Yeah, I agree, I like XXN's sister, Shu Fei. She's so mature and competent. I don't know her real name, but she comes out in Shao NIan Ying Xiong FAng Shi Yu (staring Dicky Cheung) for a few eps (in the middle/end) as a bad person...

I didn't really like Yumiko's character, b/c she seemed very useless to me...

Xiao Xian Nu, after all, is the best character in here anyway.

thers a lot difference between the story and the series. also, su ying in the story was supposed to be a really pretty n smart girl, i tink the actress isnt that pretty as the translation describes. i havent finished reading the translation but xxn is supposed to be always quareling with xye right? somehow dun reali like txl's hairdo and outfits.. but this versio is better than alec n jimmy version, even the gals r prettier (the oni gal pretty there was murong jiu i believe). in alec n jimmy version i was oni rooting for murong jiu and the black spider.

haha, the actress who played mu rong jiu isn't that pretty in real life. (just watch Liang Zhu, staring Nicky Wu and Charlie Yeung. Mu Rong Jiu in there plays the servant girl). but even so, i still liked jiu's atmosphere. my favorite character, in both versions, is xiao xian nu. (I suppose you can say they're the same person, though in jimmy's version, she's actually zhang jing, while in dicky's version, she's a combination of zhang jing and mu rong jiu.)

haha, honestly i didn't like this couple--reminded me of another romeo/juliet tragedy/emo story.

of course, xye/xxn was quite tragic, but their entire atmosphere had a feeling of warmth, cuteness and fun, whereas nic/bingbing seemed tragic all the way through.

Even though you can say XYE fell in love w/ Su Ying, the impression I got was that he truly loved only Xiao xian nu. His relationship w/SY, first of all, was remarkedly different from that with xiao xian nu. It's more...supressed and less passionate--very unlike Xiao Yu Er. You have to understand that after Xiao xian Nu's death, xiao Yu er basically went through emotional and physical breakdown (suicidal, etc)--his whole personality even changed from an outgoing, playful and carefree person to a very depressed and inward moper. That's really a big change that I didn't see with Sy's death. Also, with XXN, XYE spent a LOT more time than he did with SY. His scenes w/SY were basically her understanding him, her helping him, etc, but he never really LIVED/EXPERIENCED with her as he did w/XXN. Thus, his relationship w/SY was one of mere acceptance than one of him going after her. Compared to when he met XXN (going after her, even knowing that their classes didn't match, etc)--was a lot more proactive.

My point is that Xiao Yu Er's true love is only Xiao Xian Nu, that he never loved sU Ying as he did XXN. After her death, XYE had to move on (it's different for Nic b/c he had a son), and it just happened to be SY. I'm pretty sure if it were another girl (take Yumiko, for example), who is just as compromising and caring as SY, he would have "loved" her too.
