WCY vs Z3F

How do these 2 stack up. Not much was said about them. WCY didn't make a personal appearance and even Z3F only had a few bits dedicated to him in the novels.

WCY passed away before he was 100 and Z3F only created his ultimate skill Taiji about that age. And WCY created the Xian Tian Gong which was a pretty impressive skill too. Plus even the Chuen Zhen basic kung fu was pretty solid in foundation.

Do you guys think they were comparable at the same age? e.g. 30, 50, 60?

If you subscribe to deterioration theory, there's no way that Zhang Sanfeng was a better fighter than Wong Chongyang. Perhaps a better martial arts theorist.

You need proof, too. You can't just say he's from a later generation and say he is automatically a worse fighter.

Yet, so many people automatically think Xu Zhu and Duan Yu must be better than Yang Guo.

i dont see why not, Xu Zhu have more power and better techniques than Yang Guo.

I tend to think WCY was better, if only because he had better competitors during his lifetime.

In HSDS, we do not really see Z3F's fighting scenes that much. In contrast, at least, we know that WCY won Mt.Hua Tournament against the other Greats. We can see how good Zhou Bo Tong is. From the skills of Zhou Bo Tong, we should have an idea on WCY's kongfu. Those 7 Quan Jen Taoists, WCY's disciples, are also not too bad.
