Fan Bingbing is a "mike tyrant"

Chen Hao had an album, Pang Chang Jiang also had an album, Fan Bingbing is also not coming short. Yesterday, on the press in which many of her celebrities friends showed up to support, Fan Bingbing finally unveiled her new identity as a singer.

the love story of her parents was written into songs

"Just Beginning" is being so-called by the media as the conclusion to the year that is dominated by actors-turned-singers. To put it simply, this album is about songs, and several of them tell the story about a personal Fan Bingbing.

Fan Bingbing had invited wellknown lyricist Wen Ya to write for her. She had engaged in many long conversations with her, telling Wen Ya about her childhood near the water, the romance btw her parents, and her stories about growing up. And with these, Wen Ya presents songs like Daughter of the Sea, Just Beginning, and Mom is Dating. The love songs from this album stand out among others, they have a tinge of sadness, and leave you impressed. Flying Bird, Seashore, It's a Raining Day, and Sunshine at Dusk are easy listening songs, while Mon is Dating, That Couple on the Street Corner, and Give Me Something Different present a mischievous and funny Fan Bingbing.

A rebirth, she claims

With her album now available on the market, Fan Bingbing feels a bit uneasy, she expects recognition yet also worries about others making comparisons. It normally takes the public a while to recognize these actors-turned-singers, and there were only few successful precedents. The success of Warner Music's Zhou Xun who'd received "Best Newcomer" and "Most Popular Female Singer" for her 2 albums respectively is sure a motive for these newbies; however, with more of them coming, the game gets competitive.

Chen Hao had released her album last month, and it's common that people will make comparison btw the two. Fan Bingbing believes the consumers who like her will buy her album, and thinks they both have a different market and fans to go after.

Fan Bingbing sees the new change in her career as a rebirth. "Being a singer, you face the audience directly, and you get to see a lot more response, while being an actor, you'll have to wait about 6 months or so to see the result. And being a singer is very fulfilling. One of the problems being a singer is that you've got to be physically strong because you would need to dance and sing at the same time, this is something we all have to work at. I like singing, and I'm taking it seriously, learning to be a singer and I think it's meaningless if you do an album just for the sake that you have to work at it." As for the album, Fan Bingbing says she wants the critics and the listeners to give her a fair and objective feedback because it's a result of a combined work by many people.

On the press yesterday, Han Hong, Sun Nan, Su You Peng and more went on the stage and played a guessing game with Bingbing, and told their side of stories about Bingbing.

A "shi jie" from the same company, Li Bingbing revealed that everytime they go to a Karaoke bar, Fan Bingbing would become a "mike tyrant," holding to the mike for all night long, and would sing the songs from the very beginning to the last one on the menu. Lu Yi and girlfriend Bao Lei offered their best wishes as well. Lu Yi who had released 2 album is a model Fan Bingbing look after. Li Zong Han and Ren Quan revealed that Fan Bingbing likes to ask "Am I pretty?" on the set. "Fan Bingbing likes to take a walk after doing her facial, and the first thing she would do everyday after her facial is asking people 'Am I pretty?' We were on the set for 3 months and I was being asked the same question for 3 months, " revealed Li Zong Han.

Su You Peng said Fan Bingbing is a gutsy girl. recalling their time together on HZGG, Eric revealed that non of them knew how to ride a horse, and were afraid of them, but Fan Bingbing who was only a 16-yr-old at the time would hop on the horse and chase after cows. Sun Nan said he likes Flying Bird, and from his point of view as a professional singer, Fan Bingbing did a good job, be it the rhythm or the voice.

Han Hong used "tenacity" to described Fan Bingbing. "It was about 6 yrs ago that Fan Bingbing and I went to a show for performance. The stage was ill-equipped, and the roof was leaking, many of actors were doing pre-records at the time. But I heard someone singing live on the stage, and was really shocked, and it was Fan Bingbing. I encouraged her to go into music at the time, and she told me with confidence that she will, and pointed at a guy who looked very young, I thought he was her boyfriend initially, and said "my dad is a singer."
