Default OT: A request on bumping old threads

Ken here with a request for all Wuxia Forum posters.

I've noticed a recent trend of posters bumping up older threads just to keep them on the front page. Please: if you want to keep a thread active, add some constructive comments or questions that will naturally reactivate interest in the subject. If a thread has been inactive for a long time, it probably means that people have lost interest in discussing the subject. Let it pass. If the subject becomes of interest again, someone will naturally restart it.

    Thanks for your cooperation.

Unfortunately, without bumping the old threads, other ppl might not have the energy or chance to re-hash the old topics, to see them in a new light.
Without bumping, every good things became the same as bad things ... deleted.

Bump. Bump. Go on, search and bump the great threads.

OK, but when bumping, add something new and constructive to the discussion. Bumping for bumping's own sake seems like a waste of bandwidth, especially if the thread just withers again after the bumping (which is usually the case).

    Default bumpy dumpy

Yes, when bumping, maybe one should just do a quick re-hash of the whole thread or at least give a 2-3 line answer (poster's own opinion) of the TOPIC TITLE.

At least that give something for newbies to answer to rather then having to face 6000 pages of GJ vs YG vs the Fire Monkey from HSDS ver 1.

I know this thread has been closed for over thirteen years, but it's still pinned to the front page for a reason. If you're newer here, please be mindful of the rule stated in this thread.
