DAMO w/ English subtitles!!!

Hello, I just wanted to let everyone know that I saw Damo available with English subtitles at YesAsia.com. I bought a few movies there, so I know they are a real company.

I am so happy to finally see and understand this great K-drama.

Personally I think Damo is one of the best Korean dramas I ever watched (and I watch A LOT of k-drams btw.. ). After watching I became a huge fan of Ha Ji-won, the lead actress in Damo.

I've been waiting quite some time for the English-subs DVD release of Damo.. going to go buy it later... All I have right now is the crappy Chinese dubbed VCD version..

The copy they are selling in yesasia can only be shipped to American continent - same goes with their Attic Cat.

I have heard only good things about Damo and would love to watch it but not living in American continent so I'll have to wait for another legit subtitled copy to come out.

I am a huge fan of Ha Ji Won. She is so beautiful...like a Korean Phoebe Cates but much prettier. This is not a glamorous role for her, right? The photos I have seen of her from Damo leads me to think this. I would like to hear more about her role though if someone wouldn't mind telling me. Thanks!

Damo is one of my fav kdrama, I personally think that it is outstandng!

The story is set in feudal Chosan dynasty, and HJW plays a Damo - a female detective sort of a role in a polica station. She is of slave rank and has aspirations and a yearning for freedom beyond her class and times. She shares a complex yet close relationship with her young master Hwangbo Yoon.

Her life is forever altered when she went undercover to infiltrate a group of bandits to uncover a counterfeit coin case, and meets the bandit leader Jang Sung Baek. She falls for JSB, with dire consequences....

Maybe you'll like to read my review to get some background abt the story......but spoilers may be included, so don't read if you don't want to know too much...

I didn't like Ha Ji-won much before DAmo.. the only other show I saw her in was Life is Beautiful w/ Kim Rae-won. But now I'm one of her biggest fans after Damo.

So who here has already bought the new DVDs w/ English subs?

The fighting scenes are "Coaching Tiger hidden dragon" style....14 episodes.

The fights scenes are plain.......I saw this when it was on TV in April I think.

I think only the opening fight scene was ok.........you can watch like 5 episodes in a row with hardly any fight scenes.

For a Korean Drama it is rare to actually see wirework but if your antcipating it to be likea chinese Wuxia you will be dissapointed.

Did anybody see Ha Ji Won in the movies "Reversal of Fortune" (also starring the character Tai-Jun from Hotelier...sorry don't know the actors name) or "The Ghost"? Both are recommended.

I watched Damo a few months ago. To date, after watching many shows and dramas, it is still my favorite. It has all the great elements of a story Many other dramas always have a sick dying person or there is just too much talk I love the plot, the acting, the swordfighting and the music. I dont think any other show/drama will ever top Damo :P If you are looking for an martial arts show, this is NOT one, go watch a short movie instead

I'm currently watching this series. It's really good. I love the characters, story, and music. Too bad the ending is going to be a sad one, though.

That's definitely the way to go if you don't understand Korean. Crappy Chinese dubbing really takes away from this beautiful series. I have 5 more episodes to go, so I should probably start to have the kleenex handy...
