And yeah, the picture quality is kinda corny, I cant find my camera, so I had to use my phone's camera :P So yeah, dont mind the poor quality of the photo either. I am a cheap person, dont have the money to buy the newest phones. HAHA, technology is changing too often

Linh, i was wondering whether u remembered in the young warriors when amy was talking to peter. I think it was after da poisoning of da small village. Amy had already saved da day & she was with her husband & sons. Da scene was a night scene & peter was playing dat wooden musical instrument (i don't know wat's it call), anyway, amy came upon him & asked him how he knew da song he was playing. She told him dat piece was composed by her & his teacher. U remember dis scene?? Well peter asked her wat was da relationship between her & his teacher. Amy answered him & at da end she smiled dat really nice smile. I really like dat smiled of hers. I wish i can capture dat smile. I always remember dat smile, i don't know how to explain it but dat smile is so cute.

But wait, on the wine bottle its only like one character, isnt it? The video isnt too clear so I couldnt tell!

And for the 2nd one.. When she (Amy) wrote "I Understand" on the pole, I believe it was just this part (明 白) I dont remember seeing this character (我)!

HEHE, now I get to practice more words. :P now to learn how to say it too... HAHA, I actually learnt how to say "I Understand" when Steven read the words in his mind after Amy wrote it, because you can actually see the words on the subtitles too, it matched the pole, so I used whats left of my common sense and repeated it. But what Steven wrote to Amy was a bit long, and I dont recall her repeating what he wrote, or maybe he did but... The video is all in Chinese, I wouldnt be able to catch up to all those... :P

I mean, not the same exact one, but one that shows only Amy. I want to get a better view of her outfit. I am trying to sketch this one, but I cant make heads or tails of her outfit, as the photo is in black and white. To me, everything looks so dark, its impossible to give a good detailed look to her outfit. :P

I have to finish the LIAM one after this, because I cannot get the full details of her skin tone color and there are still a number of spelling corrections to make. And I am still learning how to make the colors blend without a big noticable difference.

I am doing the sketch of the photo above, as I love the classic B&W finish. As it'll make it easier for me to sketch, because everything is already in B&W therefore I dont have to think until my brain rots, at where to darken things and where not to. Its already shown. HAHA, me lazy!

I am doing this picture, because its so cheerful. I've realized after talking to my sister this morning that my sketches are all melancholy and depressing, haha. I'll do a cheerful one for once, make myself look less like a suicidal (cuz my sis swears my art makes ppl depress !)

But:

1) I am done with the Amy and Steven sketch from the Black and White pic I posted up a few hours ago... But now I want to title the picture. And since the pic look so classic already, I didnt want to use their english names for the sketch title, therefore I plan to use their Chinese names. Already knowing Amy's is (陳秀雯) I want to know what Steven's Chinese name is: I found 2 different ones, like Amy's, (馬景濤 and 马景涛)

2) Since I am using this version of Amy's name (陳秀雯) which version of Steven's (if any) should I use to make the title look right, I dont want to use tradational spelling for one and simplified for the other. So can you tell me which is the correct one to correspond with Amy's name?

the first one 馬景濤 is traditional chinese. the other is simplified chinese. so u should use the first one to match with the version of amy chan u wrote. =)

Yes, travelling nowadays is so expensive. Though singapore is just a border away, it can cost a lot of money to go there. There r exchange rate to consider about. If there was no exchange rate to think about then i think there'll be lots more of malaysian crossing da border I think my friends will be da first to cross it & u will find them going there a couple of times a year

haha actually i feel like gg to m'sia to look for amy's stuff since the currencies... u noe wat i mean. it's like half priced. haha i feel like gg to the main store that senasian has and sweep everything there home. but i think the currencies isn't that off to keep u away from singapore. i mean u still can find cheap stuff over here IF u noe whr to get it. hehe

I'll buy it immediately if i can find it at da stores but if i cannot then i'll hav to order it. i think i'm the worst cos i pay for EVERYTHING thing i want, not my mum. only those i need are sponsered by my mum. unless it's my birthday coming or smth then i can request for a CD or drama serial. =(

I know wat u mean, amy is not da super thin actresses u see nowadays but she still manage to pull it off wearing a cheongsam. I'm also really impressed. Actually she is not dat 'big', to me it's bcoz she is small in height & dat makes her look fleshy. I cannot believe she was 35 when she filmed TGOD. I thought she was younger then dat coz of da beginning where she played da younger sau hau. Wow, she's fantastic isn't she?? She can act so innocent & young. I can imagine her change to da more mature sau hau. I'm really impressed with her acting. She should be given more credit then she deserve.

haha that show won her LOTS of award and money. she's actually not short... she's 162cm tall. eh... it's considered quite tall in singapore (i'm only 156cm.) haha

Wat u said is absolutely true. To learn to speak mandarin or cantonese is 100x easier then to learn to write it. Writing chinese is a killer. At least nowadays, they hav da simplified chinese characters. Fr wat i heard, dat's so much easier to write & learn then da non simplified chinese. Da only sad thing is dat once people learn to write simplified chinese, in few a years da non simplified chinese writing will be obsolete. Sad huh??

it's so sad to know that even chinese hate to learn mandarin and chinese culture. traditional chinese characters are very nice and it possess the charm in them. they have their meaning for each characters' existance.. but now, ppl go for quick and easy. they forgot about the nice traditional characters.... so sad.

It's not just da singaporeans, we malaysian also do dat. Worst still when we speak malay we end da sentence with an english word. Really annoying I guess it's bcoz we hav so many different race & therefore we mix & match. Sometimes i add tamil when i speak, not a lot though

Now dat u mentioned it, u r most right. It's da intonation dat differs fr country to country. So i presume da chinese spoken in china would be much harder to understand then let's say in singapore or taiwan???

wahaha i have a malay tone. my mum always complain about me being very malay. but my chinese tcher thinks i'm from china cos i have a very chinese tone when i speak proper chinese.

yea. i think it's the tone that we use. it's more hard to understand china's chinese because they twist their tongue alot. haha

Don't they sign using chinese characters?? I've met a few people dat sign their name using chinese characters & it looks like a normal signature to me until they told me it's actually chinese characters.

i sign off using my traditional chinese name too. like amy. but them again ppl at her age learnt traditional chinese and not simplified one.

Yes, amy is pretty innocent in da beginning of TGOD. I'm not used to seeing her so 'young'. I guess i've watched too much of the Young Warriors so i've not gotten used to see her being so 'young' Still i'm enjoying dis series. I'm waiting for her character to mature & for da story to get more interesting. I cannot believe everyone in da series is so young. Sheren Tang is so young here. It's just pretty weird to see everybody so young.

I don't think u hav uncivillized laws & customs in America. Is just dat u guys r more opened then most of us. To me being open is good, a lot of us hav dis problem in asian countries. We r not very open so it's pretty hard for us to express ourselves. Dat's why u don't see us doing a lot of debates in uni. We hav problems when we reach to uni level coz a lot of our students r pretty quiet & when we study overseas we hav some problem adapting. But luckily students r now slowly pushed to become more open.

I cant blame you! After watching the character of the very matured and motherly She Sai Hua, its hard to adjust to the younger and more reserved Tse Sau Hau! Its a big change! Its like 2 opposites! But watching Tse Sau Hau mature is so pleasureful and you may learn many from her! ^_^

But the TVB series I bought, I bought bc a friend told me to, she recommanded it. 2 of them has Kwong Wah, the others are just random ones. Honestly I dont even know the title if you asked me. HAHA, my friend added it to my shopping cart and all I did was checkout. ^_^ I wasnt really interested in watching it, but I figure lets just keep myself BZ! TVB serie now-a-days is kinda boring, so my interest is gone!

Asians are friendly IMO, but only to neighbors and ppl in the area. We tend to look ppl oddly when we see outsiders... Its like we're staring at aliens! HAHA. Yeah, those who goes overseas are very shy, I've met some of them, and they can be sweet, but extremely SHY!

Yes, i still watch tvb series. If i don't then i wouldn't hav much to watch. I rather watch tvb series then atv. I don't know why but atv series looks funny. Well i hav da same problem with u, nowadawys i don't even finish da series i started. It's pretty sad coz it shows how tvb deteriorating. They hav da money to do good series but sadly da script writers or producers r just doing their job. Or maybe they r just hiring useless people. I think some of da current actors & actresses r ok (we can't compare them to da older batches), it's just dat da storyline is not interesting enough. Well i don't deny dat tvb hav some really bad actors too & i don't understand why they still promote them.

Well we can't do much bout it. Only thing we can do is dat if we like da series we continue watching, if not we just stop. Just like wat we r doing now

HAHA, the reason I watch ATV is b/c of Amy and a small handful of watchable ppl. Otherwise ATV makes very crappy modern series. But their Pre-Modern series (1900s-wartime) are excellent (LIAM, TGOD, FL, etc) all excellent! They definitely do a better job with those genre of series compared to TVB.

But yes, TV is getting really low lately, deteriorating like crazy! Its a big slump! But I hope it gets better, otherwise, I'll be so bored. HAHA, I dont want to know what I'll do when I get too bored!

She isnt super thin, of course not! She was labeled as the "housewife actress" wasnt she? HAHA, after TFOTC she was the "fat auntie" wasnt she? HAHA, she wasnt even really thick in TFOTC, its the clothing was extra padded. HAHA! She was great as the traditional and clueless housewife, so cute!

Yeah, Amy is a bit thicker, and I like it that way. She's healthier than so much actresses out there who straves themselves. Its really sad! She does look great in the dress! She is a bit shorter, therefore it makes her look a bit wider too, but short is cute! At least, thats my excuse! HAHA

Yeah, TGOD was broadcasted in 1996 and Young Warriors in 2006 (10 years difference - she's 46 now, so yeah, with a decade of years b/w - she still pulls off both the old and young look!) I mean its ez to make yourself look older, but for a women in her 30s, she pulls of the 20-something year old look extremely well!

HAHA, as a fan of course we want her to have more credits, but hey, the world is unfair, we know! At least we can appreciate it. That's as much as we can do in our part!

I agree dat i am fr a reserved country though i'm not sure whether dat's a good thing or not. I think being exposed to people & other things is a good thing. Being too reserved is not a very good thing. I rather be expressive like u. If people don't know me they find me shy I don't express myself & a lot of my friends don't do dat either. Luckily we can come to forums like these & learn to express ourselves. U can see da difference in our conservation here. U express urself very well, where as i don't speak out wat i really want to. It's bcoz of da upbringing I think a little of both reserve & exposure is da perfect solution
