I love LBB's role as the fox spirit in LT...especially at the beginning. THe scene when she was laying down in that meadow/field and eating those bun cakes, it was sooo innocent looking! I hated it when JL turned into the baddie tho, I just wanna punch him in the face when he had that arrogant look!

The Legend of Shang Yang? What was LBB's role in it?
I'll definitely convert it soon, since school starts in a week and a half, I'd upload it onto Veoh within the next 3 days. Maybe tonight, I'll just let it sit. I'll notify you when I get it up! ^_^ Its a great movie, but you'd hate the end, but the chemistry is just purely amazing, between Chen Kun and LBB!

LBB is su fairylike as the fox spirit! HAHA, when isnt she though? She looks like a fairy in literally every ancient series she's in. HAHA, so innocent, but she can be so good as a cold-hearted assassin too (in Silver Hawk).

In The Legend of Shang Yang, LBB portrays a queen or something like that. I read the review over a year ago and cant remember exactly, but she looks so intimidating in there. HAHA

THe whole time I was watching it, I was wondering what it would've been like if Chen Kun was given the main male lead role (this was before I saw Eight Heroes w/ her and LY! lol)

On a side note, we're definately moving this thread along, haha
LOLZ, didnt I mention I was addicted? HAHA, sadly though, I dont watch too much drama now. ^_^ NO TIME! I only rewatch series I know I love! HAHA!

I know a few Chinese words, but I'm 100% Viet, I'll be taking Chinese on my Spring Term of college (yes, I'm in college!). But the dubbing in Tuyet Minh isnt too bad, I know, and you are right. The Chinese in the background aid you in the emotions. Which is great. I lvoe watching series in Chinese, that's why I get those that I can with Eng sub, like Young Warriors.

LBB's series gerenally doesnt have Eng sub, and I HATE THAT!

CHEN KUN, as the lead of what? I honestly think his acting is a bit weak. He can pull off a movie that is 1 and a half hours long, but to pull off an entire series, he's acting is still not up to scale. That's just my opinion and I appoliogies if it may be offensive! But he does look good with LBB, but who doesnt?

I was thinking of CK as the lead actor in "Another Lifetime of Fate"
His acting was a little wooden in Sword of Outlaws, but I think he improved a whole lot in "The Conquest"....but to be honest with you, I think "Sword of Outlaw" was a big blur....I skipped so much in that series, I don't even think I grasp the storyline at all, I mainly watched it for LBB and CK's scenes.

Some things I noticed with LBB's series:

She's always getting married- In all the series I've watched, she wears the traditional marriage clothes in almost all of them!

She's always dying at the end- Yup, I hate it.

In Blue Lotus, wasn't Lu Yi paird with his real-life girlfriend (now wife)?

Chen Kun's acting is very wooden in SOO, but its ok! I think he's better off with MOVIES rather than SERIES. I havent seen any of his other series, other than one a few years ago with Ruby! ^_^

And SOO, haha, I fast forwarded A LOT too. I did watch it only for LBB and CK, but I did sit through the entire series with my friend the second time around. LBB was the highlight of the series, I love her character, so BRILLIANT!

And yes, LBB's series does have a formula, which generally ends with HER DEATH. :P I dunno why they like to kill her off so much. HAHA, she generally either DIES or ends up ALONE. HMMMMM! Anything fishy? ^_^ The only series I recall her ending happily is "Smart Kid," "Romancing HK," "Another Lifetime of Fate," and hmmm, that's it I think. WOW, even in her movies the formula still remains.

And yeah, you're right about Blue Lotus!

WHOAAA! The conversation we've had has gotten long enough. I'm gonna head on out, need to do a few things. Afterwards I'll convert "The Knot" and upload it onto Veoh, tonight. It should be up by 2/3 am, if I dont get lazy. HAHA, its almost 12 here! ^_^

Anyways, it was nice talking to you Chic. ^_^ Love to share all those info with you about both LBB and Amy. HEHE, its nice that we adore the same actresses. :P

I'll message you or watever when I get the Knot up. Until then, best of wishes!

Yup, I saw this, but I didn't know what the heck was being said! haha, I love her giggling when the love scene was mentioned!
However, I have to say that she looks a lot more rested compared to her other recent pics where she looks so tired. While filming "Linger," she looked sooooo skinny (probably due to filming of "Forbidden Kingdom" prior).

Haha, it's always great to talk with 'enthusists" of the same topic! You don't have to convert it in such a hurry, I'm in no hurry! lol Lots of thanks for taking the time out to do it! It'll be the first LBB movie that I'll get to see.

