Well, why would you want his picture for? I don't think there's any handsome pix of his hanging around because he isn't handsome at all.

thanks, I already saw some of the pics of him, yep the guy wans't handsome, I mean, just a sharp or clean picture of him.

I'm gonna translate one of his book into French, I want to sell my translation, if the distributor accepts my business, it'll be cool that the book could have a small picture printed in the back cover

I found two pix of him from the internet, the first picture is a scan from a hk magazin, so the print sucks, the second one is a nice pix but he was a kid, (around 15 years old)

I credit every one who can help me out.

    thanks in advance

Wow... translating in French. What a wonderful talent. It is a hard business being in the book/publish industry without knowing anybody in the top.. so I really wish you good luck.

    thanks,

A friend of mine, she has somme connection with the publishers in france, well I'm not Chinese, but Vietnamese but I know damn well the novel Xiao Li Fei Diao, I can translate as good as a Chinese version since Chinese and Vietnamese are very close.

I think I'll translate the whole book, make a nice covert art, write some good reviews about Gu long and his work.

    Well, If they buy my translation, I'll get a bit of cash, otherwise I'll print some nice copies for my friends and my family just for fun;

I'm looking for a picture of Gu Long for putting it at the back of the cover, and there'll be a small liner notes about the storytelling

Have you tried to contact Guo Long family or whoever has the all the rights for publishing as well as media?

As for Jin Young, you need to have his permission from Jing Young in order to translate. I believe Moiny and Lanny Lin are the 2 people who officially got the permission.

For preventing any legal issues, you might want to look into that in order to have French company publishes your work.

    Hi there,

read my post previous, I'll translate it , then I'll try to sell my translation since I have a connection with a French distributor, I respect the writers, and the artists, so I'll ask the distributor for purchasing the right, in France you can't sell a DVD or a book without having the right.

France isn't China, there's no bootleg DVDs, or unlegit books selling in every corner of the street

If I just go to see the distributor and tell them ," translate this book, gu long is greate", they'll laugh at me, "man, who is gu long, are you phucking with us"

the best way is having a part of the novel translated into French, then I'll show them what that is, so they could read it, and decide wether they want it or not

Yep, I'm not being funny, no one know who is Gu Long in Europe, besides some Asians

Eh... well.. the publishing company wouldn't care less for you translate the story or not. But the right of the novel published in any language is up to whoever has the all the right of GL work. I thought you knew this. I guess you may not know the legality.

    my god, it's ***-king true.

any way, the Western don't give a sh!t about Wu Xia, if you don't want to show them a sample (one or two chapters translated), well, there won't be any book published in Europe.

errrrr.... I think LOCH has been translated into French. I dunno if it's been published into book(s) or just a fan traduction. If it is published, you might be able to follow his/her step regarding legal issues like Yon said.
