Yup, from what I heard on many different websites, they're sisters.

But it's odd that their names don't follow the traditional pattern. Unless their family just doesn't follow it or something happened.

    Amy is Chan Sau Man
    Charine is Chan Ka-Ling

Usually in Chinese tradition, they would have the same middle name to show their rank in the family is the same by following a Chinese poem.

Anyhow in comparison... I believe Amy is much more prettier and has much more charisma. However Charine is pretty too. Maybe because I am more exposed to Amy, or because Amy's one of my favorite actresses, I think Amy stands out a lot more. *haha*

Also I believe Amy is a much better actress, too. I mean even back in the early 90's when they were both dominant on the film and tv screen, I was much more capitivated by Amy's acting than Charine.

Anyhow, Charine doesn't make films anymore right? I haven't seen her in one for ages.

Oh and I recently watched Taiwan's "A Chinese Ghost story" just because I found out Amy was in it. The whole series almost had me chocking it for the stupid main characters, Daniel Chan and Barbie Hsu plays. Luckily Amy's guest starring character saved the series for me. And the actress who played her son (Liu-Yun)was my all-time favorite character in that series. I don't know his name though. But he kinda reminded me of the way Dicky Cheung likes to portray his characters. Funny but serious, goofy and lovable. useless but useful. *haha*

Okay enough nonsense. I need sleep. It's freakin almost 4 am here in america.

Her story was the ONLY highlight of A Chinese Ghost Story: Eternity, IMO. I thought the series was rather boring. But the story of Lanma was really touching and bittersweet. I enjoyed the story alot! I cried when her end came. I was torn!

She is 45! She started acting when she was like 15 or 16 years old (I think).

She rarely acts tough, other than her EARLIER series. Her earlier series were very very famous! She seldom acts now, because she is more focused on her family life and she tends to be more distracted with her music career.

I guess the right scripts never comes by!

ATV is where she met her real life husband.

After her seperation she went to TVB and starred in the series where she got her famous nickname See Lai - Housewife.

My aunt use to live in the same building with her and she is around 45/46. (which is why I know her age)
Lam Kwok became a MONK?? *jaw drop* WOW, how weird??

Hehe, I did not know about her and Sheren Tang being so close friends!!! Thats awsome, hehe. They must have had a lot to chit chat about during ACGS then!!!

How is Love in a Miracle? Is this like the 2 or 3 serie that she stars with Steve Ma in? I remember another serie where they paired togehter. My mom watched the serei and really liked it. Me, no remember, lol.
The Good Old Days was the other series where she stars with Steven Ma. Its funni, because they looked so well together and seem like they had great chemistry, but they had a very well-known despute during the filming. HAHAHA. Isnt that funny. They also starred in the series Fated Love together. Another good one!

It wasnt until the filming of Love in a Miracle that Steven and Amy made up.

amy chan sand many classic songs during the concert. when asked of she will open her own concert, she replied that she have not have the idea n the plan yet, wait till she decides to retire, she will hold a concert to fulfil the fans wish

*the first paragrah is about the same... talking about who sang in the concert and who is the special guest and blah =)*
will start on the 2nd para...

amy sang many songs during the concert, she is also the most popular singer. although there rumours about the poor sale of the tickets, 90% of the seats were occupied. when amy came out and did a small intriduction, she accidentally said a TVB show (fate of dunno-wat) but she amended the problem by saying another show (the good old days). she said she felt a bit embarassed about it and laughed =)
Hey jparadize, can you give me links to where I can buy Amy CDs. I've been trying to find as much as I can, but I can only find 4 in yesasia.com

    Thanks.

    And can someone confirm?

    - She divorced Lam Kwok (??) right??
    - If she is divorced to Kwok, is she remarried??
    - What has she been up to?
    - Why isn't Turbalent Years OUT YET? Seems like an amazing series, dont u think? lolz.. The screencaps looks GREAT!

sensasian looks too run down. haha it takes a long time to load too. i dun like that place. i prefer yesasia. =)
    hahaha..

yesasia.com is better than sensasia.com because senasia.com takes decades to load.. hahahaha.. and their products takes almost 3 times longer to ship than yesasia.com

I ordered 2 movies from sensasia.com and it nearly took a month and a half to come. It was IN STOCK!

If anyone has seen her lastest series (something about the Yang family, I forgot the title) can you tell me if its good and worth watching? I am about to go by it, but wondering if its good. If its not that great, I'll wait until it dubbed into viet and watch it than, instead of buying it with english subtitles.

-Amy has 1 son - the one and only son.
-no. she is not divorced. (well, the reporters still asked about her husband when she was preparing for the HKATV 50th anniversary concert.)
-she is not divorced so she didn't remarry.
-slacking. the 2 new shows that are supposed to be film haven't started. one of them was even canceled. so wat do u think? haha (her MOST recent show is the yang warriors. did u catch that show?)
-the turbulent years was sensored. china says that the show is TOO VIOLENT and have to cut off the scenes but in the end they decided to prohibit the show to be broadcast instead. (well, it's the first time i see amy slap ppl. i quite look forward tho but....)

the reason why sensasia is so slow cos.... it is at malaysia. yesasia is at hongkong. and hk is so much nearer to USA as compared to m'sia.
wahaha... u can be rest assured to buy the yang warriors. IT IS A GREAT SHOW!

the middle character is given by the ancestor.... the ancestors decide the middle name (sometimes the last character) for each generation... maybe her ancestor did not state the name for her generation. btw, it's not compulsory to follow. wat matters is whether the name is suitable for the child.
