The epic battle between Mr. Blue (Mr. Lan Da) and Xiao WangSun took place in another Gu Long novel - "The Lovers' Arrows". Like the Ponytailed Girl said, it was the ultimate battle between Hard and Soft.
They fought first using their hands. Mr. Blue's shouts were like thunder and his iron fists were simple yet extremely forceful, carrying with it a powerful wind. Meanwhile, Xiao WangSun used his superior hing gung to evade and attack, seeming to be walking on clouds. He was constantly switching between different strange palm styles that were never before seen in the martial world. His palm attacks seemed to be coming from everywhere.
But they reached a draw, so the 2nd round was with weapons. Mr. Blue wielded a heavy, iron hammer capable of breaking the most high quality weapons with ease (think Thor, Norse God of Thunder <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">). Xiao WangSun chose to use a silk belt, as it will only bend and cannot be broken. It might seem like Xiao would be at a disadvantage, but it would be quite impressive if Mr. Blue could fend off Xiao's fast attacks holding an extremely heavy weapon. But he was able to...because he was so strong he used the hammer like a sword and executed sword techniques with it. Meanwhile, Xiao was able to form attacks with the belt that reflected all the 18 weapons of martial arts (spear, sword, etc). Again the duel resulted in a draw (although my personal bet would be on Xiao because he was highly intelligent and would probably find some way to win) although it lasted all night.
BTW, Meh - Wasn't this the part where she supposedly mentioned the fight between CLH and the Water Matriarch? I swear I read that before.
