you know some winglin authors write at 3rd grade levels that i don't even want to waste time reading...but yours is finely written! vocabulary, conventions, length...everything...

one suggestion...though...can u pace the plot a bit? i want to know more about the story....such as the climax... everything else is fine!

Debbie, how is Empress Wu so far? I really wanna watch it! Miracle Healer is one of my favorite series, if you guys haven't seen it yet, its a must watch! I think Alyssa and Vincent make a great couple. I have seen her on kang xi before. She's adorable. I LOVE her. When she gets back to acting I hope her and Alec will do more shows together.

anyways..i'm at stanford right now..taking classes...summer session...having fun in cali！

i watched 8 episodes of magician and gave up on it:

i don't mean to be rude but:
1) alec is alec..he's the best one in the series..but still
2) i hate kangta..not only is his character a total jerk..but he looks too girly
3) ruby....AIYA! she hasn't improved since the last time i saw her series..which was qssymm...same puppy faces...same crying techniques...same speech..same everything which bothers me soooo much...

and plot.,..some parts are super draggy

so yeah...if u were asking me..i wouldn't buy it...but then again...take a second opinion cuz i never liked AR or just plain old ruby

of course, there will always be personal bias toward watching a series...it's an actor's job to allure the audience...it's not their fault that some ppl might not like them...

the best for an actor/actress to do is to handle their character like what they are suppose to and wait for the public opinion...

I really like magic, not because it's AR. I like it because it's different...

we all know that the popular idol series today focuses so much on "LOVE" that I'm getting tired of it...it's either person A likes B, person b likes C, A hates C....a never ending entanglement on love...

Magician focuses and directs our attention to family love and values at the end though the audience tends to think it leans toward a love story...after u finish, u realize that it's really a theme story of family and its importance, hence making us feel disappointed about its tepid love story.

Also, the story is a personal shadow of Alec's real life journey. The script is very closly connected to our own lives. Some of the elements are always around us such as quitting school, reaching our own dreams/goals, unexpected events, etc.

it's only fair to judge an actor by how she/he portrayed what the character wants it to be in the script. Therefore, i think the actors in magic did very well...

This series was kangta's first. He did very well consider that he had no previous experience. Jing Xiu is a complexed character, and fortunately Kangta was very close in pulling it off though some deeper emotional feelings were void...personally comparing his acting to alec's first acting, kangta indeed has great potential...

Niu Meng Meng ruined her image by accepting the role. Comparing to her first series in Taiji Prodigy, the improvement is incredible...though her character might imprint some negative image unto the audience, it also opens up her own opportunities for producers to notice her.

Alec's acting also improved from Yang Warriors, at least the crying and sentimental scenes. His familiarity with the character might have helped along the way. He is finally in his real voice...i personally feel that his pronunciation has changed...at least for the better...he needs to work more on his breathing...you can always hear a faint sigh when he speaks...meaning alec needs to practice on that to avoid the unnecessary breathing sounds...

I def. feel that Ruby's acting improved from before... in her previous tv series, she acted more externally than internally...this time, she changed alot...there is more depth in her acting...suggesting a full understanding of the character...


the chemistry between alec and ruby was great...because of the ending, the moral issues disallow the script writers to add any spicy love components...A and R were very natural...they don't look like they are acting out anything...their love is really what real love is in the real world...which might be a disparate approach in attracting the audience.

We really don't know how the series will do on tv...but i really do have confidence...beside the cast, the story is truely a one of its kind...it's not a fairy tale fanfic story or mushy love romance, but an everyday, simplistic story...

a tv series is never 100% perfect (unlike alec), but the petty weak spots will be eclipsed by the other spectacular aspects...

all in all, it's a successful production.

Hmmm honestly, it's not like i'm expecting to be. the story kind of dragging and made me so bore *luckily there;s Alec * and that girl so iritating especially with her sexy outfits which gave a low respects. and lol don't tell me about Alec Su!! he's so great!! the expression when he got mad, sad, depressed, and the crying !! soooooo perfect !! not to mention he uses his real voice!! Kang Ta is okay eventho he needs more improvements. Ruby Lin, hmmm... my perception about her never changed tho, it's not because the pairing thigs, but her acting is just like that!! but less annoyed than her previous works tho.

Well let see when i'm finished it, maybe my opinion kind of change

hmm they both have the same number of episodes..but im thinking its beta to buy the taiwanese version (do check out the opinions of others too ) cos from wat we see from Aegean sea and Yang Warriors the china versions always tend to be heavily edidted esp those love scenes...

xAnax, they are exactly the same, in my opinion, since it is a China drama. It probably just has different packaging or traditional subtitles, and at the most different dubbing maybe. I have the China version. I forgot if it was Alec's own voice or not...better rewatch it then!

I haven't finished it yet so I am unsure if its draggy. I like it a lot so far. Not as much as I did when I first watched it though. I think its because it makes me sad. It gives me a creepy feeling sometimes. The scary music is kind of unnecessary, imo. It makes things way dramatic when it really isnt a big deal.

Powergal, ita you summed Magic fate perfectly. Alec & Ruby had pretty good chemistry. Ruby has indeed improved. I felt for her character. The acting was superb. Niu Meng Meng was in Taiji Prodigy? Hmm...well, I only saw a few episodes so...

one time i read on ruby's website (a year ago) that a ruby fan's friend is a makeup artist in the entertainment circle...that friend attends many celebrity events and said that Alec and Ruby went out before but are now best friends while ruby and mr. tang director's rumours are all made up...that's the only thing that i can tell you...other than that, i really don't think that A and R were ex-lovers, but ruby and jimmy are ex-lovers...

ps. KaiLien, nice to hear that u like it. magic fate isn't draggy compared to aegean sea and yang warriors, no need to worry about that. the last 10 eps are better than the first 10.
