    I go by either the talent they have or how beautiful they are. I liked Shu Chang because she has the talent and she does have a beauty even if it is the "average" looks you said she has. While I like LFY too because her beauty is beyond the other actresses because even at the age of 18 she is ranked by one of the Chinese newspaper to be Number 4 as the most beautiful.

    I support Shu Chang because she doesn't seem to have that much support either her family or fans that is why I give her my support while LFY though I liked her wouldn't even noticed if she doesn't have my support because she has some many other fans.

    SUpport for the underdogs is defintely needed especially for Shu Chang but I am not going to repeat everything I said before so I am just saying how Shu Chang has the talent even some looks but few suppor

    looks are important.. but thesedays.. some actresses.. i swear have really GOOD connections. ( cough cough twins, fbb, Ruby, Myolie Wu, all miss recycled miss Hks) SOme of those actresses suck like hell, and yet they get so much roles.

    but on SHu Chang, the first time i looked at her, i didn't think she was pretty, I had to look again to notice something.. and keep looking till i see that she has something unique about her looks. U can take that as a criticism if u want.. but i personally just think that she got a look that is very unique, to the point i have look again.

    and LYF, i look at her once, she is pretty.. look at her again.. think she is ok... than look one last time.. she sometimes just look average Again, u can take that as a compliment or criticism.

    She definitely looks adorable... do you think we should just make a rule to stop comparing LYF to Shu Chang... i notice that many actresses keep getting compared to LYF, like Eva, Carman, GYY, YM, Chen Zi Han... seriously, i really think people that don't like Shu Chang should just stay clear of this thread

    The constant "but she's not as ___ as LYF, YM, etc etc" is tiring indeed. It seems to happen in so many threads. Odd that guys have to support their own favs actress in other actresses' threads, as if they're worried they're the only fans or something and have to be her popularity manager.

    Please, if all you have to say about Shu Chang or any other actress is "she's not as cute/young/popular as LFY and never will be," we've heard it all before and we can get our full dose by dropping by LYF's thread.

    I may be a girl, but I will definitely pick LYF and YM and many others over Shu Chang for looks, but this isn't a beauty contest. I like LYF and will be happy to talk about her in her thread, but since this is a thread is about Shu Chang, that's who I'm going to talk about. Not unreasonable, is it?

    That doesn't mean I don't think other actresses are just as pretty or prettier. And just because I want to talk about Shu Chang doesn't mean I think she's the #1 beauty in all the land, or that she's better than others. It's simply that she's a good actress and I want to share some comments and praise about her in peace, without constant pestering about the inadequacy of her looks and critiques on my opinion of beauty.

    Wow...does this particular pic of her remind anyone of the actress who played Lin Dai Yu in the very old Hong Lou Meng? She has that melancholy, pure look right there. Actually, I have to say that she might make a promising Lin Dai Yu if they ever remake that series.

    THanks for all the pix of her.. I agree with a lot of things you guys said. Beauty is the eye of the beholder too. I don't think that only girls find her pretty and cute. I showed some of my friends who are guys that say she is way prettier and sweeter than LYF. Therefore, I don't believe that it is just girls who think she is prettier than LYF.
    Also, who will know if she will succeed or not? SHe is still really young and has a long way to go in her career. I think one day she will surprise everyone....

    I actually think she has a younger look than LYF and YM, especially YM. YM is pretty, but has a more bony structured face which makes her look older. Once again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

    I also don't believe that the number of fans an actress has can justify how beautiful they are... That doesn't make sense to me.

    Thanks again for all the lovely pix of her....Yea, she does remind me of the actress who played Lin Da Yu in Hong Lau Meng....

    Yeah this is a thread about Shu Chang so I think there should be only comments about her but like always many people like to compare one actress to their own fav actress so discussions like this always happen in threads. BUt we can't actually di simething as it is their right ti have opinions like what Deng Xiao Ping said if you open the window eventually some flies would come in so negative and positive comments are usually expected.

    And about what ancient series her pics were taken in and I am not really sure since I mostly took the pics from a Chinese website and *gulp* I can't read Chinese so sorry if I am no help.
