*shameless plug* I wrote a review on General Father, General Son a while ago, which is the story of Sit Ding San and Fan Lei Fa from the 80s. There's spoilers though in the review:

I believe this old series is being replayed on tv every Saturday morning too on DirectTV's Jade channel.

I wonder if Jessica would be as great as Chan Mun Yee. Chan Mun Yee was awesome as Fan Lei Fa in General Father, General Son.

Jessica might be better then Chan Mun Yee but then again she might not be. I guess it's going to be different for everyone. As for me I've never seen the other version so Jessica's version will always be the best version. and thats including the fact that she's my favourite actress.

I downloaded the TVB presentation on Fan Lei Fa and there was a scene where they showed two ring that match each other (fitted in like a jigsaw peice) I was wondering if anyone knows the significance of these rings?

I actually can't wait to see Jessica in this series, but then again I'm her fan. As for Joe Ma I don't really care.

I can see your a Felix fan, I use to like him a lot too especially from ROCH (i've seen the series about 17 times) but I've haven't seen his version of this series.

I sort of watched most of the old series of this one, but forgot a lot of them. I doubt Joe Ma acts better than him.

Yes, it is. Only this time TVB made it clear that they focus on Fan Lei Fa coz in General Father, General Son the one who really steals the show (IMO and a lot of others) is Chan Mun Yee's role as Fan.

Well I don't particulary care about Joe Ma, It's Jessica who I'm looking forward to watching. I can't wait.

Sak Sau revealed in an interview that his character constantly dreams about being covertly killed by his own son. Wonder how that would go.

That brief summary was a translation from a site that remade a Taiwanese version of Fan Lei Fan so we can all lay off whether she will disguise herself as a guy or not because it's not based on TVB's version. The producer suggest that we all treat this version as a bland new story to lessen the confusion.

That's what happened in the old one too. His father accidently mistaken his son as a tiger and shot him down the river. Sik Ding San also had the same illusion, except this time a life is really lost.

I hope, I wish & I pray that the series will come out in the U.S. soon as there is really no good ancient series, beside VOH, worth watching at the moment.

I agreed that we all should give the series with the actors/actresses a chance instead of comparing it to the old series. Joe Ma had proved himself as a good actor in several series so I look forward to his performance.

I'm hoping I'll be able to watch it this week too but I'm going to be so busy I don't know if I can make it down to the video store. So i'm looking at next week....Noooooo it's to long. This is pure torture. I can't wait to see Jessica in action.
