Hi, I am watching a wuxia series called "Passion" (I think that is the English title, I don't know the Chinese one though) starring Ada Choi, and I am dying of curiosity after watching the trailer. Can anyone give me a spoiler for this series? Thanks a lot.

Have no idea about the chinese title since I am Viet. But Ada Choi is in it. It is about a general wanting to cleanse the Dong tribe off the surface of Earth. The people of the tribe have amazing natural powers because they can read stars, tell the future, etc. When the evil general tries to kill the Dong people, another general helps rescuing them, and he dies in the process. The tribe leader decides to isolate the tribe from the rest of the world. 500 years later, the now tribe leader is sick. His middle and youngest son decide to leave their mountain hideaway to go and get an heirloom from a famous family in order to save their father's life. They leave and meet the evil general who has apparently resurrected himself from death. He now is the advisor to that famous family. He realizes that the two brothers are the people of the Dong tribe and imprisons the youngest brother who is a little mentally challenged. The second brother is saved along with Ada by the oldest brother. The oldest brother is played once again by the actor who plays the good general, but only this time he has curly hair.

“Shui Dong Tian” is a legendary place beyond the horizons and a sacred place for martial arts. In there lives a mystery tribe – Tong Clan, each of them has their special gifts like understanding the language of the animals, understanding astrology, having the ability to communicate with every living thing on Earth and having formidable martial arts. According to the legend, the Tong Clan belongs to the nobles of the wartime. In the tragic wipeout of the clan, General Long Teng selflessly sacrificed himself to rescue and give pointers to the clan. Therefore, from then onwards, the entrance was sealed and the clan cuts all ties and communication with the outside world.

After in seclusion for five hundred years, “Shui Yue Dong Tian” and the Tong Clan had faded from the memories of many people and became the mysterious forbidden place and legend, which people look forward to find.

The story begins with the day the sun sets in and the clan leader of Tong Clan died. According to the rules, his eldest son, Tong Bo, should succeed the leadership. However, Tong Bo is a highly skilled person who does not like to fight with others or care an inch for fame and fortune. He is literally a person with no ambitions. He only loves the company of Mother Nature and to lead a simplistic life. His two brothers - the elder of the 2 younger brothers, Tong Zhan, is a warmhearted and impulsive person with a strong desire to win and a strong urge of curiosity. He places brotherhood above all other things in life. The youngest brother, Tong Xin, became retarded after suffering from pneumonia during his childhood days. Despite that, his marital art is equally skilful. The innocent and childish heart of his contains equal amount of curiosity as his brother but his inability to distinguish the good and bad made his two elder brothers anguish and worried.

At the very moment when Tong Bo was supposed to take over the role as the clan leader, the brother who values brotherhood ties, Tong Zhan, expelled his beloved elder brother out of “Shui Yue Dong Tian” in the name of carrying out his father’s late wishes. Tong Bo, who had never seen the outside world, was forced to face the drastic changes all in a single day. It is like he has just fell from grace to begin his encounters with the struggles and fights of the mortal world as well as a destined yet complicated love life.

Sorry, but does anyone know what will happen to Ada Choi and Tong Bo? It seems that Tong Bo will marry Monica Chan. How did that happen? What happened to Ada's older sister who had a crush on Tong Bo? I saw in the trailer that she slapped Ada quite hard. I wonder why? Once again, thanks for taking the time out to reply to my post.

I just rented the first 6 tapes of this serial, but have not yet started on it. My dad has and he says it is very good so far.

Read the character profiles at tvseriesfans and it sounds good. Also the poster makes it look good.

So many familiar faces!!! The one that really got me to want to rent it would be this one actor. I am not sure of his name, but he was also in Nicky's Xiao Shi Yi Lang. He was one of the supposedly bad guys that worked for the big evil dude. In the end he turned good and he sort of ended up with this one girl. Lol, forgot everyone's names now!!!!

Long Teng(played by Yu Bo): Male, 36 years old General of the royal army. Ancestor of the "Long" Clan 500 years ago. He and the tribe-leader of "Tong" Clan are best friends. Sacrifice himself to save the "Tong" clan from annihilation.

Tong Bo(Played by Yu Bo): Male, 26 years old
Next in line to be the tribe-leader of "Watery Moon Hollow Sky" clan. Confident and dashing, eager to learn and has an excellent memory. Though he can fight very well b/c he is very good in martial art, he perceives the world from the sideline and doesn't like to fight with people. Unmotivated, all he wants to do is live in the wild, away from people, but his father's death forces him to step forward into the outside world where struggle and chaos are.

