Apparently so, a lot of people have thought it was him, but it isn't. I thought it was very clear on the closing theme that it was not him.

I am still looking for the soundtrack album for SYDT! Can't find it on YesAsia.

Ah, the teenage mutant ninja! (We've got names for everybody in this series -- we called the series itself Adventures of What'sisface before we knew what it was.) Okay, that makes sense. One of the things I like about the casting is that they tried to cast people who looked like they belonged in the same family.
    Hey the thread is revive...

The cast the people who looked like they belonged in the same family?? Eh, I always thought the three brothers look nothing like each other. Yubo has his werid curly hair and Yang Jun yi has his straight hair. One is muscular, the other one is skinny. One tall, the other one... not really tall. And then there's Zhang Jin.... enough said.

No, I really thought they cast people who could appear to be related. I may be hallucinating, or remembering how this was really done for The Joy Luck Club.

Tong Bo was adopted, and they went out of their way to make sure you knew it by making him the only one with curly hair and wide rather than narrow eyes. Tong Zhan and Tong Xin looked as if they could be brothers, at least.

Yin Chou looked a lot like his uncle, whom I know only as Faithful Retainer Dude -- a previous poster explained that this man is a maternal relative and not a Yin. But I spotted Chou as a Yin right away -- round face and narrow eyes like Yin Zhong. Yin Hao looked like he really could be Tian Qi's father (especially the eyebrows and the slightly unruly hair worn in a unique style). We don't ever see Yin Jun, do we?

The three little thief sisters were only sisters by adoption, so you don't expect them to look the same.

I did notice particularly that Tian Qi and Tian Xue don't look much alike, but brothers and sisters sometimes don't.

Oops, I forgot Tong Bo was adopted... sorry, it has been quite sometime since I watched the show. But I don't really think Tong Zhan looks like Tong Xin though. Its a matter of perception I guess.

As for the brotherhood thingy, it is one of the thing I like best about the show. The trust and support that the brothers had for each other, the way that Tong Bo kept looking out for his two younger brothers. And that Tong Zhan loved his brother so much that he accept the fact Tong Bo apparently "snatched" away his Tian Xue, yet he bore no grudge against Tong Bo.

I don't agree w/ the brotherhood thing. They were not good brothers. Girl-guy love seems to be more impt than family in this series and saving the world is more impt then love to yubo. Remember when dou dou was injured, Yubo carried her away without even seeing his bro. And the heir to villa guy in part two did not even care for his sis and father when the evil girl was involved. That was disappointing. In part one, Yubo betrayed his bro's trust and dau dau's love to make the evil guy unaware of his plotting. I guess one could say that he was being noble and wants to make the world a better place for the one he love and those he care for, but he really hurt them emotionally. What if they had committed suicide, eh?

The one thing that happened that I can agree with you was where Doudou was standing in the pouring rain with Tong Bo, this is just before the big wedding, but the minute Tian Xue comes outdoors he drops Doudou and runs to her to help her. What a jackass. It's no wonder Doudou runs off after that.

I am kind of a Tian Qi ("heir to villa guy") fan, and that plus the fact that I don't understand what they're saying may cause me not to understand, but ... in spite of the fact that Yin Hao was always chewing him out about something, and Tian Xue talked him into going along with her schemes, I think Tian Qi loved them both. When he was told that Zhao Yun had killed them (and not Yin Zhong as he had believed), he looked stunned, and like he was keeping a stern hold on himself not to break down in front of everybody. I believe he cared very much indeed, but felt he could do nothing because Zhao Yun had some kind of hold over him. I still think she was blackmailing him with something.

I read a summary someplace that I'd sure like cleared up... Tian Qi receives that note that someone is going to try to take over Yu Jian Villa, but only one of the summaries says what it is about -- it has something to do with divorcing Zhao Yun and sending her back to her hometown. Was the threatening note from people who wanted him to do this, and he wouldn't do it, and that's why he holds onto her even with all she's done?

Man, I need an English translation.... geez, KSCI is showing Warriors of the Yang Clan now and it has English subtitles....

