I caught shots of Qiao Zhen Yu in Xue Hua Nu Shen Long. He looks nice!
but I have not actually caught him in action yet in the serial. Tried watching it that day but the serial is so slow-moving.....anyone knows what his role in here is like?
I think Qiao Zhen Yu is one of the most promising actors from China other than Huang Xiao Ming. He reminds me of Edison Chen, that kind of guys, hip and young and looks like he has a cheeky grin but I much prefer Qiao Zhen Yu (though I have not seen him acting yet or heard his voice). From reviews I have heard and looking at him, I just feel he has much more substance. Beside a good wei Xiao Bao and Yang Qi Lang, I think he makes a pretty good Zhang Wuji too but then he could be too tall for these roles....

Strawberry, you should check out the XHNSL thread in the Taiwanese series forum for a boatload on Qiao Zhen Yu's character Ouyang Ming Ri/Sai Hua Tuo. A few words here, though: He's the best reason for watching that series.

Great acting, memorable character.

QZY doesn't remind me of Edison Chen because QZY is actually a good actor! He definitely has more substance than Edison. With the latter, you see him, and then you quickly forget him.

Meanwhile, I've started watching "Xia Xing Tian Xia". I remember that trieuminh asked about it earlier in this thread. From the cover, it would appear as though QZY only has a minor role, but after watching the first episode, he's more like one of the main characters! His acting skills are a bit raw in this series and his character is quite a departure from Sai Hua Tuo in XHNSL. He plays Xu San Yuan, the son of a Ming dynasty general (?) and it seems that he will have two love interests. Other cast members that I recognize include Ren Quan, Li Jin Rong, and Zhang Tie Lin.

Wow...he looks dark and tanned. Is that make-up or a real tan? He appears even more manly as dark tan...hehehh or maybe it's just the sword he's holding up. Oh cool...as Sai Hua Tuo he had that golden string as a weapon..here he has a sword that splits into two swords....he must be a good and fast sword fighter.

When OMR finally was able to walk again...he looked very tall. Anyone still interested on talking about Xue Hua Nu Shen Long...meet me at that thread..cuz I already posted some thoughts there.

I don't know too much about it yet except that it's called "Xin Zui Da Jin Zhi" ( 新醉打金枝 ) and is set in the Tang dynasty. It appears to be another romanticized series focusing more on love than history. The two leads are Hong Kong's Nick Cheung and Korea's Chae Rim. A bit of trivia: Nick's then girlfriend and now wife Esther Kwan played Chae Rim's role (Princess Sheng Ping) in a 90's version of this series.

I don't know that this serie is done yet or still in producting...but QZY will be with Yoyo Mong...I had seen his pix with yoyo

Hmm...I think Yoyo looks a bit too mature for QZY, but who knows? Maybe their onscreen chemistry will be good.

He is so hot. I wish I can see more series of him, he needs to audition for ZJZ's adaptations, and that ZJZ better accept him. I think he outshines all TVB actors of today.