Tong Zhan(Played by Yang Jun Yi)Male, 25 years old
passionate, impulsive, arrogant and likes to win. Younger brother of Tong Bo and Tong Zhan. A disease he has when he is little makes him into a honest and righteous man. Simple, naive and curious has very high martial art skill but he cannot distinguish what's good and evil so he can be good when he meets good people/situation, and can be bad when he meets bad people/situation.

Yin Hao(Played by Liu quan)Male, 60 years old
Quiet and reserved. Master of "Yu-Jian villa" and is a referee for any sorts of affairs who is deemed appropriate by the world for the job. Everyone respects and looks up to his morality and martial art craftsmanship. His biggest regret is that his daughters are stronger than his sons.

Yin Zhong(played by Norman Xu Shao qiang)Male, about 40 years old
he is the younger brother of Yin Hao. He looks like he's straightforward and sincere but he's actually insidious and ambitious. After knowing the legend of "Dragon-God" in "Watery Moon Hollow sky", he murders his brother so that he can manages "Dragon-god" to become "god" himself. From then on, he portrays 2 persons so that he can provoke people in the world to search for the whereabouts of "Watery moon hollow sky".

Yin Tian Qi(Lu Xing Yu)Male, 26 years old
Son of Yin Hao, urbane, good in both literature and combat, however he's indecisive and coward. He knows his uncle--Yin Zhong's ambition but he doesn't tell his father and doesn't have the ability to oppose his uncle. He becomes a good friend with Tong Bo but harms his good friend again and again due to his younger sister--Tian Xue's manipulation, therefore leading him one step closer to deviation.

optimistic, his kung-fu is top rated, and his parents are both dead, has vengeance to pay to Yin Zhong.

Yin Tian xue(Monica Chan)Female, 22 years old
Daughter of Yin Hao, younger sister of Yin Tian Qi, reticent, decisive and commanding. She always fawns on her father but her father never pay attention to her, so her feelings toward her father is both love and hate. She knows her uncle kills her dad but she can still carry on with her uncle like nothing has happened. The one she loves is Tong Zhan. After her unsuccessful bribe to lure Tong Zhan to work for her, she turns her interest to Tong Xin who has no comprehension of the evil of this world.

Dou Dou(Ada Choi)Female, 21 years old
clever and agile, her martial art skill however is absolutely bad, yet she likes to provoke others to fight with her. Unless she collapses, otherwise, she will not admit defeat. Her skill in burglary is fantastic but she always gets into trouble due to her attraction to fight with people. So, whenever she steals with Zhao Yun and Zhu Er, her job is to watch out for any unnecessary people or movement. She falls in love for Tong Bo but she finds it hard to get Bo (who happens to be a free spirit) to be interested in her.

Zhao Yun(played by Yang Guang)Female, 23 years old
gentle but connived, grows up with Dou Dou and Zhu er. They originally are best friends like real sisters but since she and Dou Dou like Tong Bo simultaneously, she concocts to harm Dou dou, but what she doesn't know is that her biggest enemy is Yin Tian Xue.

Zhu Er(played by Shen Xiao yan)female, 18 years old
sportive and kindhearted, timid but likes to mind business not of her own. Whenever she steals, there'd be clues left behind b/c she's too nice. Her biggest hobby is to look for gossip to talk about and spreading it but b/c she knows too much and doesn't keep those secret so often there're people chasing after her to kill her.

Han Ba Tian(played by Zhang Qian)Male, about 60 years old
cowardly but he's actually a nice guy. Doesn't marry anyone b/c of Long Po. Adopts Zhao Yun, Dou dou and Zhu er these 3 girls yet no one in the world knows his relationship with them. His "3-flower shop" is often mistaken as a brothel but the place is actually the biggest retail of stolen goods.

Yin xiu(played by Song Lai Yun)Male, 60 years old
A sorcerer in "Watery Moon Hollow Sky" who is impatient and short-tempered thus forgetful. Accustom to mumble b/c he puts his whole heart in astronomy and all kinds of scientific research. The only person he can laid eyes on is Tong Bo.

Long Po(Played by Zheng Pei Pei)female, about 50 years old
still pretty at this age, though she looks cool she's actually amiable, sharp-tongue but a kind-hearted person. Lover of Yin Hao when they were both young, they miss each other due to some misunderstanding. Later, she follows Tong Bo into "Watery Moon Hollow Sky" in order to take care of Tong bo.

Gou Zi(Played by Yu cheng xi)male, 20 years old
Han Ba Tian's worker. Cowardly and lustful, likes to gamble but never has any luck winning, likes to drink but never have the stomach for it. He'll serve anyone who has money and sneer at anyone who doesn't have any.

I just started watching this serial a little while ago. Almost done with tape 2 and it is indeed very good. I'm really enjoying it. Like all the artists in here. Hehe, finally found the name of the guy I like. He is the second brother Tong Zhan, played by actor Yang Jun Yi Just adore this guy. I don't like Yu Bo with curly hair........rather have him with striaght hair also. Anyways I just realized how so many of the castings in here were also in Xiao Shi Yi Lang!!! Hehe, gotta go back to watching the serie now. So good!!!!

Oh its fine. I think everyone else has a lot of questions too. This serie is new in viet anyways so there is bond to be a lot of questions. I am also watching it in the viet version so haven't gotten any further then you, but do know a bit more on it. Here are some answers to your questions:

Yu Bo and Monica's marriage was just fake. They only did this so that Monica's uncle would bring them to Shui Dong Tian to rescue the people that were frozen earlier in the serial.

I've been told that Yu Bo and Ada do have a very good ending in the end. Can't say the same for Monica and Yang Jun Yi though

Oh yes, there is going to be a part 2 to this drama. I think it is already done filming, but has not been released in any languages!!! Can't wait for it, hehe, havne't even finish the first part and I'm eager for the second already!!!

Here's some more info I found about "Shui Yue Dong Tian." Sorry, I can't link back because I forgot the site. And also sorry again if the info is too long and taking up too much space.

Since the beginning when the Creator, Pan Gu, created the world, the Tong Clan had possessed special abilities and was favored by the Court until the end of the Qin Dynasty. Betrayer Yin Zhong harbored evil thoughts and was expelled by the clan. In fits of anger, he seeked his revenge by badmouthing the Tong Clan and managed to get the Emperor to sentence the clan to death. Luckily, General Long Teng sacrificed his life to save the Tong Clan and managed to hide them in a deep valley. After the whole incident, the Clan leader felt that life is just passing clouds and fame and fortune are nothing but just reflections in the waters. So he named the hideout as “Shui Yue Dong Tian (SYDT)” and enforced the rule that no one is allowed to leave SYDT forever.

The protective charm of the Tong Clan – magic mirror was sealed with the blood of General Long Teng before his death but it disappeared subsequently. The betrayer Yin Zhong was injured by the magic mirror, which left a permanent injury on his body and kept on torturing him with continuous relapses. 500 years later…

The Clan leader was dying and his 2 younger sons, Tong Zhan and Tong Xin sneaked out of SYDT in hope of getting “Xue Ru Yi” from Yu Jian Villas. It was believed that it has the abilities to resurrect the dead. The eldest son Tong Bo rushed to their rescue upon hearing their plan. He managed to rescue Tong Zhan who was surrounded by the enemies; he also brought back the little thief, Dou Dou whom he had mistakened as Tong Xin. Upon their return to SYDT, Tong Zhan managed to see his father at his deathbed and was surprised that his father’s death wish was to expel his eldest son and successor-to-be, Tong Bo, out of SYDT. The “Xue Ru Yi” that he brought back was accidentally shattered by Dou Dou and this caused all the entrances to be frozen. However, Tong Bo, Tong Zhan, Dou Dou and the talented physician, Yin Xiu successfully escaped SYDT hoping to find the solution to unfreeze the entrances as well as to find the missing Tong Xin.

