Xi Men Chui Xue and Ye Gu Cheng are quite equally matched, but XMCX was not able to show his best because his feeling's for his family became a barrier to his ability to become on with his sword so his moves were a bit slower then they should be, but at the time of the duel, YGC was superior, but earlier YGC's heart was unsettled and he would have died if he fought with XMCX, until LXF helped him unburden his heart and regain his edge. this proves the difference in winning is by the fighter's mental state, not just his skills.

    SPW - near
    LXH -

I think there are more that I missed and we should under SPCNET/Wuxiapedia/WuxiaSociety to try published all this competed novel so that we can have more wuxia book on our private library

First maybe the mods should create a new forum under SPCNET\OTHER\Publishing for wuxia publishing discussion, to discuss about the procedure, copyright, royalty, cost etc and do this a group effort.

    just my 2 cents

I must admit I was a little disappointed with the ending, I think I was secretly hoping that Ou Yang Qing would some how snarl our hero.

I was actually hoping for a little bit more details on the duel, but I guess Gu Long fails in the aspect of describing battles.

I think our hero is walking leisurely back to Ou Yang Qing at the end of the story.

What did you expect? It's Gu Long. That's his style. This is already pretty detailed for him.

ok, lol, this is my tips for reading GL fight scenes, read with very low anticipation and alway bear in mind that the big fight will never happen or someone going to interrupt the fight or deus ex machina kick-in.

GL usually give the big fight at the start or in the middle of the novel, to keep your interest to continue reading, and then build-up the tension and most of the time finish it with a PE. I learn my lesson with XYSL, while reading the book always imagining/anticipating the big final fight between Count Caferee and XYSL but it is never happen, also the same with final fight between LXH and SGJH.

LOL, I thought booze and drunkenness can cure PE, but currently it is not.

Most of GL books are just full with intrigue and mysteries especially locked-room and I'm sure he is imitating Doyle when writing LXF

I thought LXF asked for something honorable and upright (according to him), and yet terribly stupid according to worldly wisdom.

    click to show/hide spoilers
Maybe he asked the emperor to pardon Ye GuCheng's rebellion, or to suppress his name from being smeared. After all, once LXF's friend always his friend forever.

Is the end of book 3 complete? I went to Wuxiapedia and it says book 3 is almost complete but it says it's complete here so I'm kind of confused. Any help?

Before and after the Duel sure counts among the best things I've read lately. I love Gu Long's style.
Thanks very much for the translation. And thumbs up for job well done...

I was just re-reading this translation and I thought what would be really funny that what LXF got the Emperor to do for him is to get all the children in the Forbidden City to learn this song...

"Si Kong Zhai Xing, is a monkey faerie.
Naughty faerie, is a rotten rascal.
Bad bad rascal, deserves a big spanking."

I think LXF getting back at his old thieving buddy is more important than anything else, after having to dig 680 worms for SKZX in Book 2.
