Chapter 5 Part 2 is completed now.
Will Qiu FengWu help Gao Li? They are so different after two years...

    Thanks for the comments.
If the problem with the webhost persists, I will try to think of other ways. But let's give this arrangement some more time to work through.

    Freehostia works well for me.

Qiu Feng-Wu must have improved a lot these past 2 years, both in mental strength and martial arts. So now he is worthy of being the chief of Peacock village and one of the top fighters in the realm.

His life journey is the complete opposite of Gao Li. But as the story implies, Gao Li still enjoyed the last 2 years more than he did, so power isn't everything.

I hope more Green Dragon blood is shed, Ma Feng alone is not enough

Chapter 5 Part 3 is completed.
Gao Li gets something good, and the table is turned.

Yeah, I just realized the webhost is working fine, but somehow my new workplace block the whole subdomain of freehostia. I don't know why, but I guess I have to live with it.

    Chapter 5 is complete.
    Will Gao Li prevail?

    Only one more chapter...
And it would not be Gu Long if there is no twist in the story, wouldn't it?

Thanks for translating. Hmmm I have 1 idea of what could probably happen in chapter 6, but I'm sure the story holds much more surprise that the small thing I'm predicting.

So this might be a spoiler or maybe I'm totally wrong about Gu Long's intention

Qiu Feng-Wu did not give Gao Li the real Peacock Feather, but because Gao Li believed that he did, that gave him the psychological edge over Ma Feng. Now what if another, stronger menace were to arrive, and the Peacock Feather turns out to be a phony

Chapter 6 Part 3 is completed.

Re. cliffhanger: I submit to Jean, who is the master of the cliffhanger.

I added what I had translated and what I had edited once to the website. Most of the time, I try to stay away from cliffhangers, but they occur from time to time. Just can't help it.

Wuxia stories, especially Gu Long has many, many cliffhangers.

Some of Chapter 6 Part 4 is translated.
I know it's kind of slow... just don't quite feel like translating this part.
But, don't worry, it'll get done.

Still on Chapter 6 Part 4...

There are some answers, but there is one big question mark waiting to be resolved....

The whole "Peacock Feather" story is now completed...

The end is so poignant, that no matter what other kind of ending I try to think of, probably none ends the story better than this one.

    Thank you all for reading.

Thank you very much for translating this story in its entirety. This is the 3rd novel that you have completed, your generosity is really great.

haha my prediction turned out to be half-correct. But Gu Long's enigmatic mysteries are so unpredictable that I can't uncover all of them.

The ending was awesome. I understand Qiu Feng-Wu's decision. It was still sad for Gao Li though. The poisoned wine was a nice finisher. I only realized that it was poisoned when Gu Long narrated that Feng-Wu had not touched his wine yet.

Imagine if Gu Long was still alive, and with all the experience that he gained over the years he wrote a final novel that combined the plot twists of the Sword and the Exquisiteness or Compassionate Swordsman Ruthless Sword, the moral themes and philosophy of Bordertown Wanderer, the psychology and character motivations of Peacock Feather, the hype for upcoming battles from Lu Xiao Feng, plus the humor and weird, interesting characters from pretty much all of his novels such as Third Master's Sword. Not to mention the other good novels that I haven't started reading yet, which I am sure has a charm of their own. That would be the ultimate wuxia novel.

Gu Long probably did not repeat the good ideas he already explored in previous novels since he probably had more fun exploring new themes.

Come to think of it, Gu Long led a life filled with many relationships, so which of his novels had the best romance? The relationship between Gao Li and Shuang Shuang was much deeper than say the relationship between Li XunHuan and Sun XiaoHong. A good novel has to have a bit of everything. I heard that's why Romance of the Three Kingdoms is the most popular classic.