For 500 years, the Tong Clan had led a simple life without any struggles and many special gifts were lost in the process. Tong Xin was one of the rare talented ones, who have the abilities to watch the astrology, understand the animal language and practice magical powers. It is a pity that he suffered pneumonia in his childhood and left him with an IQ of a ten-year-old. Tong Xin was captured in Yu Jian Villas and the betrayer Yin Zhong, who had attained immorality, was delighted as he still harbors 3 wishes - the hope to destroy the Tong Clan, to find a cure to his injury and lastly, to become a deity. Seeing Tong Xin, his hopes were revived. Yu Jian Villas went into a state of chaos after the tokens of leadership – 2 pieces of “Xue Ru Yi” disappeared in the succession ceremony. The villa owner, Yin Hao, thought that both tokens were stolen by the Tong Xin and his clan people, but little did he know that the mastermind, who hires the 3 thieves including Dou Dou, was his own daughter Yin Tianxue. Tianxue is a very intelligent and gifted girl who had secretly learned the gongfu of Yin Zhong and suffered a weird disease, which can only be healed by “Xue Ru Yi”. Usually “Xue Ru Yi” was kept in the stomach of a python reared by Yin Zhong at the dungeon and it will only be taken out during succession ceremonies. Therefore, Tianxue specially hired 3 sisters, Zhao Yun, Dou Dou and Zhu Er, who were trained under the famous bandit, Han Ba Tian, to steal “Xue Ru Yi” but the plan were intercepted by the Tong brothers. In addition, Zhao Yun’s left arm was bitten off while trying to steal the token. Tong Bo and the rest decided to stay at Dou Dou’s house after they got out of SYDT. Meanwhile during the journey, Tong Bo and Dou Dou developed a liking for each other while Zhao Yun too fell for Tong Bo. However, Tong Bo rejected Zhao Yun’s love and Zhao Yun thought that Dou Dou stole him from her and developed hatred and jealousy for the couple. This in turn led to a string of mistakes and unpleasant events, as she turned more extreme in her thinking. Tong Bo and Tong Zhan tried to rescue Tong Xin from Yu Jian Villas and during their rescue, they were acquainted with Tianxue. Tong Zhan began to like Tianxue after many misunderstandings. Subsequently, the trio combined efforts to rescue Tong Xin. However, Tong Xin drank the blood of the python by accident and went under the same spell as the python. So they only recognized Yin Zhong as their master and willingly commit evil at Yin Zhong’s instructions. This pained Tong Bo and Tong Zhan but they found no solution to the situation.

In order to see Tianxue, Tong Zhan had been sneaking into Yu Jian Villas and this was finally discovered by the villa owner, Yin Hao. After various tests, Yin Hao was very impressed with Tong Zhan’s optimistic and open personality to the extent that he offered the hand of Tianxue to Tong Zhan. However, this coupled with the objections of Yin Zhong and Tian Xue. Tong Zhan was disappointed but little does he know that it was because Tian Xue does not wish to burden him with her weird disease. As for Yin Zhong, he wishes to make use of the clan leader’s gift to get the magic mirror so that it can help to heal his injury and become a deity. Tong Xin revealed to Yin Zhong that Tong Bo is the successor as the new clan leader and if Tianxue marries Tong Bo, then Yin Zhong can take the opportunity to follow them back to SYDT and make use of the magic mirror. Tong Bo and his gang unexpectedly discovered that Dou Dou’s house was the old house of General Long Teng’s descendants and Tong Bo himself was the only living descendant. Two decades ago, the Long family was almost completely perished by Yin Zhong. A loyal servant Long Yan risked her life to bring the last surviving descendant Tong Bo into SYDT where she entrusted Tong Bo into the hands of the clan leader Tong Zheng. After that, she sneaked back and hid in the dungeon city of Yu Jian Villas where she took pains to train Yin Tianxue as well as to find opportunity to take revenge against Yin Zhong for her owner.

After many struggles, Tong Bo finally acknowledged Long Yan and from her, he got to know that 500 years later after Tong Clan’s escape into SYDT, the mortal world will undergo another major crisis and he is the destined savior to rescue everyone. After weighing the pros and cons, Tong Bo decided to go along with Yin Zhong’s plan to marry Tianxue despite knowing how much Tong Bo and Dou Dou love each other. At the eve of the wedding ceremony, Yin Zhong healed Tianxue of her weird disease. Tong Zhan and Dou Dou did not know the real reason and were upset with their beloved’s decisions to marry someone else. The equally upset Tong Bo and Tianxue endured the pains and went through the wedding. At the wedding night, when the music roared into the air, there were four broken hearts. In order to conceal his immortality, Yin Zhong had been killing one member of the Yins every 50 years to adopt his identity and the latest victim was the villa owner Yin Hao’s younger brother, Yin Jun. Years later, Yin Jun’s orphaned son, Yin Tianchou grew up and sneaked into Yu Jian Villas to take revenge. He accidentally found out that Tong Bo and Tianxue had never consumed their marriage vows and he disclosed this discovery to his new friends Dou Dou and Tong Zhan. The duo ignored Tong Bo’s plea and trailed Tianxue back to SYDT. In the meantime, Zhao Yun was bidding one’s time to take her revenge against Tong Bo, Dou Dou and Tianxue. She followed the gang and was discovered by Tong Xin. She then tricked Tong Xin into a deep valley but he was saved by the long-lost magic mirror. The reappearance of the magical mirror did not bring joy to the people. It is nothing but a round stone as no one knows how to restore its magical powers. The only thing that the gang could do was to protect and prevent the mirror from falling into the hands of Yin Zhong. Zhu Er sacrificed herself to revenge for her boyfriend Tianchou, who was killed by Yin Zhong, and she left behind Tianchou’s jade pendant.

