Edmund Chen first made his foray into the acting scene in 1986, captivating audiences with his debut performance as the lead actor in Sunshine After The Rain. With his rogueish good looks, he was soon propelled to the top of his league and has starred in more than 40 television drama serials and telemovies. Most of his roles involve that of professionals like doctors, lawyers, CEOs, pathologists etc.
Being a versatile individual, his next venture was naturally into the music industry. To date, Edmund has 4 albums to his name. Effectively bilingual, Edmund also hosted various programmes ranging from documentaries, magazines to special variety shows. Sporting a healthy and athletic image, he was the natural choice to front the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta for MediaCorp.
Edmund made his big leap onto the silver screen in Yellow Wedding, a Canadian art house film that made its world premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival in 1998. Now he has 5 feature films to his credit. Diversifying his acting capabilities, Edmund also ventured into the theatrical arena with his stage debut in Private Parts in 1999.
Edmund's star appeal has stood the test of time and has proven himself to be an all round performer. Exuding poise and confidence, Edmund is an illustrious example of a star with an evergreen quality capable of handling the most diversified of roles and challenges.
