This series isn't bad..quite entertraining but predictable. It is about the story of Zhang San Feng (Vicent), his fortune and his love. It is pretty much like another version of Zhang San Feng...Dicky Cheung, Kenny He etc... What makes this one different from the other version of ZHang San Feng is his relationship with Ming to be emperror, Zhu Yuan Zang (Which I found his story is more interesting than the main character)
Lee Ruo Tong's performance isn't bad too.

There is a lot of name dropping too based on the Condor Trilogy.

As a bonus, there is even an epsiode featuring the mighty Lin Chaoying, the famous love interest of Wang ChongYang!
Would you love me in the Twilight Zone?

It just recently came out in Chinese, so the Viet version won't be available for quite awhile.

I haven't seen this series yet, so I can't make any fair judgments about the acting or characters.

Towards the end of the Yuan dynasty, in a time of conflict and strife, many heroes arose.
Wudang held a celebration for qiu chu ji's 100th birthday during which, Zhu yuanzhang, a monk from huang jue temple, ma zhi nan the goddaughter of rebel leader guo zi xing, shen rong a lady from a wealthy family and Zhang Junbao, one of qiu chu ji's disciples became good friends.
chi bilie huo lang who had been training hard in the desert for many years went to Wudang to challenge qiu. Qiu gets badly injured and lies on the border between life and death while junbao gets captured.
Zhu Yuanzhang enlists with Guo zi xing's rebels but is framed forced to become a beggar. Seeking death, he jumps of a cliff, fortunately, he is saved by Junbao and recovers his confidence.
Shen Rong who had a relationship with Zhu Yuanzhang searches for him as she is pregnant, but finds that Zhu has married ma zhi nan to gain control of the rebel army. Shen Rong's great sorrow causes her to have a miscarriage and dies, and Junbao is devestated with sorrow at her death.
chi bi lie, finding out that Qiu is not dead, goes to Wudang once more to challenge him and they end up injuring each other. Before he dies, Qiu leaves behind am eight word secret mantra for Junbao. Junbao has a revelation regarding the secret mantra develops the taiji fist and renames himself Zhang SanFeng.
After Zhu becomes emperor he wants to kill everybody and will not even spare zhang sanfeng. In anger, sanfeng kills the 18 dragon horsemen and barges his way past palace security to kill Zhu. Ma zhi nan, now empress, rushes to beg sanfeng not to kill Zhu. Sanfeng has no choice but to let Zhu go and retires to Wudang, no longer questioning the martial world.

I have to say that I personally do not like this series, it butchers history terribly and the CGI effects are overused (badly I might add) and extremely cheesy. The fight choreography appears stiff and forced and Jiao En Jun is about as far from smooth and flowing with taiji fist as it is possible to get. Also, there are too many scenes where the characters try and act cute (Jiao En Jun doing so is particualarly goosebump inducing). Having said that, if you enjoyed shui yue dong tian (I know that shui yue is a mythical fantasy rather than wuxia but I disliked the same things about both series) you might enjoy this.

Errmm.. oops actually it does... sorry about that:
chi bilie huo lang AND XUE YING who had been training hard in the desert for many years went to Wudang to challenge qiu.

Kind of missed it while translating since it is mentioned only once there and I was doing a direct translation.

I watched this series because my fav actor , Yan Kuan was in this series . THe story of Zhu Yuan Zhang was more interesting than the main character's but I wonder if this series distorted history . It seemed to debase Ming Tai Su Zhu Yuan Zhang 's image .

Xue Ying did get killed by some arrows . Zhu Yuan Zhang kinda had something to do with that . His archers were gathered to kill Jun Bao and Huo Lang but Xue Ying was involved .

Wudang II is out and starring Wu Jing. Still lots of lousy CGI effects.