Everyone returned to SYDT, it was only then did Yin Zhong realize the rightful successor is Tong Zhan and not Tong Bo. However, Tong Zhan was unable to utilize the magic mirror’s powers without the help of the clan elders who were still trapped in the frozen SYDT. Yin Zhong then stole the magic mirror in hope finding other ways to restore its powers, Tong Bo and Tong Zhan followed him closely trying to retrieve the mirror from him. Tianchou’s jade dropped onto the floor and immediately unfreeze SYDT. The gang realized that this jade is “Xue Ru Yi Zhi Xin” that Yin Zhong had been searching for and it is the only way to undo the freeze. Yin Zhong ran away from SYDT and was stopped by Yin Hao, Yin Zhong then heartlessly injured Yin Hao into the waters. Yin Hao was captured by Zhao Yun, who used him as bait to lure Yin Tianxue. She then jailed the father and daughter into the dark hell of Yan Shen Gu. Tong Bo and Tong Zhan fought fiercely with Yin Zhong and all were injured badly. Tong Bo’s blood was accidentally spilled unto the magic mirror and restored its magical powers. With the help of the magic mirror, General Long Teng’s spirit and Tong Bo becomes one and fought side by side against Yin Zhong after 500 years. A final battle of magical powers and gongfu was fought, and Tong Bo hit open the entrance of Hell Yan and managed to send Yin Zhong into the fiery flames that vanquished him eternally.

SYDT resumes its original serene and peaceful lifestyle. Tong Xin was cured of Yin Zhong’s control spell and was back to his old self. Tong Zhan took up the responsibility to restore the name of Tong Clan but was upset that despite his continuous search for Tianxue, she was nowhere to be found. After all the struggles and misunderstandings, Ton Bo and Dou Dou were able to walk alongside of each other into their future.

Good news, Tong Bo's curly hair is gone in Part 2.

I saw this week's tapes a few days ago and it was good!!! Many more cute scenes between Monica and Yang Jun Yi and Finally there are a few scenes between them from the preview and ending video that happened!!!

Their love story sounds so tragic....even tragicer in the sequel!!! I can't wait to see more between them!! Its so sweet how they really love one another

I believe this is such a good series..... it keep you wanting to know more after every episode..... It's so annoying ... each week ...2 tapes comes out and you have to wait for another week...
I'm watching upto the part where the main character (Dong Bac) is injured (i think it was a needle which was put in his system..or something like that..) ... and I just want to know what happens next....
I like Dong Bac .. with his current hair style... he looks kind/ gentle in here than with straight hair (in Tieu Thap Nhat Lang)..
Couple wise... Dong Bac & Dau Dau ... they are so cute..... I like the part where Dau Dau got jealous so she sat by the lake and started talking to herself and Dong Bac came and was on his knees to swear that the only person he loves is Dau Dau.... how cute is that...

Yeah, your right on that. The curly hair does make him look "gentler" while his striahgt hair gives out a stronger aura. But I think he could give a gentle feeling while still having striahgt hair

Saw this week's tapes and it was sooooo good!!!! So much things are happening in these tapes!!! A lot of touching scenes too I must say!!

I thought the whole misunderstanding between Ada and Yang Jun Yi to eb rather amusing. It was quite sad to see them going through all that regret and shame, but finding out the truth amused me. Espically when that old guy was yelling at Jun Yi for using the pill....hehe. Funny how neither Ada or Jun Yi knew what they did wasn't considered that.

Gosh, how Monica told Jun Yi that she loved Yu Bo was so sad!!! Poor guy, was heartbroken and he felt betrayed!! But do agree with her, that is the best way to really keep him safe...

Oh oh, the scene where Ada tells Yu Bo she has to leave was heart wrenching!!! The look on both their faces, but they are not able to really show the other!!! Espically Yu Bo since Ada was able to let it out by crying...him though, poor guy. Very touching when he comes to see her after hearing she was "raped."

Hehe, my favorite scene in this week's tapes would be when the three brother sat looking into the distance They were all practically doing the same thing and when the older sister comes, it was so funny!!! The two talk basically the same thing and then the three brothers just walk away. Well Tong Xin was being pushed away by the two, but close enough. That was rather amusing!!!

Can't wait for more tapes!!! The marriage between Yu Bo and Monica should be in next weeks tapes!!! Hope there is more then just 4 tapes though, hehe.