The brotherhood thingy I was talking about was only between the three brothers, I am not too fond of Tian Qi, cause I think he is such a wimp.

Yubo's ultimate goal was to save the people of Shui Yue Dong Tian, he didn't deliberately hurt Doudou and Tong Zhan, he only did that because he had no choice. And Tong Zhan did not hate him even though he apparently 'snatched' away Tian Xue, which goes to show how much he respect Tong Bo as an older brother. The bond between the brothers runs deep and strong, which is one of the best things I like about the show.

As for the leaving Dou dou in the rain, yeah, he was being quite a creep, but what else should he do then? Tian Xue was (if I remember correctly) his wife at that point of time, or at least about to become his wife, and she was sick and calling out to him. Of course he had to go and attend to her! Besides, he still had to put up the act that he didn't care for Doudou.

Regarding the note, are you talking about part 2? If the part i'm thinking about is the same as you, then the note was from his "sister." Either the real sister or the substitute. She wants Tian Qi to divorce his wife because wife pushed her and father down the cliff. She later said that she doesn't mind him being the master of villa but that her father told her to take over the villa if he marries Zhao Yun.

I think that Tong Zhan and Xin has more brotherly love than Tong Bac. Like I pointed out before, when Dau Dau is the main concern, Tong Bac forgot the other two's existence. Mind you, he is adopted, but I expected more from him.

Yes! English lyrics would be interesting (hopefully I don't dislike the songs after knowing meanings).

By the way, I just rewatched the series again and was confused on one part. Do you remember the scene when Yung Jun Yi first "officially" met Monica Chan's father? After Yung Jun Yi left, the father sad something to the effect of Yung Jun Yi being amirable and brave, then the evil "brother" commented about the other Tong person he met previous. He said one was more powerful and smarter then the other, but for some reason (maybe because of the viet dubbed or some fault of my own) I didn't know who he said was smarter. Was it YuBo or Yung Jun Yi?
I could translate them if anyone got me the mp3's /.wma's. I translate better when I can type it and listen to it over and over again instead of in front of the tv with a crappy pen and notepad.

Wow, can you really translate it? Thanks! Sorrie but I don't have the song, or else I would send it to you right away.

I was watching parts of this series and really like it. I just ordered the set and will watch it during my breaks from school work. I really like the cast and hope that the story line will be good too. I saw the ending the other day and like it overall. But we can tell that there will be a sequel since they left some things hanging. Gosh, I hate Dou Dou's older sister. She is soooo annoying... I can't wait to see the rest of this series.

I was going to translate the songs when I have time.....I think I will for sure, but it will take some time.

Wow, so many ppl will translate lyrics. That's so cool.

    Trinie:
This is a very good series w/ a lot of memorable lines. While some parts may be farfetched and corny, it is still very endearing.

    HI mystic dust!
I am glad to hear that it will have a good story line. I am currently translating an interview of Yu Bo(the one that played Tong Bo in this series) and he mentions this series as well. I can't wait to see it all.... I can't believe that I did not even notice this series before. Yea, I will be translating some of the songs so stay tuned. The lyrics are really nice....

Wait till you see "Legend of the Spirit Mirror". Every time Scheming Sis (Zhao Yun) appeared, I greeted her with a howl of "Oh God, not again!"

    they discuss it here:

I am so glad to hear you are translating the song lyrics and interviews, etc! Thank you!

Hi Kairu! Yea, I heard about how bad Zhao Yun gets in the second part. She is already annoying me in part 1. No wonder Tong Bo doesn't like her. Doesn't she realize that? I remember the part that she fell on top of him.. Oh my gosh.... It looked like she was trying to take advantage of him...

Yea, I am in the middle of translating a long interview that YU Bo had with his fans and some of the song lyrics as well so stay tuned.. I can't wait to post it for you and everyone to read....

By the way, I have a question about part 1 since I still have not seen it all yet due to school. Why did Tong Bo agree to marry Tian Xue if he liked Dou Dou. I know that Yin Zhong made them, but why did they abide to his wishes?? Were they blackmailed???When did Zhao Yun start liking Tong Bo?? Did he know that she liked him?
