I watched Shu Chang on "Super Interview" awhile ago. She was a guest on her birthday, so that was pretty special. I felt that her interview was quite meaningful and touching. Although she's not technically an orphan, she has had a challenging life compared to many young actresses. Her parents divorced before she was one and her mother died when she was ten. Since then, she's lived with aunts and uncles who've been very kind to her. She considers an older female cousin of hers a sister and also has a half-brother. A particularly painful part of Shu Chang's past is that she'd always held a grudge against her biological father, wondering why he never came around when she and her mother needed him most, but only contacted her after she'd become "famous." Recently however, she's in the process of patching things up with him and starting afresh. She realizes that although it's much easier said than done, forgiving those who've wounded you deeply is actually lessening burdens on your soul.
