From what I see.. the China version has subtitles, while the US version does not. The china version is only in mandarin, while the US version has mandarin and cantonese dual channels. It's not really a big difference for me though. Alec plays Hua Wu Que. Actually, his role isn't that.. great in this show. I think it's better to watch Pai An Jing Qi, if you want to watch a traditional costume show. Alec has a better role there.

I don't think you can really blame vicki for not being as close to alec as they were. If you have a boyfriend, and one of your good friends expressed an interest in you, won't you feel somewhat awkward when you are in the company of the person.

haha that scene was very cute indeed! and sooo touching in the end when vicki was standing agaisnt the wall that had the outline of alec's body, and she was like "xiao peng... happy birthday.." it was sooo sweet.

for all i know. it didn't sound liek ruby's real voice in hzgg. the only voice i recognized as original voices were of Vicki and Zhou Jie. (vicki sounds sooo cute as xyz) haha especailly when she's all hyped up or angry.

u know... but on the contrary, they WEREN'T feeling awkward towards one another at all. i mean, didn't alec say he had a thing for vicki after hzgg... ehehe god. and what, they still continued to pair up for ohhj, hzgg II, and hell, qssymm (eventhough they weren't together. every given chance, u can still see their closeness). and the promotion activities and concerts. they were inspeperable! and durign all that time, vicki did have a bf. all i have to say is, AV was really good friends despite all odds. (and though they are blind to it, we can see they've got great chemistry). Vicki once said "Alec and I are Fated" ........... ehehe oh how i just WISH they can collab again!

sufan, honestly, ur better off watching alec's other serials. Legendary Siblings wasn't all THAT great. jimmy n alec was cute, but the overall storylien wasn't too good, and god, that one female costar for alec was horrible. she looked liek she could be his older sister! ur better off watching Heavenly Sword n Dragon Sabre, or like foreva said, Perplexed Bloodhound.

The Singing voice is ALEC! *drools* for the singing bit, it is him and ruby's own voice, and ruby's voice sounds so weak when it first came on. *cringes* You mean that.. song that the four of them sing together right?

hehe ain't that but the truth. It's rather sad how life is eh? The farther apart you are from someone, the more the relationship-bond u have with them will slowly fade. I know there are some that will argue, no, and that true friendship/love has no time gap or distance to hold them back. But then again.... just ake a look at those long distance relationships, not alot of them really last long.
I for one do think........ esepcailly on those freidnship terms. no matter how close u might be to other person, once u see less and less of them, things tend to driff off. first u'd be like "hey, how's it going"..... then eventaully u'll talk less and lesss. and before u know it, it'll be merely "oh hi.............. long time no see. so how's life". it's like as if ur both barely acquaintances all over again.
If u don't put effort into keeping in touch w/ one another, chances are, u'd have to start all over agian with "getting to KNOW each other"........

and that's EXACTLY what i'm hoping AV can do when they can have a collaboration together again. but the funny thign is, once the getting better acquainted (again) is done, peopel do tend to catch up on things and click back together. (or that's hwo's it's always been around people i've known, and myself). eheh so yea. very wishful of me on AV as always.



TINA! now i know why u said u heard alec's voice. YES! ehehe in part 2 of hzgg, they didn't dubb out the casts voices when they were singing. (in that one scene where everybody was drinking and eating n stuff right? and they all started singing Dang? yea. right then n there, no dubbing. that part was alec's voice, along w/ everybody else.) but that was about it though.

oh yeah.. in Princess Returning Pearl Part 2 (in that one scene where everybody was drinking and eating n stuff when they start to sing Dang) i hear Ruby and the guy who play Er Kang voices was totally out of tune..!! do u guys think so?? well.. for me it was afwul enough, but not for Alec and Vicki.. they sing good enough.. and remember the scene when they decided to come back to the palace after they ran away from the Emperor.. They start to sing Dang song one more time right?? It was really Alec's voice though.. his voice is perfect.. =) Alec's and Vicki's voice is totally way better than Ruby and Er Kang (i forgot his real name)

well.. im looking forward to watch the Magician movie really badd!! but one more thing that im looking forward is to watch another movie where Alec and Vicki play together.. its been a while since they play movie together.. i mean movie as in series.. but i guess vicki prefer to play movie as in cinema rather that series..

This is so true. You are so wise Hien. ARgh, but i doubt that Alec and Vicki will be working with each other anytime soon. I need some more encouragement to continue to have that "AV forever" belief. Foreva, OHHJ is something I watch "part-time"... I keep going back to it and picking up where I left off weeks later and so I haven't watched that painting part. Although I found it absolutely hilarious when Vicki hid in Alec's hospital bed... trying to convince the nurse there was only Alec there... *laughs*

Yeah, as far as I know... the original voices are of Vicki and Zhou Jie due to their accents, which was by far more "authentic" with relation to the setting/era/time period of HZGG. And Hien, Vicki does sound VERY cute as XYZ! (And it becomes very powerful in QSSYMM...terrific acting!)

You're very welcome, Hien I just thought... there is always that possibility of them keeping it under wraps, if it DOES happen... or if it is happening. What are the odds, really? It's not something we can speculate about, or argue about... but yes, I know you're very "blind" when it comes to them!

Boy Alec does have such a cute baby face. I think he was around 25 years old when he played HZGG, but he really looked like he was only 19 or 20 years old.

Even in HSDS he doesn't look like he's 30 years old.

But, have you guys noticed that during this 6 years he's "Grown" a bit---he looks so much skinnier in HZGG--

Absolutely cute..but for some reason he seemed to have more "baby fat" in HSDS 2003--doesn't mean he's not cute though. In fact, I thought he looked absolutely handsome in that series. He seemed too skinny in HZGG--but of course absoulately cute.

debbie, you should finish watching it. You can fast forward all the parts with the neighbours, as they are not really connected to the story line. But watch all the vicki and alec parts! and I can't stand xiaopeng's secretary as well, at least in the beginning. He kept trying to break them up. But I like Xiaopeng's ex-fiancee. The hospital scene was hilarious! when alec try to drink the water from the cup.
