How many times can we count where a character falls off a cliff and actually dies? Probably not too many.

There's Ah Zi, but that's towards the end already.

If I was the director, I'd spend the first 2 episodes fleshing out an interesting character and have him fall off a cliff at the end of the 2nd episode.

He/She really dies and is never mentioned again in the story and viewers will be going WTF?!?!?

Who knows - maybe the character would gain a huge fan following and become a cult. If nothing else, characters like that are great at provoking fannish creativity...;-)
