Kung-Fu Kings Build "Forbidden Kingdom"


Two of China's best-known action film stars, Jackie Chan and Jet Li, appeared together on Tuesday in Hong Kong to kick off promotions for their first collaboration, "The Forbidden Kingdom."

Director Rob Minkoff and female leads Liu Yifei and Li Bingbing also attended the press conference, the film's first in Asia.

"The Forbidden Kingdom" is being heavily promoted as the first film starring both Jackie Chan and Jet Li, an opportunity Li said both he and longtime friend Chan had waited 15 years for. He said working together made them even closer, like brothers.

Critics are saying that young actress Liu Yifei, who signed earlier with the William Morris Agency, might have a career breakthrough with her first international film.

The English-language action adventure was inspired by the classic Chinese legend of the Monkey King. It is slated to open in North America on April 18, and in Asia on April 24.

I'm going to be very proud of this upcoming movie "The Forbidden Kingdom" because we finally have a movie that showcases 2 very beautiful actresses (Li Bing Bing and Liu Yi Fei) to the rest of the world. In the past, we had average looking chinese actresses that were featured as "gorgeous" "ethereally beautiful", etc when they were really just okay looking. Can't wait to see/hear what the world will say about Li Bing Bing and/or Liu Yi Fei when this movie comes out on April 18th.

Not at all a hard question to answer on my part!

LBB is definitely more charming and stunning, on and off camera! FBB, without her intensed layers of makeup and overbearing "promotional" events, is IMO, nothing but an overrated talent-LESS individual. And again, that's just my opinion, so I don't really care what others have to say about it!


I really do hope that with "Forbidden Kingdom" the American public can be more assured that the Asian race is not always so "average" in looks. IMO, actresses like Zhang ZiYi, Lucy Liu, etc. are, though good looking, are sometimes too overlly seen as the way most "ASIANS" looks and acts. Sometimes a little exposure wouldn't hurt! ^_^

Its time to tell America we are more than just a pretty face. And LBB and LFY are just two gorgeous actresses who can play that field. Those 2 are 2 beautiful cards to play; a wonderful choice on the movie's casting crew!

ye i wonder when fan bing bing will make it to hollywood.

me thinks she should stay at home, she's already hated in China, if she goes to hollywood and do stupid stuff like Zhang Ziyi then her hate rating will top all.
