Ok, I have taken some pictures of my TVB DVD set. Can someone take some similar pictures of any of their TVB sets if the packaging is different from ines. I especially want to see how the "book version" looks like. I paid $120 for this at yesasia.com. But now yesasia is no longer selling this version and instead is selling the "book version" for only $60 Why would the price difference be 50% in just a few months?

I apologize from the upper post....I made a mistake. My version os ROCH does not state Modern Audio nor Taiseng. It just says TVBI. Is there a reason for this?

This is the menu for a random DVD:

As I said before, the version you have is the HK official release. Because Taiseng is selling their own version, Yesasia is not allowed to sell the official HK release in the United States. But people can still buy the ROCH HK official release at Yesasia as long as you do not live in the United States. Here is the Yesasia link:

    http://global.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept...id-1004094598/

As for your prices concern, no matter what products you buy, they are mostly expensive when they hit the shelf for the first time. If you want to buy them at a lower cost, just wait a few months for the price to drop down. You do not have to buy them on the first week they are released. I have friends who bought the original release (the one Betty has), the prices did dropped a bit but not very much. But since you bought it online, I think this is a different case here.

I personally would be happy to have the HK release, because first of all HK release is the ORIGINAL release. And secondly, I simply do not trust Taiseng at all, as I have stated my reasons on my previous post.

Somtimes, products that have higher prices might tell customers the overall quality of the products. Therefore I will not buy any TVB products that are made by Taiseng USA until I see numerous good reviews from people who bought them (in this case ROCH boxset).

Actually I always thought that products from Hong Kong would always be much cheaper than the ones produced domestically. So ROCH being US$120 for the HK version and US$60 for the US version kinda surprises me.

    warofgods,

Is it possible for you to take some pictures of the packaging of any Taiseng DVD releases that look like a book. I'm extremely full of curiousity to see how the book opens and how the packaging is inside.

So now I know why yesasia is not selling my version in the US anymore, but on the back cover, it says that it is only for sale "outside Hong Kong". Do you think they mean other countries besides the US such as Australia, Europe, etc.... I don't understand why Taiseng has rights to US and be different from other countries.

Oh, I'm not sure which version of ROCH you have, but is your menu the same as mines? I read on yesasia reviews that said one version didn't have any menus?

Taiseng is very strict and only wants US based stores to sell their products if they own the copyrights to it. Not to mention they do own the rights to TVB products in America. Also, because of Taiseng I ended up buying movie edited versions of some series cause they own the rights in America and don't release it in other formats.

Sorry, I dont have any pictures of packaging of any Taiseng products as I dont buy them. And Taiseng owns the rights in the United States only.

I have not bought at TVB DVD releases yet. And I dont think you need to question on the release you have because yours is TRUE Official release. You should be happy on what you have. heheh

I have not heard anything about the menus either, sorry.

I have just asked my Hong Kong friend, he bought the ROCH set at $800 HKD (which is about $102 US).

I'm not questioning whether it's the official release, but I'm just beyond curious as to how the Taiseng packaging looks like inside. IT's such a superficial thing, but I'm a packaging person too.

Do you guys think or know that they will release Return of Condor Heroes 95 with Carman Lee and Louis Koo? If so, I would love to buy it, because I want to see Behind the scenes of Carman Lee.

Also, Semi God Demi Devil 96 with Felix Wong and Benny Chan, I hope they release it in DVD too.

Any chance of this might be coming out?

I bought the ROCH also and I guess it the same as Yesaisa.com sale it for $30 each box which is the Taiseng version. The quality is AAA+ and the menu chapter exactly like the pictures that you post. Sorry I can't take any pictures to post as my friend has borrow the set. But all I can't said I don't think it necessary to purchase the expensive version if the quality is the same. My opinion only.

Here are some pics from my set. It is the actual HK version because it says "For Sale in Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR only".

Is the difference in music that obvious? Like I hope they're not putting modern music in it. I hate this George Lucas syndrome.

Ok, I'm a bit confused. So what I'm seeing above is your DVD boxset right? Is that what you call a slipcase? The funny thing is, it also looks like a book . Anyway, the packaging you have is called a Digipak and I too would love to see what the book version looks like. Please someone who has the Taiseng version, please post pics of your boxset! Also, can someone outside of the US (like Canada) buy the Taiseng version?

Well if ur a purist like me, it would be pretty obvious. Luckily they didn't do it too much in ROCH. I still have to watch LOCH to find out if they messed around with it. Regarding about ur other question about Taiseng stuff in Canada, I live in Vancouver Canada and I don't think I have ever seen Taiseng TVB stuff on sale. I see the odd Taiseng dvd movie or some stuff like that but i think Taiseng is mainly US.

Did the HK version of LOCH come with little bookmark gifts or other gifts like ROCH did?? Thanks for taking pix of the HK set!!! I can't wait to show my friend since she is still deciding on which one version to buy.
Respect other people's opinions and views. If we learn how to do that than all of these fights and arguments will not occur.

Do you mean the background music in the Chinese Language or in the Cantonese Language? I think in Cantonese Language the music is all original, untouched, and they don't add anything new. While in the Chinese Language, they mess everything by adding strange and unoriginal music.
