He seems ok as Kangxi in the trailers. BTW, he's starring as male lead in new series, "Mei Gui Jiang Hu", opposite Huo Siyan, Sun Feifei and Sammul Chan. A pity his character seems to love Huo Siyan's rather than Sun Feifei's for i would like to see him together with Sun Feifei more.

I thought he did a good job in the 4 Guarded Detectives and looked really good, am starting to watch abit of Ni Shui Han now.

He plays Na Lan Rong Ruo (Xing De) in "Kang Xi Mi Shi". LOVE him in it. Very scholarly... He made a really good couple with Hu Jing.

    Here are some pictures!

The third one is my fav by far.

Aaaaaaand... here is an MV I found of the Wallace and Hu Jing in the series for you to enjoy.

    Thanks for the pics LiYuanZi.
I became a fan of Wallace Chung after watching this series great portrayal of a character who showed his strong and fearless side while defending his convictions yet seemed so nave and vulnerable at times. Will be looking out for his other series.

I really need to start watching Kang Xi Mi Shi. Wallace looks adorable as Nalan Rong Ruo, but I fear there won't be a happy ending for him and Hu Jing's character.

Clip of Wallace celebrating birthday #33 with fans back in November: http://video.sina.com.cn/ent/s/h/200...22015283.shtml
He says he wants to play the role of a father, but most script offers still require him to play a son. He's so cute. Can't wait to see him in The Duke of Mount Deer and Mei Gui Jiang Hu next year.

Lady Zhu Ge, I'm warning you, the only bit of Kang Xi Mi Shi worth watching is Wallace and Hu Jing's storyline... the rest is kind of bad. Xia Yu's Kang Xi is amongst the worst Kang Xi I've ever seen on screen. The plotline is pretty stupid... I won't reveal the specific details out of consideration of spoilers, but yeah, not all that engaging. However, Wallace's Rong Ruo is definitely worth watching (he's certainly quite the star)... he's very scholarly and fits the role perfectly. Wallace's portrayal made me really interested in Na Lan (the real person)! I've read some of Na Lan's 'ci', and I love them.

Hu Jing is also very good... actually, she's really really pretty in here, and there's a couple of costumes that I absolutely love.

Lol, I was on a chinese forum, and one of the people there commented how Wallace was pretty schizophrenic, first acting as Rong Ruo, and then as Kang Xi (in the upcoming Duke of Mt Deer). Well, it sounded a lot funnier in chinese...

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully Wallace has enough screentime to hold me over through the less enthralling parts. Xia Yu certainly doesn't look the role of an emperor at all, but I thought perhaps his acting might make up for it. Guess not, eh? Hu Jing seems to be in all the "Mi Shi" stories. I first noticed her in Xiao Zhuang Mi Shi and liked her better than Ning Jing.

Lol, that is kinda schizo, but let's go with a euphemism: versatile.

Aha, good wording, Lady Zhu Ge. I think the main reason Xia Yu's Kang Xi is bad is because of the script; the way they formed Kang Xi's character made him really selfish and unlikeable and completely unlike the great king he was.

The only Mi Shi Hu Jing isn't in is Tai Zu Mi Shi, and I do agree, she was really good as Su Mu Er in Xiao Zhuang Mi Shi.

Now... I gift you all with pictures. Merry christmas everyone!

    Hehe, cute. Thanks!

I'm not sure how I feel about Wallace's hair in these Mei Gui Jiang Hu pics. Sometimes it looks nice...

Yu Zheng said Wallace will have the most screentime out of all the male actors while the rest pretty much share equal screentime.

Thanks for the pretty pictures Lady ZhuGe!

I would rather have SFF as the leading lady, because I'm still making up my mind about Huo Si Yan. I don't know, sometimes I find her absolutely gorgeous (like in "Shao Nian Tian Zi" as Wu Yun Zhu), but then from certain angles, she looks quite plastic. And her acting is also substandard... and so, I prefer SFF. Ah well, I suppose we can't have everything in life. Still excited to see her working with Wallace though. If anyone here goes on chinese forums, where people come up with actor lists for different novels, you see the pair of them hypothetically working together a lot.

I have to add though that I'm not a particular fan of his hair. I think I prefer the manchurian style.

Technically both HSY and SFF are leading ladies; it's just that HSY plays the protagonist (white rose) whereas SFF is the antagonist (red rose). I would also rather have Wallace paired up with SFF and HSY with Sammul (maybe 'cause of The Last Princess, lol).

Actually the Manchurian hairstyle on Wallace took some getting used to for me. I like his hair best in Ni Shui Han.

Aha, I guess first impressions are important, because I saw Wallace first with the manchurian style.

And good point about the leading characters. I guess I kind of just put it that way because HSY is the protagonist and the one matched with Wallace, so I sort of assumed that she was the 'main' main lead.

Yes, very much so. What else have you seen Wallace in besides Kang Xi Mi Shi? Have you seen Ni Shui Han yet? If not, definitely check it out. Even though I consider myself more of a Julian fan, I have to say that Wallace stole the show!

I don't have the DVDs, so I resorted to watching it on tudou. Quite aggravating actually, seeing as I had to stop because I ran out of quota (renews in the middle of the month) and the speed is throttled, so it's impossible to download anything.

Has anyone seen trailers for the new DOMD? It looks... not that great. I mean, fantastic scenery and background, but it has the wrong feel. I'm not against mainland adaptations, but I have to say that I'm rather skeptical about this one... So I'm hoping Wallace's Kang Xi might carry me through it.

Omg, I found him! Wallace Chung is his name! Zhong Han Liang/Chung Hon Leung! He's my long lost childhood crush. omg I still can't believe it. I haven't seen him for over 10 yrs ...

Aww, so this is what he looks like now... still pretty cute! I first saw him in the TVB series, Shao Nian Wu Hu 少年五虎 (1993) where he played 'Ah Bee' (?) and I thought he was adorable, but I hated how the girl left him for the doctor. Lol, I seem to remember that scene.

Here's a short clip I found if anybody is interested:
