Profile

Edmund Chen first made his foray into the acting scene in 1986, captivating audiences with his debut performance as the lead actor in Sunshine After The Rain. With his rogueish good looks, he was soon propelled to the top of his league and has starred in more than 40 television drama serials and telemovies. Most of his roles involve that of professionals like doctors, lawyers, CEOs, pathologists etc.

Being a versatile individual, his next venture was naturally into the music industry. To date, Edmund has 4 albums to his name. Effectively bilingual, Edmund also hosted various programmes ranging from documentaries, magazines to special variety shows. Sporting a healthy and athletic image, he was the natural choice to front the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta for MediaCorp.

Edmund made his big leap onto the silver screen in Yellow Wedding, a Canadian art house film that made its world premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival in 1998. Now he has 5 feature films to his credit. Diversifying his acting capabilities, Edmund also ventured into the theatrical arena with his stage debut in Private Parts in 1999.

Edmund's star appeal has stood the test of time and has proven himself to be an all round performer. Exuding poise and confidence, Edmund is an illustrious example of a star with an evergreen quality capable of handling the most diversified of roles and challenges.

Terence Cao was a flight steward before joining the then Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) in 1989 after completing the SBC 9th Professional Drama Performers' Training Course. After two supporting roles in Sweet Dreams and Imperial Intrigue, Terence obtained his big break in Fatal Endearment where he portrayed a rich man's son caught in a love triangle. Being the male lead of numerous drama serials, Terence has proved himself to be a diligent actor who is very keen in taking up diverse roles.

In 1995, Terence became the first full-time artiste to successfully hold his debut mini concert in Canto Pub. His singing talent was further justified as he sang the theme song for Triad Justice, a serial where he played a major role. His latest singing vehicle is that of a duet with actress Cynthia Koh for MediaCorp Music's compilation album in 2002.

In the telemovie Deep In The Night, Terence was cast opposite Hong Kong actress Loletta Lee. With the filming done in Hong Kong, this project has given Terence immense exposure and experience working with Hong Kong artistes and production crew. In 2002, he teams up with Hong Kong ATV station in a 30-part courtroom drama Innocently Guilty, holding court with regional stars like Anita Yuen, Kent Cheng and Wong Yat Wah.

Ping Hui was talent scouted by a producer while working as a general manager in an international franchise. His first drama series On The Edge - Mr Personality in 1998 captured the audience's attention and it catapulted him to major roles.

His most unforgettable role to date, is that of a gang leader who turned over a new leaf after becoming a handicap in the midst of a gang fight, in Stepping Out. The same role earned him the Best Supporting Actor in Star Awards '99, an annual award ceremony for TV personalities. A year later, he was invited by Hong Kong director Jingle Ma to make a guest appearance opposite Asian superstar, Sammi Cheng in the movie Summer Holidays.

Ping Hui has achieved what many have not in the short span of a few years in entertainment. His first venture into the English entertainment market kicked off as being the male lead in a local English drama, A War Diary. Ping Hui further displayed his versatility by acting in a stage production with acclaimed Hong Kong stage producer, Ko Chi Sum, in Butterflies Are Free, in the year 2001.

Playing the lead in the Chinese drama blockbuster, The Reunion, Ping Hui's performance played a huge part in the drama's resounding success. Through recording various compilation albums and singing the lead songs for drama serials such as As You Like It, Ping Hui has proven his singing aptitude and is definitely one of the most promising figures in the entertainment industry.
