Yea, that's it! Yi Tien Lu Long Ji! My parents are downstairs watching the grand finale episode. They stayed up til 3 am watching it last night (or morning). I on the other hand was upstairs watching OHHJ. I'm starting to understand what you guys mean by the annoying neighbors, they take up too much screen time.

My mom actually didn't even know who alec's real name was when she saw hzgg and qssymm. She was originally vicki's fan, but after seeing vicki on interviews, she changed her views... Then she saw alec's "are you happy or no" mv with me on vcd when i was washing the dishes, then she started to like him... (he was cute in that mv)

Then my mom watched youthful promise, and she loved alec's smile...:-) And she started to pay attention to alec... You know i just promote and buy alec's tv series, vcd, movies, and cds... impossible for her not to notice...she also likes the natural feel of alec...

then naturally she saw his improvement in acting from Yi tian tu long ji to aegean sea... she's looking forward to yang warriors and magician...

I started liking Alec when watching HZGG I when it came out for a year or so i think... it was 1999.. i think. I liked Yong Qi at first and had NO idea who the actor was... later on, from different sources, i found out that his name is Tommy (MUCH later on Alec) and got weird piece of news of him here and there, dunno if any is true. that went on for a year or 2... later i discovered the greatness of internet and how i can LOOK FOR HIM ON THERE! haha and that lead to me today with all the updated news! haha imma TRUE freak now so yea... liked him for 5 years now.. and still growing!!! hehehe Love Alec, n love Xiao Hu Dui (too bad discovered em way after i discovered the solo alec lol)

I'd have to say, that my Mum likes Alec as well... not as much as I do, BUT, she has his CD on her stereo... which is terrific, isn't it?

She watches his series with me... (not that she really has a choice) but she doesn't find him a bother, thank goodness! She laughs about how I go ga-ga over how gorgeous he is nowadays and how absolutely adorable he was in the HZGG days! (And agrees, BTW)

When I started watching HZGG I, I rang up my grandma and asked if she knew who "Wu Ah Ge" was... *grins*

So yeah... that's about as "parent-friendly" as he gets in my household.
My brother gives me the *LOOK* when I go nuts... hehe.

My mum liked Alec heaps after watching him play wu ah ge, she started renting everything with him. I was surprised when she rented Taiji Prodigy and was deeply disappointed that Alec didn't get much screen time.

I really want to know how everyone here started to like alec...

here is my story...

First when i saw hzgg in china when i went back to china, i liked zhoujie... Even when i saw cousin jixiang on tv, i felt indifferent to alec... what really got me going was when my aunt and uncle said alec was part of little tigers band before and he sang very well. so i was actually curious about his singing and didn't know why he didn't sing anything in hzgg.

I started to like him in 2000 when i first downloaded "are you happy or not" song on napster. I had an affection for him even though that song wasn't appealing to the people around me... Then i just started to look him up on the internet. Guessed what, he was the CUTEST asian guy i had ever seen(spiked hair, deep brown eyes...)....Then I just loved him to death from then on....

ps. no school for me today!! a 6 day labor day weekend...

yup Alec is so well loved by everyone. My parents on the other hand just think I'm AV crazy.

I know I'm slow, but I just came to the realisation that OHHJ is actually a series made for the fans. That's why it's so much like your typical AV fanfic.

its becuz of both of those reasons hehe

my mom... i dun think she really DISLIKES him, nor does she like him (or at least she doesnt admit in liking him lol) I think shes actually alright with him, she just lieks to use him to tease me, and theres too much of him around the house.. therefore even more oppertunity to tease me... moms -_-

my mom just knows i'll bring his stuff everywhere! she was like, if I go back to china, she would take me to his concert or activities(i think she is also excited to go)... the other day, my mom said that if i like him so much, i should meet him one day if the opportunity exists...

she also started to like Chaerim when she saw the 1 and 1/2 hour show with alec in taiwan's promotion. She thought that chaerim is very feminine, sublime and pretty in real life...

after so many years of being a fan of alec, i feel like it's not his look that attracts me like in the beginning, but his true personality and affection for his fans... i admire his strength, perfection, and practical side... he just never disappoints me because of his constant improvements...

I guess my parents haven't got a thing against Alec... partly because he's very parent-friendly. He doesn't go around swearing his head off, nor does his kind of music upset anyone even if it's played a notch louder than it should be... and it's not like's he is a bad influence or anything.

Then again, my "obsession" (if it can be called that) with Alec is only in moderation... *laughs* I just found out who he was after watching HZGGI this year (which is amazing...) and I feel head over heels in love.

Chrissy, haha, it looks like there is HEAPS of Alec in your room alone... can't imagine what it'd be like if it's wallpapered around your living room, etc.

Emily, like your Mum said, you should meet him one day For me, it doesn't really matter if I do... or not, I know I wouldn't have anything to say to him if I do meet him on the streets (yes, I'm dreaming.
