When the Golden Wheel Monk was born, his parents obviously did not name him "Golden Wheel" . . . and this was also probably not the Buddhist name he was given when he first became a Lama Buddhist monk. Instead, "Golden Wheel" was an honorific title he received after he became regarded as enlightened.
When the Golden Wheel Monk first met Gwok Seung, he introduced himself as a monk named "Chu Muk" (or something like that). Was this supposed to have been his real name (i.e. his original family name or his Buddhist name), or did he just make that name up out of nothing? I'm guessing that the Golden Wheel Monk did have a secular or Buddhist name . . . just as the Great Wheel Enlightened Monk from DGSD had the name "Kau Mor Tze".
