Common misconception about Yao. He's strong...very strong look how massive his legs are. Yao get's pushed around because he plays weak (not a jab at Yao) he doesn't know how to use his height and strength to his advantage...yet.
True he he's had huge legs since his pre nba days. But next to no upper body strenth. He's like a t-rex. He needs to put on some weight in the upper body so guys cant push him around. Sometimes he does battle to get in position put it just looks like he cant get deep enough, wether its a physical or mental thing im not sure but it does look like he's pushing.

Sometimes, the thing that annoys more than Kobe's shot-taking is during stretches of time he would bring the ball up, do a couple of dribble moves, and then either pull-up for a fadeaway or drive for a near impossible J. Zero passes, zero points, zero tries for any kind of set offense, and it leaves a bad taste in your mouth watching it. Another thing is that whenever he does decide to pass it rather than shoot it, you get a feeling that he's doing it not out of trust in his teammates or trying to get them involved, but to prove a point. That'll be something he needs to work through.
Agreed. Kobe dosent necessarily have to shoot less but letting them touch the ball would be nice.

Kobe is a nut job and I hope he drive the L.A. Lakers straight to the lottery. I live in Philadelphia (Kobe went to Lower Marion high, which is Upper darby right next to Philadelphia) everyone here hates him, my friend used to go to Lower Marion High and he told me that the high school retired Kobe's jersey but almost no one attended the ceremony. Oh and we did boo him at the 2002? All-stars game

...shiat man... i already read the comments KB made before and then i read this on espn this morning. I respect KB as a player but im losing so much respect for him as a person. When LA was winning titles i think i kinda turned a blind eye to his obvious attitude and ego problems but now that LA's not even a guranteed playoff team its becoming so easy to hate him.

Man i seriously cant believe Kobe would go public with his beef with Karl. Seriously i read what Karl said to Kobe's wife and i can see how she could find it offensive but what the hell made her think that Karl was hitting on her??
She asked what are you hunting for cowboy? twice and karl responded with "little mexican girls" i think Karl was just *trying* to be funny.
Then KB comes out to trash Karl with it to take the heat off his big mouth comments at radio show not 2 cool man.
wow..04-08....4 years just like that..time flies..

Karl Malone is notorious for having absolutely no tact or sensability when it comes to females (or foreigners or AIDS-sufferers like Magic). So it's not a surprise that he would say something that might offend one female or another. But it's pretty obvious this is just a misunderstanding that happened one month ago and should be and should have been cleared up quietly within the locker room. To bring out this kind of crap after spending a week trying to make Karl look like an overreacting prima-donna is just low and beyond stomach-turning of Kobe.

Also, I mean, seriously, so what if Karl Malone did hit on his wife for fun? What moral high ground does Kobe hold here? Malone wasn't the one who got accused of rape, publically admitted to cheating on his wife numerous times, bought her a diamond ring worth $4mill to keep her quiet, all before making a backhanded comment about how Shaq does this all the time. Yeah, boohoo, how dare Karl Malone talk to his wife?

Post position is mostly lower body strength and Yao is one of the strongest players in the league. No reason for him to get pushed around.

It's all mental there's nothing wrong with him physically to prevent him from being a very good post up player.

No Malone hasn't been accused of rape, but he has fathered many children out of wedlock. Malone hooking up with underaged girls.

Malone may be 'cleaner' publicly but Kobe is no worse than he is.

bought her a diamond ring worth $4mill to keep her quiet
Most married men when busted for cheating try ways of keeping thier wife. Common folk don't have $4 million at their disposable, Kobe does.

Kobe's wife told him that Malone hit on her and he has no reason to believe otherwise. Scum of the Earth or not, Kobe has every right to react if someone was hitting on his wife. Especially if it was a 'friend'.

Now I think about it, that flying beer cups are sooo halarious! I think that dude who got hit by the beer cup (the Detroit player right?) is a crying baby. I heard he wanted to take a break from him working too much on his record or something? Crying baby... *sniff sniff.. I only make 5 million dollars.. i need more break.. sniff sniff*

I want to see Duncan. Lex and I like him playing.. Will take a picture of Ray Allen forr ya, if I can then~

Huge difference between fathering child out of wedlock and getting accused of rape. Maybe Kobe is no worse than Malone, but he certainly ain't better. At best, this is the pot calling the kettle black, at worst this is the crap complaining about the lint on the toilet paper (or something or another, I don't know, don't have a clever analogy handy ).

Kobe's wife told him that Malone hit on her and he has no reason to believe otherwise. Scum of the Earth or not, Kobe has every right to react if someone was hitting on his wife. Especially if it was a 'friend'.
Of course, but that was A MONTH AGO. He can react all he wants, behind close doors he could beat the snot out of Malone and I wouldn't blame him. In fact, I wouldn't really have minded if he called Malone out right away. But he didn't, instead calling Malone out in public like this after about a week of Kobe reacting like nothing's happening between the 2 of them and acting like Malone's friend without a clue of what's going on. This means that his wife told him, and Kobe sat on that for a while, said nothing, and waited for the opportunity to use that to make Malone look bad. That doesn't paint a pretty picture. On top of that, what about "being fair to his teammates" that he was so keen on about a week ago? He went and complained about how Karl was being a distraction to his teammates and then drop this bomb a week later?

Hopefully far enough so they can land a top 3 pick cause they aint beating the elite teams without Artest.

The big lithuanian, Chris Paul or Taft would look mighty nice in their lineup.

Yep - Great message that Kobe is sending.... If you ask me it makes him look like a complete utter fool...

It's like "hey look at me! Look how great I am taking 20 shots to get 18pts, shooting 22 shots to get 20pts, shoting 24 shots to get 20...". (No fool in the NBA takes more shots to score points than Kobe at the moment) Hey LA don't need Shaq because we got Chris Mihm scoring 20+ points in LA victories....

But who needs Kobe then, if he needs to take like 25 shots in those win to score 20 pts, and Chris Mhim only needs like 10 to 15 shots to get his 20pts.

Kobe would be making a statement if he went say 10/12 FG to score 20points and Chris Mihm has huge games...

He's a laughing stock when he takes more shots than he does score and Mihm bails LA out of close games...

Mihm needs Kobe. Mihm cannot create shots for himself, most of his baskets are when he's the recipient of a great pass from a teammate.

Mihm bails LA out of close games...
We know you want to bash Kobe, but pick a player with more credibility. Odom would be a much better choice.

Anyone who watches the Lakers (or only checks the boxscores) know Mihm isn't that important to the Lakers.

is it lex luthor that you are going out with?

shaq vs. kobe or kobe vs. shaq? who cares? the lakers and the heat won't win the championship this year. is not like they are playing the same position and have to guard each other.

chris mihm, the lakers' starting center? the guy couldn't play for the cavs and the celtics. any good centers will have a big game when they play against the lakers. so, i predict shaq will score 30 points, grab 18 reb, block 5 shots, hit 6 out of 15 free throws, and beat the lakers.

sonics is the surprise team this year. just wait til ray allen get hurt. he might step on bowen's foot again.

AND ALSO 1 FLAGRANT FOUL - to put Kobe in hospital and out for the rest of the season. If Shaq's lucky he might deliver a career ending injury to Kobe Bryant....

that's not shaq. if it's dirty malone, the probability of that happening is very high. i don't know how many of you remember the cheap shot malone put on isaiah thomas in 91. isaiah had torching stockton for 43 points before malone intentionally elbowed him in the head. blood was pouring out. it required 40 stitches!
