolin thing. After that, the scriptwriters apparently think they can write better than Gu Long(and they're wrong of course).
Spoilers
Other than the Green Devil Hand(or as TigerWong put, the Demon Hand), at least one other person has appeared. I'll leave it up to you to figure it out. If you really want to know, look through TigerWong's list again. If you don't, ignore the list for now. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

This isn't one of those trick questions is it? I guess besides those two from the last chapter and the Devil Hand, another person who's on the list that made an appearance is Li Xun Huan.

For Meh: Thank you for translating this novel. I got hook up and now my daily routine including check this forum for story update
Vicious: There is another person beside LXH
I never engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.
Nope. The other person is ranked #1. He is the........[spoiler space]...old storyteller with his grand daughter. His weapon is the pipe and if you read carefully, when the old storyteller first appear, he was smoking a pipe with his eyes closed. (I'm too lazy to go back and look. If this didn't happen, then I probably got it from the Vincent's Dagger Li series.)
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.
CrazyT's got it. I thought it was fairly obvious. But then again, I've had the benefit of knowing the answer beforehand. So it might not seem that obvious to a regular reader.
