yeah maybe, they only have golden state, utah and minnie next. everyone's already talking about them going below .500 right now though.

So basically you're saying it's the coach's fault the player never reached his potential? Basically Doc Rivers screwed up Gooden's whole career at Orlando.
Yup, how does one reach potential when he's never on the court. 4 and 3 are very different positions. Can't slap a mobile PF at SF and expect the same results. Doesn't work that way.

You DO realize i was talking about NBA STARS
Do YOU realize we're talking about a bench player. BENCH player!! Don't expect him to put up 20/10 off the BENCH, don't let Bron/Amare spoil you either MOST rookies do not join teams and start over an established 19/9 player or put up huge numbers off the BENCH. Have I stressed that Gooden was a BENCH player enough yet? 12.5/6.5 off the BENCH is productive

Jamison was 15/6 and won 6th man of the year
    Corliss 14/4
    Rodney Rodgers 14/5.5

Gooden was putting up near '6th man of the year' numbers. But that isn't productive

And no i dont think i'm using 'bust' loosey at all but whatever, i get to use it however i want, right?
Throw the term around as loosely as you want. You're in the minority calling a 14/10 guy doing things to help his team win a bust.

    *looks at Ben Gordon*

3rd overall pick with those numbers? Can't even start over Duhon? OMG Bust

duke players are overrated. it's coach k's system that makes duke basketball tough.

Hinrich is not the best young pg because luke ridnour is.

don't worry about yao. once van gundy out or yao goes to another team, he'll develop into a great player.

Hmm i don't agree with u about jay william being a dud, if u ask me he was pretty promising beofre the motor biuke incident, and if it wasn't for that crash i seriously doubt chicago would of piked hinrich for pg. U watch when jay requires he will be better than hinrich, same goes with tj ford, i rate them to above hinrich when inform.

laettner had a break out season one year at Atlanta but I think he just give up playing hard after that...

I mean I think all the players that make it to the NBA have talents just I think the lost something during their stay.

would jwill have been a perennial all-star if he hadn't injured? he was supposed to be like AI but stronger with a better outside shot.

He has his own blog section on NBA.com, seems like his recovery is going good and he's still young (23?).

Perennial Allstar? Yup. He had the tools to be a very good player. Guys like AI, PP, Kidd and Marbury are getting up there in age.

I don't know about "perennial"... I've watched him up close while in college and the best I can see him as is a poor man's Dwayne Wade. He isn't as big or as athletic as Wade and has this bad habit of going into bad bad shooting slumps.

I think Wade is overrated too. His 3s% is horriable and his free throw should be better if he wants to be the go to guy. The reason he is getting all the attention is because Shaq is pumping the media about him and last year because there wasn't anyone great on the Miami team.

I don't think he's overrated but I do think his stats are inflated (because of Shaq)

3s aren't important I rather have my guy drive it strong.

    1) Its a much higher % shot (50% shooting is very very good for a guard)
    2) Draws fouls and he can get to the line for easy points.

Career 75% FT shooter. Isn't gonna hurt his team shooting that %.

He's pretty turnover prone but you expect that from young players.

Dwyane Wade was awesome in last year's Playoffs, against the Pacers. I doubt I've ever seen a rookie carrying a team like this so impressively during a Playoff series against the NBA's no.1 team.

Wade didn't really stand out that much during the regular season last year, but he moved it up a notch for the playoffs, credit to him.

That's because Francis ain't in the West no more.

On a related note, wouldn't everyone want to see Grant Hill starting in the ASG ahead of VC? Am I alone on this one?

I think both VC and Hill are leading in votes in the East at the forward positions... so I assume they are both going to start... unless Oneal jump up ahead in voting in the coming weeks.

In that case, how about O'Neal in front of VC? I mean, ANYBODY except VC. How exactly is he a forward anyways? And given that he's tanked two teams so far this year, how exactly is he getting votes?

There's no need to wait. Wade is already a better player than either TJ or JWill could ever be.

Besides both player's career is essentially over. Even if they make it back they won't be the same player. Comparing them then would be even worse.

The casual fan doesn't know him. People that follow basketball know he's a whiner and I wouldn't pick him over Bron, Wade or AI. Not being top 3 in east isn't suprising.

He has lots of fan both in Canada and in US... when he was in Canada I mean everyone here voted for him.... and if you hear what other NBAers say... they always said he is the best at dunking, etc... So that can grow with popularity.

I think O'neal should of been voted higher but because of the thing that happen in detroit... that didn't help at all. I mean if they start Hill and Carter... to contain Garrett and Duncan (who I assume will start in the west). It is going to be a long game for the East even if they have Shaq at the post