I love LBB's image here, very fresh...The chemistry between them is apparant too.
It was funny how in the interview, both LBB and Vic talked about the first scene being shot when they started filming was the love scene! They were both flustered and didn't know what to think! I think it takes a lot of professionalism for both to be able to carry out such a scene on the first day of shooting.

LBB and Vic does look great together. If they look this steaming on the photoshot, they must be RED HOTT during filming. I cannot wait to see it! THANKS!

I love all the scenes you mentioned...

    1) At the first meeting, when he rescued her from the boat wreck, the instaneous attraction the two felt for each other was evident in the way they stared at each other, and if you watch closely, the scene where the sun was setting, showing the two couples standing there and watching the boat sink, you can still see LY having his arms around LBB waist!

    2) When LBB said he'll have to be by her side from now on if she doesn't regain her eyesight, he had this huge smile on his face when she said that- Yes, the dude has already fallen in luvvv!

    3) At the nun's place, when LY was drinking alone, and LBB came up and said that with wine and a friend, sorrows can be dissipated, the way that they look at each other at this scene....

    4) When they were crossing that bridge during the 4 wealthiest people case, you can tell that they have soooo much to say to each other, but each didn't know how to say it, because there was so many misunderstandings between them..you can totally sense the longing between them....with each one turning around and looking at the other walking away.

    5) In the kitchen, when LBB caught the pan on fire when she tried to cook, and LY came running in really fast when he heard her yelling.... and when LBB said "I'm sorry, there won't be any dinner for you tonight" and he said "It's okay, it's the thought that counts".... the look they give each other afterward And it was quite funny how LY kinda took over the task of cooking!

I think what was so attractive about their relationship was how LY's character was so cold, and yet after meeting LBB's character, he had such tenderness and caring for her, that his personality completely changed. It was unconditional love, full of sacrafices for each other.

Seriously tho, if not for the chemistry between them two, this series wouldn't appeal to me so much.

This may be really wierd, but it was in this series that I noticed how LBB got such pretty, perfect teeth! I think it was at the scene where LY's master dropped his teacup, and LBB kneeled down to catch it and smiled up at him.
And needless to say, her eyes are always so pretty...especially when have her whole face covered up, you can tell how pretty her eyes are.
I love the purple and orange-looking outfits at the end...they're so playful!
Like Pooh, I like all the scenes that you mentioned, esp the episodes during the Four Wealthiest People and after they were married, esp how LBB could differentiate Ping Chang from his evil brother and also, her first meeting with Ping Chang's mentor.

Somehow, I didn't watch the first scene that they met and her being blind except from flashback. Missed a couple episodes in the beginning.

I think from the characters I saw LBB chose, the only one that didn't appeal to me was Princess Anle in Da Ming Gong Ci, the show which catapulted Zhou Xun to fame. Princess Anle was so spiteful and just annoying, but LBB carried the role well.

The complete devotion developed within the 1 and a half hour movie between LBB and Chen Kun was so believable and beautiful! I totally adore LBB's character in here. To be honest, I thought Vivian's devotion to Chen Kun was heeartwrenching, but it was a bit boring at some points. ^_^ Maybe its because I never thought they had chemistry, but maybe its me being biased again. LOLZ, but I really enjoyed it! I actually have 3 copies of the movie at home. ^_^ 2 DVDs and 1 VCD, haha!

Warlords does have a lot of public notice, which brings expectations up too high. And when the movie fail to met our expectation, the good script, can be seen as NOT GOOD, because we let the expectation take the lead. ^_^ That's why I try not to let the publicity get to me.

IMO, ZZY and LBB both sport the innocent and frenzy look that many Americans love, but ZZY takes the lead because she has the determination to outshine the other female Asian actresses who've stepped onto the Hollywood Hills. Though LBB has more talents and is indeed prettier than ZZY, Americans LOVE ppl with ambition, and I fear LBB doesnt have enough of that.
Hey Linh-e-Pooh, thanks for always responding to my posts. Now, I usually visit SPCNET once in a few days, so would be a bit slow in replying.

I was actually quite surprised that LBB caught so many people's eyes in The Knots and won Best Actress when I read about this movie, because the first impression is that she is the second leading lady, and the movie was meant to promote Vivian Hsu. But seemed like LBB stole the limelight again.

The movie is not available in Singapore yet, and I don't want to watch it online as I want to watch a good resolution one. i saw the trailer on youtube, and what is very interesting was the slap that Chen Kun gave her when she was injured or something. So funny! It must be great owning 2 DVDs and 1 VCD! You must have loved the show TONS!!

I don't really think ZZY has that innocent look, at least not to us Asians. I think she has that fragile and innocent look only in front of Westerners due to her English-handicap in the past. Usually, when i see her in photoshoots or movies, she has this ambitious, determined, confident, must-be-stronger-than-others look which i don't really like. I like actors and actresses who are strong, amazing yet humble and kind on the inside.

If LBB is as ambitious and materialistic as ZZY, then I guess I wouldn't be able to like her at all. Even someone as materialistic like FBB, I find difficult to like even though she's pretty.

Unlike her fellow actress FBB, there's something real and humble about LBB which makes her more respectable, loving and charming. LBB's rise to fame has been tough but a much more honest journey to stardom, yet FBB's road to fame remains controversal, some even shameful.

In terms of look, I prefer LBB over ZZY and also FBB. ZZY is indeed beautiful, but there's nothing unique about her look. FBB of course is nothing but plastics, and if not she's all about the thick makeup, fake eyelashes, fake wigs, spandex, and digitally fixing her pictures to look thinner.

I wish her more success and luck in 2008, and I hope to see more of her on the big screen.
First of all, welcome to the forum DEGE999 and I wish you a happy 2008.

I really like your post and what you like about LBB because they're all so spot on and true. You managed to highlight her qualities and attractions in a nutshell and in a language which is captivating to read.

I like LBB too because of the wide-range of personalities and looks she had in different photoshoots. She had a certain feel and she could project something very real, earthy and stylish combined into one in a single look and also her fashion sense is amazing. She can also look classic, avant-garde or haute couture with different clothes and there's always something more beneath the surface that keeps you staring at her photo, wondering about the feel she is trying to project and it's all up to your own interpretation.

I don't really think FBB has plastic surgery since I heard someone on her thread said she went for medical tests to prove she's all real. She probably just lost weight?? I don't like FBB's photoshoots as much as they had a fake or futuristic Sailor Moon feel, but i think she's a very pretty girl and her acting skills had improved a lot in recent years.

I really like her White-Haired Maiden look. Very formidable, captivating and unique. Just having her in the show is worth watching!

And a few more recent ones:

With FBB at an award dinner

It's good to see both of them talking to each other, reminding us that they are in fact good friends. The make-up makes them look a bit alike, like sisters.

    At an award show:

I like her dress in here. Very chic and sophisticated, with a slight masculine feel with the collar and straight lined cut.

And for some reason, she was teary:
Lovely pic here and I like the scarf she's wearing. She's wearing such unique dresses now. It seemed all the dresses she wear is like 100% fantastic these days. Unlike some actresses who look bad once in a while, she's 100% watchable.

Wow, she's the only one that gets to sit during the ceremony...guess that meant she's the most important one there! haha

And these are from the promotional event of B★9JOJO on 12/27:

As always, very chic and tastefully dressed. She looks very radiant, and much rested compared to earlier promotional events. I love her lonnnggg legs!
And...she loves those earrings man! She had worn them in almost every picture of her I saw recently.

I think it was at the scene where LBB's character became blind that the series started to get more intersting to me.....the first few episodes where "blah" to me, so I could understand why you skipped it!

Da Ming Cong Ci was produced in 1998...so my guess is that LBB was only granted supporting roles then? I really admired the range of emotions that she's able to showcase onscreen...it's no wonder why she became one of the most famous female actress in China today. I can honestly say that LBB is one of the rare ones who have both beauty and talent.
2007 has truly been good to her, and I hope that 2008 will hold more luck and accompolishments.

LOLZ... I love to respond to others, I see enjoyment out of that. Answering ppl's questions and getting feedback is what I like to do and get (respectively). That's why I call myself a critic!

Indeed, "The Knot" was intended to help Vivian achieve the "attention" but LBB obviously stole the limelight (well, I wouldnt use the word STOLE, its more like, OUTSHINED and showed who's boss...) :P I personally thought Vivian's acting was tremendously weak in here, very little emotions (but tons and tons of TEARS!). HAHA, some people just doesnt realize that adding in 20 drops of eyedrops doesnt make a crying scene BELIEVIBLE, only FAKE! But her character's story is worth a second look. The character is so faithful and loyal - its kind of hard to believe! But again, many many many young couples in the time of war had gone through this, so let me keep my mouth shut about that. I'm pessimistic, I cant help that!

I do love the movie, but buying 3 copies was just my impulsive actions. I don't even want to tell you want I had to go through. The first time I bought it was at SENSASIAN.com (which took almost 2 months to come), so I lost patient and bought the 2nd one at YESASIA.com but I forgot about the region (I bought region 2 I think, but it doesnt work on my player). So I bought the VCD which plays in any player. HAHAHA, its a waste of money if you ask me!

ZZY does have an innocent look, as I only watch a few of her movies and a few pics. I have no particular interest in her, thus can care less who she is and what she's up to. But I can dfinitely tell, after she got famous, her amibition took over most of what I see. That doesnt appeal to me, thus, I rarely care what she's up to. Ambition is not a sin, neither is arrogance. But once taken a step too far, any characteristic can become a sinful one!

I hate seeing capable actors and actresses' fame getting into their head. It frustrates me from inside out. We loss too many actors and actresses yearly due to complete LUST and ARROGANCE, its hard not to see that. What's worst are arrogance coming from those who has no talents to begin with (I'm not naming names, it'll be too long to list...) :P I'm cynical, but truthful!

And you are correct! LBB wouldnt be LBB if she became this ambitious arrogant "you know what." HAHAHA, but if you've gotten talents, I can care less how you are in real life. As I will onyl ever know the person on TV. But its great to have a role model who's RAW both on screen and off (NOW THAT'S RARE!)

And these are from the promotional event of B★9JOJO on 12/27:

    *Credits as posted

As always, very chic and tastefully dressed. She looks very radiant, and much rested compared to earlier promotional events. I love her lonnnggg legs!
And...she loves those earrings man! She had worn them in almost every picture of her I saw recently.
    Thanks a BUNCH!

The pic where she's sitting... HAHA, I had the same reaction... LBB is super important, thus she is the only one who gets a seat. ^_^ Or maybe its something else, but I'll convince myself that she's just TOO IMPORTANT! :P

She does look good in both attires, very chic and very down to earth (respectively). She has the body to sport almost anything and the sophistications to pull off even the toughest looks. Not to mention a radiant face to pair up with even the worst imaginable dull colors. She beautifies many things that are thoughts of as "THE UGLE THING!" :P Not to give too much credits, as I'm sure she has moments where she wasnt "DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!" But she's done great so far, who cares? She's only human!
Amy Chan Sau Man and Maggie Cheung Ho Yee 4ever!

I actually watched the series only bc of LBB and came out loving LY too. HAHA, I thought LY's first appearance was super hott, thus my eyes was drawn in instantly. From the moment LY and LBB locked eyes, I WAS GLUED! ^_^

DA MING CONG CI? English name anyone? Too lazy to find out myself. I've probably seen it b4.

Haha, LY's character was just too suave...like what those girls in the the series usually said, "Cold on the outside, yet burning up inside." His character was attractive because we were all waiting for some girl to come along and melt his ice-cold facade, and LBB's character did that, and much more.

I think the English name of Da Ming Cong Ci is "The Palace of Passion" or something along those lines....correct me if I'm wrong?

I like responding to others and getting feedback too, esp when I meet like-minded people. But i'm not so much of a critic, just someone who likes to share thoughts and feelings about my fav actresses and shows, and way of life etc.

Hahaha, that's so funny, but well-worth the ride. It must be so frustrating having to wait weeks for something you want to get your hands on right-away. Like being addicted to something. But it's funny how in the end, only the VCD works. Old technology works best, hee.

I agree that in the entertainment world, there's lots of lust and arrogance today, esp with the paparazzi and tabloids. Actresses and actors make up news to get audiences' attention. I don't keep track of entertainment news that often now, so not sure about which actors are arrogant. But I guess, actors who have worked hard developing at their talent know the value of humility and ways of being human, instead of those using tabloids to acheive fame thought arrogance = character or the world revolves around them. That probably make the difference.

    Some fairly recent pix

    An interesting story:
Okay, so as I was searching through google for news on LBB, I came across this blog that was titled "Byebye Li Bing Bing." It was a blog entry of a guy who spent 3 days tutoring English to LBB for her "The Forbidden Kingdom" project. Being the stalker that I am when it comes to anything LBB-related, I hunted the guy down through facebook, and asked him this question:

Me: I read your blog and knew that you worked with LBB before. In her interviews and through her pictures, she seemed like a really sincere and down-to-earth person, so can you tell me how she is in real life?

JF: she's definitely got a hot temper but at heart a very kind person, she is a busybody and is very cool to hangout with once you get to know her. She and I argued a lot, she treated me like a little brother and we had a good time. She is picky but a very cool girl! Hope that helped!

So yup, this gave me a little insight on what kind of person she is in real life. So she has a hot temper huh? I could sorta see that

You can see his blog here:

It's kinda sad really, I think I scared him, haha
